Sometimes they cast an actor to play an artist in a biopic and you're unsure how they'll do. That's how I felt about Kristen Stewart being cast as Joan, but I'm very happy that I was wrong. Same goes with Joaquin Phoenix as Cash, he crushed any expectations I had.

It is not nice to put words in people's mouths and to deliberately misinterpret them. Joan never said that she saw anyone being raped, but nor did she call anybody a liar. Those that are haters of Jackie Foxx are in the wrong, and those who are haters of Joan Jett are also in the wrong. Both of them are ridiculously narrow-minded. There is a middle ground here, and that is accepting what Jackie said, but also accepting what Joan said. It can be true that Jackie went through that, but it can also be true that Joan does not remember it as it was described. It doesn't mean she doesn't remember something, but just that she didn't remember it in the same way, or didn't consider that it was a rape that was happening. If we can accept that both people perceived what was happening in different ways, then we can finally see the truth from their eyes. That's the only way to be honest about this situation. Everything else is a bald-faced lie and putting words in their mouth.
