I booked this trip back in 2020 soooo I definitely didn’t pay $5,000. I think the trip was worth what i paid for as someone who 1) doesn’t like planning 2) would never want to have to figure out logistics of island hopping/transportation/accommodations/etc. myself & 3) really enjoys group travel but you’re definitely entitled to your opinion! EF Ultimate Break isn’t for everyone :)

This is a check-in sized luggage so yes, it would fit any size laptop safely. However, i believe you’re always supposed to carry your laptop in your carry on luggage when air traveling - not check in due to the lithium battery

You can for car, train and bus vacations only. Never put any electronic in a check in bag for air travel, as there is a risk of the battery exploding. It may not happen, but it’s not worth risking it, plus security might pull you up on it

Yeah definitely, i’ve seen the same! But i’ve also personally witnessed people being asked to check it due to the size so i guess it depends on the gate agent/luck of the draw! I also do a lot of international travel on non standard airlines that are way more strict but definitely up to personal choice! Never said that there is a luggage that will meet all airline requirements 😊

I have a full packing video for this trip posted on my channel if you want to see everything i packed! I’m a huge overpacker though so I’m probably not the best person to ask LOL my biggest tip is to make sure you look at the domestic flight baggage limitations (the weight restrictions for the flights within thailand). Also some things i thought were essential were a portable fan of some sort, microfiber towel, water shoes, & waterproof phone case!

Definitely depends on your spending habits. I exchanged 500-600 USD into Baht through my bank before i left for the trip & that was enough for me the entire trip. I only used my card for grabs (their version of uber) & for my tattoo at the end of the trip.

All great options BUT if you do end up on the Barcelona, Ibiza, Valencia one you’ll have a blast!! I hope you love it as much as I did. I believe i brought $800 worth in euros & that was enough for the trip + tipping my tour director at the end & i did not bring any euros back. I also ended up using my card for bigger purchases (gucci store, a meal or two where i covered the tab & people just paid me back, etc) but the cash covered most everything else. I will say, i’m a BIIIIG souvenir/shopping/food girlie when I travel though & i kinda go a little overboard w the spending every single trip so i’m sure there are people that spent a lot less than I did! I usually try to budget ~$100 a day for my habits lol

EF Ultimate Break doesn’t give backpacks & I don’t believe they sell them either. The one shown in a short clip at some point in this vlog was a perk gifted to brand ambassadors once we reached the gold tier status. I did get a backpack when i did an EF tour through my high school though (back in 2014) so it may possibly be different for different branches of the company.

Hi!! Yess! Mini weekender fit under the seat of my American airlines flight with no issue at all & i packed it pretty full so i was super impressed! The carry on was also allowed on with no issue & they were actually being pretty strict about baggage sizes since my flights were full & they made a ton of people check in their bag if they thought they were too big. I loved having easy access to my laptop in the front pocket. 10/10 recommend 😊

So excited for you 🤍 I don’t remember exactly how many meals i paid for total because it depended on how much i ate that day lol but these were the meals that were included, everything else we had to pay for ourselves: Breakfast is included everyday at the hotels Welcome dinner Traditional khantoke dinner in chiang mai Home hosted dinner in chiang mai (if you pay for the optional excursion) Lunch + dinner one day in Phuket (if you pay for the optional phang nga bay excursion) Farewell dinner

all domestic flights were in a much smaller plane so they have to be more strict w size/weight/the number of items you can take. I believe the allowed weight for the check in bag was also lower than our flights from the US so i would check that as well to be safe!! People ended up leaving items behind in each city to lower the weight of their bags & condense their things 😅 I’m from Los Angeles so i luckily only had one layover in south korea on the way there and back so i didn’t have to pick up my bag of go through customs or anything until i got to my end destination so it was super easy. I think it just depends on your flight path!

Yeah it’s 44 pounds and I think usually it’s 50! And I see the carry on it’s 15 pounds. I’m so surprised they actually weigh the carry on! So from South Korea to Bangkok they moved your bags so you didn’t need to go through customs until you landed in Bangkok? This is so helpful thank you again.

