Hey everyone! I'm back with another trip to North Karnataka, where I explored many sites rich in historical significance and stunning architecture.
Vijayapura, also known as Bijapura, is a historic city in northern Karnataka, India, It is renowned for its rich Islamic architecture, particularly from the Adil Shahi dynasty (1489-1686). The city is home to several significant monuments, including the Gol Gumbaz, Ibrahim Rauza, Jamiya Masjid, Bara Kaman & Bijapur fort. Vijayapura was once the capital of the Adil Shahi dynasty and played a crucial role in the region's history. Today, it is a popular tourist destination known for its historical significance and beautiful architecture.
Kudalasangama: Situated in the Bagalkote district of Karnataka, this significant pilgrimage site for the Lingayat community boasts rich historical and spiritual importance. Basavanna’s final resting place is in Kudalasangama. This is a place of prime importance to Lingayats, for it houses Basavanna’s Samadhi and the Sangameshwara temple.
The Almatti Dam Garden, Iis a well-maintained park near the Almatti Dam in Karnataka. Almatti dam is officially known as the Lal Bahadur Shastri Dam, is a significant hydroelectric project on the Krishna River in North Karnataka.
