hi, bought the tool yesterday. can I use this with the rig coming from Cascadeur to C4D? and I noticed I couldnt tweek any controller as soon as I use character retargeting, is there any solution for this?
Hi, thanks for the purchase! to your first question: yes, simple set up the rig in cascadeur with the same character/skeleton coming from CC4 which you use in C4D to add the control rig. Then you can easily retarget the animation coming from cascadeur to the Control Rig with 'CC4_Joints_definition' preset. To your second question: yes, as long as the retargeting is active you can not move any of the controllers. to modify the animation you have to bake it down to the control objects. ua-cam.com/video/qPfElOc8SeQ/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared&t=754
okay thank you. I'll try that out and get back to you here
Can this be used with the character rig in C4D?
No the CC4D Tools and Riggs are specific tools for characters exported from Character Creator 4 or AccuRig and therefore the Motion Tools and retargeting setups will only work for those specific riggs
Hey Bro! please tutorial CC4D with Cascadeur Workflow!! Since Cascadeur is compatible with AccuRig setup, this bridge workflow will be really awesome! I can't Wait!!
Hi! what exactly do you want to know? how to retarget / import animation data from cascadeur to the CC4D Control Rig?
if you use the same CC4 or AccuRig skeleton to animate in cascadeur which you are using for your control rigged characte then you can simply retarget the animation output from cascadeur using the CC4_Joint_definition preset for the C4D Character Definition Manager
WOW! This is Amazing Tools ! I have one question! If I want to bake mocap data and then add keyframes back on top of it, do I have to erase and modify as many keys as I want? Or can I add as many as I want to an existing animation, either in the form of a motion layer or in a non-destructive way?
Hi! you could 'convert' your animation after baking into a C4D MotionClip using the Motion System. Then you can create animation layer and animate 'on top' of your original animation. I have not yet made a guide on this as I do not have a fully stable workflow for that as the Motion System in C4D can be tricky but it is possible
yo this is sick
Is it possible to update the plugin if you already own a different version?
Hi, Yes! you can just download the new version through the gumroad library
This tool is an aboslute game changer! Works perfectly smooth
okay thank you. I'll try that out and get back to you here
hi, I bought your plugin and it's very nice, congratulations, I have this problem... I also need to open this character in other software, such as blender, maya etcc, when I import my character into blender it loses all the weighting, and it does strange things, how can I export an fbx from cinema that maintains the morph tag and correct weighting even in blender? or in maya... thanks
Hi, you mean when you export your character from CC4 or C4D? When you export from C4D make sure to only export the characters original joint hierarchy and its geometry. The Rig Setups and controllers will not transfer over.
@@CC4DTools I export from Cinema 4D, but if I want the same morph targs as in C4D in Blender, what should I do? the customer asked me for the same controllers I have in the cinema, do you have a solution? Thank you
@@stefanobertelli2530 Unfortunatly that won't be possible as both applications work completly different in terms of rigging logic. What you can export from C4D is the character with its original skeleton and geometry (this also includes the facial pose morphs). But if you want to use a CC4 character in blender I recommend to use the amazing CC4 pipeline tools for blender. The CC4D Tools are meant to be used and work in C4D only
You just saved so many souls ! You are amazing !! Thank you
just bought it, and this is the best plugin for characters
Great update!!
Great! I really need this feature on MAXON mobile app.
This system looks amazing. I was wondering if it works with custom characters. I have some that are already rigged (bones weighted), and I would like to be able to move them around using your Control Rig. Thanks a lot.
======================= Is there a way to get the plugin running if the charachter has no twist bones? Charachter Creator4 fortunately allows the mesh to be optimized and the twinst bones to be removed, which is especially important if the charachter or animations are used in environments such as game engines where twist bones are not that much used. For this I go to Optimize and Decimate->Custom->Skeleton in CC4 and deactivate the twist bones there, the end result is that arms and legs consist of 2 bones + hands and feet But when I want to load such a charachter into CC4D I get: <c4d.modules.character.CAPoseMorphTag object called Pose Morph/Pose Morph with ID 1024237 at 2762645745664> Character Type: Humanoid Body Mesh : None Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\...\CC4D_tools\CC4D_controlRigSetup.py", line 1089, in <module> main() File "C:\...\CC4D_tools\CC4D_controlRigSetup.py", line 1085, in main controlRigSetup.execute() File "C:\...\CC4D_tools\CC4D_controlRigSetup.py", line 740, in execute self.dic[side+"_UpperarmTwist01"], pos=False) KeyError:'L_UpperarmTwist01' The rig successfully assigns the arms and spine but the hands and legs remain unchanged and it crashes with this error message.
You are my hero! Thank you so much for this and all the updates as well.
Great tool. bought it today But would like to know if the import works with the mocap animations that come with cinema 4d ?
Hi, You mean the moCap animations in the C4D asset browser? Yes it works! Let me know if you have any trouble
How do I use move by maxon
Hi the option to retarget facial animation from other sources like Maxon Moves or Rokoko is not yet implemented. But I'm already working on it. It will be possible with the next update
@@CC4DTools 🥳
I made a character in CC 3 and imported it into Iclone7. Does this work with the retargeting with your plugin(bought it today)? I seem to have issues.
Hi, you mean to export animation from iClone and retarget it to the control rig? yes this should work! What issues do you have? Feel free to drop me a description/capture of your problem to cc4dtools@gmail.com
@@CC4DToolsThanks for the quick reply, I will do so tomorrow morning after tinkering around with it for a bit more;)
Hello. I found an error while using the latest version of C4D 2024. There's a problem where the legs connected to the foot controller are twisting. Can you fix it plz?
Yes, I'm already aware of that and I'm preparing a fixed version. It should be out not later than tomorrow
@@CC4DTools Thank you for support. Additionally Is there a way to switch existing rigging data to a new version?
@@bigifts you're welcome! you mean how to update a already ctrl rigged character with a new version of the rig? well, if you directly animated on your rigged character: no. You would have to create a new version of your rigged character and copy/transfer the animations over to the new version. But another way would be to save your rigged character as a separate .c4d file and create a xRef of it in your animation scene. This way you can simply load the a new version of your rigged character and maintain the animations.
hello! I bought your prodact and I really need to know. How can I change maxamo animation ? For example, head rotation...THX!
Hi, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Do you mean how to adjust a mixamo animation after transfering it to the Control Rig? After baking down the animation you could modify the animation through the timeline by reducing the keyframes and adjusting your f-curves. Or you convert the animation into a C4D motionclip and add additional animations on a relative animation layer. Feel free to drop me a line at cc4dtools@gmail.com if you have any other questions
Do the CC face pose morphs work with any character uploaded? I have a humanoid I uploaded to CC and want to export to c4d with all the pose morphs
If your humanoid character has a facial profile with the corresponding morphs inside CC they will be exported with the fbx and you can apply the face rig in C4D. But to transfer animations from CC or iClone they should be exported on a CC3+ character, even if your actual character is a humanoid.

