Folks...zero in on that TAMBOURINE!!! I am 76 years in age, raised in a Babtist church. My Grandmother, (God rest her soul) who was a full blood Cherokee Indian, would take her tambourine to church every Sunday morning and she would play that thing and it would sound just like the one in this song, which reminds me of her. She would make that thing talk when she played it. She would literally mesmarize you with with it. @ home, Lord have mercy, I can't explain it!! The version of this song is in mono. But when you hear it in Stereo, the tambourine is emphasized. Keep resting Granny. For your grandson thinks of you every day.

It was my parents record collection that effected me deeply as a child. There was rock n roll and there was motown with a pinch of philly soul, & so much more, the kinks etc. The record label logo artwork designs blew my mind as they span around on the record player. I was absolutely mesmerized by the record player, still am. I used to take them apart wanting to know how each one ticked, i was quite destructive, i had so many boxed mono 60's & 70's models. Then as i got slightly older i became obsessed with stereo radiograms of the same era, valve & transistorised. Today i take on professional repairs, so it was all a great learning curve. It got me thinking the other day what was the very first genre of music that effected me from the start. It was tamla motown, the beatles, the spencer davis group. Keep on running by the spencer davis group! Over the years i have discovered so many great bands from the time period that i still cannot get over on just how many bands there was through the three great decades 1960's 70's & 80's. Vinyl records are my thing. Oh'' and rickenbacker guitars 'n' scooters. Booker T & the MG's Don duck, on bass who later played for neil young. A recent re discovery that i totally forgot about is a jackie trent little number called, where are you now from 1965. I think the song has some sort of nostalgic haunting sound that sums up the period. Well'' maybe it could just be me? I'll always be a mod😎🎸🏁

I remember how innocent children were. I was 11 when my baby sister was born. ( 1951 ) The whole thing a complete mystery to me! I had no idea about sex and can remember asking my dad about Tampax! The ads never told you what they were for. Children’s books and comics too reflected the innocence of the time. I loved the Just William series. Although there were not a lot of consumer goods, we were happy with simple things. I expect many viewers will remember schoolyard games and seasonal fun like conkers! Yes, looking back it does seem a much happier period.

Your music 🎶 is great 👍 and I do miss those days especially when the Beatles appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. Soon afterwards before hairstyles went long guys started sporting their hair with bangs. The music was great and getting louder and intense because 50’s style Rockers now found themselves out of fashion. Elvis, The Beach Boys, and The 4 Seasons were unaffected by the British Invasion. People in a way dressed casually when they went out especially women they dressed well took care of their hair. Everyone made it a point to wear their best just that those were very different times. Even this was the time of the Cold War Threat and American Soldiers were fighting in Vietnam. People did their best to remain positive and to enjoy themselves as well. There certainly won’t be another time like the 60’s because the 60’s were a time of change.

I,m still here with the h air and teeth, the sharp suits and the pin collered shirts not forgetting the tab collered shirts, with the the double cuffs and of course the cufflinks, time moves on but of course there aint many of still dancing, I do my best, because the music is better than all the drugs,All the best people Love Keith Peplow xxxxx
