Unity Spotlight Installation on a Square body Chevy truck
Переглядів 7575 місяців тому
Walking through the steps to install Unity post mount spotlights on moms 1978 Chevy truck. The correct bracket for the squarebody Chevy is #27 & 27R for left and right lights. The correct shaft length is an exposed 9” or model “GM”. The lights I installed for this truck are the 5” metal housings, or model 250GM. The 6” metal housing would be model 225GM. The later model 6” plastic housing is mo...

I bought a brand new corolla i hope i never need tools but i keep most of my pluming tools as well as a full set of 1/4” and 3/8” drive metric sockets with all that if i happen to break down for some funky reason i hope i can atleast get it going. I have a few select size standard sockets in my plumbing box i use for specific plumbing needs but thats it.

Ur dad definitely had high hopes for that truck. I'm doing a whipple on my 53 international also. I definitely learned some things from ur dad working on his 53 Chevrolet...i support ur thoughts on how you wanna be better skilled to finish it like he wanted...that's pretty awesome man. I'm also trying to teach myself how to tig currently. I can't wait to see when you get back to the 53 though!

Sorry, I can’t remember which son you are . But Sally’s truck looks good. Leave the F250 as is. Put the Diesel in a go-cart before putting it in the F250…. Your Dad was great at fabrication because he wasn’t afraid of making a mistake and admitting it. You will make them, thats part of life and learning. The GMC and Mustang look good. Plan and document what you want the 53 to look like and have a brother reunion to work on it. We are still praying for you guys.

I use my wife's account. My name is keith, and ur dad was my big inspiration to work on my 1952 Chevy Truck.I miss him great talent. Just get it done it may not be perfect, but we are not perfect. And life is too short. I've been working on my for 15 years and decided to go with a patina style and about a month away from getting it done. Bless u and your family 🙏🏼

I've got a DOD K5 Blazer that I really want to put one of these on but the idea of drilling holes in it is nightmare fuel. I love the look but I couldn't bring myself to put holes in a solid, rust-free body.

You should see the ones on our new patrol cars. they are mounted to the fender, no holes in the A pillar. it's controlled by a Joystick on the console. When you turn it off. it parks protecting the LED light.

I’ve always liked the look and functionality of them on older vehicles, it’s a cool chrome accessory that you used to see on cars and trucks from when I grew up and before… many years ago dad helped me put the same set of spotlights on an 85 F150 I had. Naturally I wanted to fancy up mom’s truck with a set.

I liked your installation... I did the same except my aim was to eliminate through-bolts going through the wood to hold the box to the frame. I used the same square tubing you used instead of the wood blocks but I welded the steel blocks to the cross-sills instead of the frame. Drilled a square hole in the bottom of the square tubing pieces and a bigger round hole in the cross-sill to accept carriage bolts. I too use truck mud flaps for all my rubber cushion needs... One trick I've gleaned from you video is to drill the bottom of the frame to clear a socket and attach the front cross-sill to the upper flange of my boxed frame. That will eliminate the protruding nut and bolt that gets in the way of my hoist's rear pads.
