I debated adding a " hook" such as an acid line from the T-8 or the built in synth on the Circut, but I decided while jamming to just use drums to change the flow and make those the prominent aspect of the track. @@Vishesche-Electronic I tend to gravitate towards an older sound myself - those old 90's rave sounds get me in the nostalgia, but I like all kinds of electronic music and throw together what the feels are for the moment. Glad you enjoy and looking forward to hearing more of your jams!

@skinzelectronicjams for me it's all about doing it live...and making quick decisions....in production you can do whatever... What do you do live ? Where do you take the music? Do you take it higher? Do you drop it ? Are you in sync with the crowd who is listening? And if you fuck up, how quickly do you recover from that fuck up... Etc etc...

@Vishesche-Electronic I did the rave circut of New England, Florida and Japan (while stationed there in the early 2000s) from the mid 90s to the mid 2000s. It was an amazing time, but life happened. Now that I am older, I am more into live jamming, some production and do the occasional DJ set for smaller underground events. But it's really for me and my love of the music and exploration of sound. It's been a life long love and evolution.

@@Alinasound The TR-8S acts as the master clock, running to a midi hub. I am controlling the Deepmind via a Circut Tracks and playing the notes live on that. It's all being run back through a Multistomp for a very slight hall effect. This all goes to a Reloop Mixon 8 pro running Serato DJ for recording and streaming to OBS. The TR-8S acts as the clock because it can sync to Serato DJ if I want to incorporate all my Synths into a DJ set. Thank you!

@@skinzelectronicjams I was always really intrigued with the Cobalt 8. At certain point I like to have it (the desktop version) but never got quite convince of it. What's your feedback so far?

@@RareCounterKulture I enjoy it, but it is not one of my favorites . It's really fun for patch creation, easy to use. The effects are passable, not great. The sequencer is meh as well. It's pegged as an analog digital hybrid, but sounds more digital. It has an airy sound to it which works well for pads etc. I guess the answer is it's good at a lot of things, but not great. The keybed is really nice though. I got a killer deal on it though and have yet to explore it fully, but it's growing on me. I would give it a 7/10.

@@skinzelectronicjams I really think that desktops are so overkilling that sampling or patch making is the most enjoyable case scenario. I got novation Nova because back then I could not afford a Virus or Prophet, and in hindsight, I realise I got enough for lots (as with any desktop 🤣).

@@RareCounterKulture I generally try to get smaller items and desktops myself for space reasons. I like all different types of electronic music, but for most cases I think an analog like the Deepmind or all digital like the ELZ-1 Play do what the Cobalt does, but better if you are looking for a good pad machine. The Cobalt does not get aggressive enough for leads in most cases in my opinion.

@@barryjefferies3201 Just double checked - the TR-8 syncs to Serato as well, not just the TR-8S. Also, If I had a beast like the MC-707 like you, I wouldn't need the sampling capability either😅

Thank you! That 8-bit warps is an interesting piece of kit. The filter is actually sweeping between two waveforms - an 8-Bit and a 2-bit. Gives it a bit crushed videogame kinda sound to it. Thanks for listening!

@@skinzelectronicjams That's a crazy filter actually, but it delivers at the end of the day. Did you have more processing after the Sonicware?

I have a slight hall effect from the multistomp pedal at end of chain. Just enough to take the digital edge off. I use that for almost all my recordings..it's more set and forget. The rest of the effects are all the Sonicware.

@@chrisjunosmusic Thank you! I love my Sonicware gear. I was debating selling the 8-bit Warps, as I recently got the ELZ-1 Play and that has many of the same waveforms, but I think I will be keeping it.

@@jaffajenkins Broke out the acid boxes that no one ever talks about. The B-1 is such an underrated 303 clone. The NUBass is wild as well, but it's a one trick pony, but if you can dial in that trick - it adds a real fat woobly bass

@@Gyrbae It's actually a Donner guitar pedal board, but it works well for the mini synths. They are held up by Velcro, so I can pop them off when I want to take them somewhere to write a pattern or something. Comes with a case for easy transport as well.

@@buzzpsy I have dabbled in it a bit, primarily with Serato Studio. I have the track recorders (1010 Blue box) and have used some jams as the sketches, and cleaned up the breaks/drops/EQ in Serato Studio or FL back in the day. Problem is I don't really release them into the wild, but I do use them in my own DJ sets. Ha ha 😂