The coupon code has also expired
Hi, please contact the gumroad support as they handle the payment.
Does@CC4DTools still have a chance to get a coupon code?
@@wenleizhang-ru3zn yes I extended the 50% code one week: SCHWIFTYFIFTY

Amazing work!
Awesome set of tools!! Game changing for my workflow
This is awesome! Your work is greatly appreciated!
Perfect tool!! can you please explain how can we animate the controls after baking?
Thanks! One way would be to clean up your tracks using the C4D key reducer through the timeline to have less keyframes and than start modifying your animation. Another way would be to use the C4D motion clip system and modify the animation through animation layers. I will make a video on using the CC4D ctrl rig with the motion clip system soon.
@@CC4DTools Thanks, it can help us so much!
Yes please I'm also wondering the same thing!
Sir, I have a question, but it may be a stupid question. I'm sorry.. Is there no need to wight paint when we rig with iClone?
No, when you create your characters with character creator the character will already have proper weights. When you use AccuRig then some manual weight paint clean up may be nescessary as the weights will be auto generated.
Cool work
wight muscles skin painting tutorial please
Great work!!! Reallusion needs to support your effort
I’ve spent a week trying to figure out how to import accurigs into C4D and have it work properly. But things kept breaking. Watched this video and then had the whole working in under 15 minutes!!
This is FANTASTIC! Do you have a tool for DAZ characters?
Awesome, thanks.
Awesome, thanks.
just bought it! Btw Is there a way to combine multiple animations? thanks!
any luck on this buddy? :)
Hi. I am using C4D 2024 2.0. Does this tool work for this version? Thank you
Hi, yes they do
So awesome! any news on the lip sync import button? :)
This tool is fantastic. Is there a way to use the face rig alone without using the body rig too or do they need to be used together?
Hi^^ @tomcoben Thanks! Yes the face rig is relying on the control rig and can not be applied without it
My characters were created in cc3, I want to add arkit blendshapes to it to make facial mocap, is it possible or do I have to do it in cc4?
Small suggestion for improvement: If you export a CC4 with InstaLOD to merge materials ( e.g. all to a 4k texture ) then the "CC_Base_BoneRoot" is called "root" instead, which makes the script not apply the rig to the mesh with the message "The "BoneRoot" joint does not exist. Please import CC4 Character FBX". It would make sense to allow both CC_Base_BoneRoot and root. If the bone is renamed manually to CC_Base_BoneRoot the script works without problems, but it took me some time to find out why the script was not working. Now it works, thankyou for your nice integration script 👏🏻
Thanks for the input and I'm glad you got it to work! I wasn't aware of this as I never have used the instaLOD function. I will have a look into it
These are rather amazing tools, and I am already keen to try them out. However, a primary feature I would like to be able to access is lip-sync. So if I generate some lipsync and facial animations in iClone, would I be able to export as FBX, and copy this data to my CC4D character rig as motion clips? - The strength of iClones lip-sync tools, useable in Cinema 4D rigs for the animation is a perfect combination to me.
Hi Adam not yet with the current version but with the next major update I will add a 'import'BodyMotion' tool as well as a 'importFaceMotion' tool to transfer facial animation coming from iClone to the controls of the rig
@@CC4DTools Wonderful! Dare I ask when such an update might appear? ;)
@@kromekatdotcom Sure! the base functionality is already there but it needs a bit more testing and refinement. I can't give you a exact date but I hope to publish it within the next month

Can this work with Move Ai mocap? Tried and failed...
Hi there, yes it can work with data from move.ai easily following the process in the video above. The bone extraction in the character definition manager even works almost out of the box. here is a quick basic test with animation data from move.ai: drive.google.com/file/d/1kkqjGuppSurVUXw8ssO60fR6sscUAj11/view?usp=sharing

Great Video, I keep having trouble importing my character in to C4D. Everytime I import the hair with the character as FBX the loading bar freezes at halfway and goes unresponsive. Not sure whether this is a polygon issue as it imports fine into Maya and Blender but not C4D. Any guesses on how to fix this? Thanks