@@lexc5428 yeah from south korea to bangkok my bag was transferred for me so I didn’t have to pick it up or go through customs! Customs happened done in Bangkok. Same thing on the way back - i didnt go through customs until i got back to the US

Yes i did but tbh, if i could do it over i would def try to keep it to the checked bag + my backpack (personal item) bc the domestic flights within thailand were much more strict about carry ons & i was really stressing LOL & i would say i ended up wearing about 80% of what i took haha def didn’t need so many options but i’m extra so it’s the same thing every trip. SO EXCITINGGG, YOU’RE GOING TO LOVE IT!!!

Thank you!! The days I wore my birkenstocks my feet didn’t hurt at all. However, mine are pretty old & well broken in so that may be a contributing factor. I wore my tevas on our first full bangkok day without breaking them in before hand & hated my lifeeeeee LOL so def whatever shoe you decide on for walking, just make sure you’ve broken them in before hand! 😅

Definitely up to your personal preference. I prefer to just let EF book everything bc i like the convenience of the payment plans & not having to worry about airport transfers myself but i know others prefer to have more control over their flights or even like to use their credit card points! I don’t really mind layovers much but that’s the biggest thing w EF - you will RARELLLYYYY ever get a direct flight & sometimes the flight path they have you on doesn’t really make much sense lol I’ve been pretty lucky though. This Spain trip was the only time i’ve had issues w my flights but travel was super impacted at the time so that may have played a role as well. Oh & there were lots of solo travelers on the trip!

i haven’t actually tried Beis luggage (i only own the weekender & i’m obsessed w it) so my comparison is purely based on research online/other peoples’ reviews but so far REALLY love my monos & don’t have any complaints about it. It did get scuffed a bit after my first trip but they all came out w the magic eraser. Hope you like the monos if you end up going with that!! 😊

Ooo good question - i don’t remember exactly. Probably $65 in the krona equivalent i believe? I usually just read the “know before you go” guide on the EF Website/app & tip the recommended amount! Unless i have extra cash left over at the end of the trip then I just tip extra bc the directors are usually amazing.

Definitely could probably plan it yourself for less, i agree. I think it’s worth it personally because i hate planning & wouldn’t want to travel completely solo. Def up to personal preference but i’ve only had great EF experiences so again, just a personal thing! Another option may be to just not opt for EF’s flights & book the direct $400 flight you saw instead. Would shave a bunch off the price if they don’t book the flights for ya!

Do you know anything about the Portugal/Spain trip (Lisbon/Madrid/Barcelona)? I am torn between the Barca/Ibiza/Valencia one and the Lisbon/Madrid/barca one. Did you make friends? I'm 23 and I'd be travelling alone since none of my friends could join me. I'd be going in July too and I'm worried it will be too hot in Spain

Oo Peru sounds amazing!! Please let me know how you like it, i’m interested in adding that to my list for future trips. I haven’t heard much about the Portugal/Spain trip but i personally haven’t done much research on it if i’m honest! There’s a group on facebook you can join called “EF Ultimate Break: Travelers” people are ALWAYS on there talking about their experiences & i’m sure there is a post about the specific trip you’re looking at & even people who have been to Spain in July that can speak to how hot it was! As for traveling solo, i’ve done 2 out of my 3 trips so far solo & loved it!! I made friends that i still talk to today from all over the U.S. I was suuuuper worried before my first trip because i hadn’t really done anything solo before but my advice would be to go in open minded & be yourself. I was also around 23 at the time & i a lot of people were around the same age. Even those that were younger/older were soo fun to be around & i didn’t feel weird at all. The first night everyone kind of hangs out together but eventually you can get to know everyone & find the people you click with the most.

No it doesn’t convert. It’s just the adapter which works fine for most things but for heated tools (iron, straightener, curler, blow dryer, etc) i just make sure they’re dual voltage so i dont need a converter! 😊
