Lift and install a ceiling fan for a high ceiling

Here is how I lifted a vary heavy ceiling fan in a high ceiling room. Lifting and replacing a ceiling fan that is high can be a challenge. Be careful if a ladder is involved. Have someone hold the strap, which takes the weight off of it while you lift. Then after it is installed, hook up your electrical and finalize. Remember to turn off the breaker/ tape the switch so you don't get juiced. ANY...

I think going to an auto store was a brilliant move. Hot tip: Auto zone has a "Loan-A-Tool" service. You provide a deposit that covers the cost of the tools you need to borrow, and if you get the tools back in good condition in 90 days or less you get the FULL deposit back! So in the instance of needing the impact wrench with more impact, but it's impractical in your everyday to "own" it, this option would be a great fit!

If you have an element cemented in calcium like that, you have worse problems than a stuck element...replace the heater. Simple. Here's another hint. USE an IMPACT wrench on the anode as well, but I bet the anode in that tank is rotted away as well.

With that much buildup your going to get a shot life from the replacement, tank capacity's reduced and probably near the end of life. Better long term solution, replace the water heater and since your subject to sediment buildup perform routine flushing. On the positive your now the long term owner of some one time use tools.
