Took a kayak fishing trip to South Padre Island North flats. Started off slow but the bite picked up around 11a. The drum bite was not on but we caught several species. Sorry for the wet gopro lens as we got rained for a while. Enjoy!

@torress1976 Appreciate you thanks for watching.
Really nice job! I miss that area
@allkindsofoutdooractivities Appreciate you...thanks for watching!!!
@@Yakmandave you are welcome!
Awesome videos! Looking into getting the same kayak I think, is that the sportsman 120 pdl? Just wondering how it does in shallow water
@Jumboshrimp40 In the earlier videos I had a 120 and now have a Sportsman 106. The performance in shallow water is outstanding. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Haven't fished that area yet. Where did you launch?
@@AlexAguirre-gm1to We launched from the flats next to the convention center. Thanks for watching!
Nice hook ups, especially the Black Drum. Always get a Tide Forecast before venturing out on the water. I've heard some horror stories of kayaks and boats getting stranded at an out-going tide. Be safe and tight lines.
@leovasquez5016 Thank you for watching Sir appreciate you.
Great video brotha! Im definitely gonna have to join you next time. U had the magic touch on this trip 😂
These black drum always give up a good fight, nice catch!
Yes Sir they do! Thank you so much for watching.
Great video. Nice mess of fish. Would have loved to see the 4x4 going through that stuff lol.
@@ricksrockinreels I will do that next time thanks for watching brother
Dude nice drum. All of them but that big one . What was it 35-36 in
@@WolfsFishing thank you my friend it was a 30-inch
Some great footage.
@MinuteontheMountain Thank you and I appreciate you watching!
Are you using weights to fish at bottom?
@@Jozuv Using a 1/4 oz jighead. Thanks for watching!
How deep is it where you go? Any alligator sightings or sharks?
It depends on the tide but it ranges from 3 to 5 ft in the channels. I have not seen a gator in a long time. Sharks I have seen but fairly small.
Do you have to anchor? I’m assuming these man made channels don’t lead to the deep ocean? Newbie here just checking.
@Jozuv we have an anchor but rarely use it since the current is usually slow around there. The channels lead out to the bay not the ocean.
How do you and your wife like the old town sportsman old? In a couple months I’m getting a kayak stuck in between hobie outback or the old town pdl 120
I believe the old town is more manueverable and easier to go backwards in. Everyone has their opinion but old town works very well for us. Thanks for watching!!!!
Serene paddling for the first 3 minutes, but glad to see you get on some fish. The catfish that you say you caught, are they Hardheads and are they edible?
@leovasquez5016 Yes I love those calm mornings. Yes they were hard heads. I've heard that you can eat them but it depends on personal taste. Thanks for watching!
Nice video David, your wife is always slaying those black drum 👌👌👌
@AdrianMtz222 Yes Sir she has the gift. 😁 Thanks for watching!
Those were fun to catch! 🎣The last one had me turned around, good thing kayak has reverse peddling. 😄
Where did you all launch from?
We launched from the flats on the north side of the SPI convention center. Thanks for watching.
Texas Grand Slam! Black drum, flounder, red fish, trout and even a robin fish as a bonus. 😃I did get one that broke off an and took my lure. 😑Catch and release on this day. 👍
Nice day, bud!
Yes Sir. Thank you for watching. I have subscribed to your channel!!!
Did you say first keeper in the New Yak. All those Drum look perfect size. And saving wildlife
@WolfsFishing Yes Sir...first keeper fish with regard to size buddy. Catch and release that day. Doing our part. 😁
Great video is that spot shallow enough to wade fish
The area is shallow enough but the floor is soft mud. I recommend using a kayak. Thank you for watching Sir. Tight lines!!!
Man that looks like fun… Is that north of the convention center?
Yes Sir north of convention center. Thanks for watching. 👍
David…I’m totally new to kayak fishing…will this Saturday be a good day to be out fishing…by the convention center
It's always best to check the wind forecast and tides. There is a tournament this Saturday so it might be crowded. It is a good place to practice kayaking for sure. Go with a friend and thanks for watching Sir.
Wow that area looks great for kayaking but just curious how long does it take to pedal to that spot and what’s the water depth in that area?
It is a great area. The water depth varies with the tide. You need to be careful where you park and know the high tide time. It doesn't take long at all to get around. Thanks for watching.
My wife and usually go out kayaking but she tends to get a bit nervous with water depths deeper than 5 ft. That’s why I was asking.
@@artcortez9747 I'm always here for any tips or advice. I would recommend the area is rarely deeper than 5ft.
Nice
heck yea bro. love those flounder
And they love you too sir. 😁
Great video! Nice catch too!!
Great video brotha!! Keep it up
good job!!!
Thank you sir appreciate it and thank you for watching!

1/4 oz
That was 🔥. Nice job!
Thank you Sir appreciate it. Thanks for watching!

Dead shrimp on the bottom
Dude ,one after another. He k of a day

Thanks for viewing appreciate you.
dude y'all were on the fish all nice ones too
Awesome vid bro and nice catches. I have never been to that area but I got to check it out after watching your video. Did you use live bait or lures?
Thanks brotha. We were using dead shrimp. We tried using lures for trout but they were not biting on that.
Nice video bro🤘🏽 looks like a nice place to fish. Location if you don’t mind ?
@@RobertRedix South Padre Island convention center flats head north to the channels.
Sometimes they just don't want the plastic bro. Going to check that place out soon. Thanks bro.@@Yakmandave
