While watching the evening arrivals at Oshkosh I saw this C5 brake catch fire. Super impressed with the quick reaction by the USAF and the Oshkosh airport fire department.

Very nice. Eco flying, if there is such a thing...
Grear video! What flight school did you go to?
what license did she get to fly crosscountry at 14 WITH a powered glider
🤩❤️Пипистрель! 🤪👍❤️
Would love to know what licence you had whlie flying the sinus
Awesome. MUCH LOVE
How would I do this? I’ve been looking for places to get my gliders license, but I can’t find anything!
WOW I never thought I would ever see 34.375 MPG from an airplane WOW she is AWSOME also ..
Great landing you are on your way.12/28/2021
how did she learn how to fly and how she able to do this solo legally?
It's a glider. You can get a student pilot certificate at 14 and fly solo with an endorsement from your flight instructor.
@@Ridingrules10000 i thought thats for unpowered gliders
@@acel2413, I'm definitely no expert on the topic, but it doesn't look like they distinguish between powered and unpowered gliders.
ni ce
Interessantes Video, die Radkappen wurden sogar ergänzt während des Fluges. The cover for the maingear are addedduring the fkight. 😉
Evening great film thank you for shearing that, I owned a virus for 5 years enjoyed many hours flying in it had to sell the plane and are getting a sinus due to longer wingspan I will have to go sideways into hanger like you do I liked your dolly is it possible to get details on what you use
Thanks for your kind words, pipistrel makes some pretty great planes! We got 2 GoJak aviation dollies for the main wheels (from Wings and Wheels) and then just a standard vehicle dolly for the nose since you can easily lift the nose off the ground with the tail or prop. Hope this helps!
Did you ever turn off the motor to glide? Or just set it to idle?
I left the engine on the entire time because it is a lot faster and it is a touring motor glider so it is made to be flown long distances with power
Awseome!
That was awesome 👍👌
Wow...air camping is the way to go, if you're tough enough. Any tips ?
Well, I guess the important things to consider is what is going to be the most important thing to you. When camping with GA space is really an issue so what we did is took a lot of our backpacking stuff, including a good small tent. We took more than we needed for flying (extra iPads, back up batteries) but with our camping stuff we just took what was really going to be valuable. I always like camping better when going cross country because it isn’t hard to find a place to pitch a tent but with staying places you need transport, a hotel, all stuff that can be a big issue if you have to land somewhere unknown. And you have all the stuff you need right in the plane, no need to pack a bag for the night!
I'm actually 13 right now. Living in Florida. I always wanted to fly one of the TBM variants, until I realized I was surely too young. Watching this video actually gave me the courage to at least fly a quite similar glider as well. *Good luck, mate!*
How is it now?
@@tylerkingery fucking gave up on that shit.
Hi Really cool u have parents who can afford to support this for u, I’m just able to do this at 52yrs old so it’s great to see young kids able to achieve this dream and or goal! Big question and I really would appreciate your help, could you tell me what type of camera mount you used, I really want to get that shot from wing, do you have any video that even show the mount? Thank you 👍🏻
Curts Review I’m using a ball mount on my Sinus, modified the bolt by welding one that fits the threads of the underwing points.
Curts Review we are using the 12mm wing mount from motorglideraccessories.com
THANK YOU!
Same age as you, but reality is always a way just depends on how hard you try. I didn't have much money when I was young but I could have figured out a way just didn't want to try hard enough. I wish I had back then so much easier to get into aviation younger before you have any responsibilities.
What was your elevation when you flew over the desert?
About 7,000 feet
Thanks for sharing! Hope you had a great time.
We were wondering what you were doing... now we know 👍
superb, can't wait to see the movie. You are a very motivated person, that's so awesome. As kids we had motor bikes and we loved that but this takes the cake! We live in a golden age.
Very nice👍🏼 I’m about to train in this and I’ve flown it once at air expo, but what advise would you give a new student? Appreciate your help n keep up the live of aviation 👍🏼👍🏼
I gotcha! Watch my video of the same thing... ua-cam.com/video/eMg4HlTDFEk/v-deo.html
Cool!
Looking forward to the full movie. Great aerial footage.
What an adventure! She looks so focused.
she is clearly in her element! nice!
Awesome!
That.is.so.cool.
The video abruptly ends. I assume the fire was out quickly?
@@kyleayres6255 Thanks! used to be a Loadmaster on the C-5. I forget the details of if the Nitrogen fight fighting agent would be used in such a situation. This seemed fairly small. I had to investigate a much larger brake fire on a C-5 years ago. Lots of damage.
Hey FRED!
Just read the EAA AirVenture Today article (7/24/19). Very cool! issuu.com/eaahq/docs/avt_072419 - page 4 for those who want to read it.

Very cool!
I'm going to a glider academy this summer. I really hope it leads me to something this epic!
Good luck!
Did it
Hey Riley, GREAT VIDEO, well done !
This girl is goin places!
Congrats! Very Impressive!
Way to go, Riley!!!
Awesome flight, I like the video edit too !
Very impressive. Youngest pilot to fly around the world? Keep going.
Congrats on Solo! and on making Aero News!
Soaring is the absolute best aviation experience I have ever had. (In a Grob) Flown many different aircraft and sailing is the best. Congrats.
Congrat's to Riley on doing such a great job on her first solo flight and congrat's also, to her father and grandfather on figuring out how to get her into a powered aircraft at age 14. Ryan clearly has a lot of good flying ahead of her. :)
Congratulations!
So impressive, Rilo! Couldn’t be more proud of you living your dreams!
Congrats! Great Start.
Simply awesome! At least she won't ever look back and say I wish I had started much earlier. If you have a dream...Catch it!
I agree turned 50 last year I remember 30 years ago taking some lessons was advised at the time not to get my PPL then because I didn't have the money very poor advice this is something you want to learn ASAP not wait on before have any baggage at home get in the way. If I had done that back then my entire life would be different now. Being young is a gift you you get one time in life if you don't follow the your dreams only left with regrets.
