Landmarks is the public art program of The University of Texas at Austin. Its projects are located throughout the main campus and are viewed by thousands of people every day. In 2008, Landmarks was launched with the purpose of developing a cohesive collection of public art from a curatorial perspective. Today its projects beautify the main campus and engage visitors and the university community with art of the highest quality.
Landmarks' first initiative brought to the university twenty-eight modern and contemporary sculptures on long-term loan from one of the world's greatest museums, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. These extraordinary sculptures provide an art historical foundation upon which the university is building its own collection.

Thanks for putting this up - the genius of my Barnstormer brother SKWERM will only be known in small fragments - but David has had a massive impact on my life as an artist from his personal interactions with me as a mentor and crew member. His range of skills and ideas and styles is so vast - I'll always hold our collaborations as very special to me. Many more years of David's genius art are to come - and many blessings to all who read this.
Hetep! I'm an interdisciplinary artist and independent curator who lives in Austin with close connections to the Black Studies and art departments. I'm extremely surprised and upset that Black artists in the community were left out of this talk and "landmark" acquisition. I'm literally on campus at least once a month (now that I no longer work at UT) and never knew that Simone Leigh has one of her pieces on UT campus. Of course, it's in a location that the public/communities folks can't access. I admire Simone Leigh and have mad luv for her work. It's a shame Austin's Black artists and community were left out of this talk and milestone. Just sayin...
such a lovely speech 💙

Congratulations for this abstract mural! It' awesome! I like the colours, texture, the marks, the use of the space and the symbolic meaning about the origin of black slaves migration in US. It should be so difficult to work in such as large scale. Gracias for the video!
You prolly dont care at all but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any tips you can give me
@Gage Shiloh Instablaster =)
@Bryant Fisher thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
