Planting native plants in urban and suburban settings to benefit all wildlife from little mason bees in your front yard to bison herds that stampede through downtown main street AND look pleasing to you or have an edible/medicinal use.

[Miniature] Panther attacks from a tree
Переглядів 685Місяць тому
Both Leopards in the old world and Cougars in the new world are sometimes called Panthers. Both fill the same ecological niche and have the same attacking strategy: pouncing, usually from above.

what is that pink thing in her back?
That is her harness, for attaching a leash and taking her for a walk. She likes going on walks in the woods, forest preserves, parks, and places to meet people.
@@restorationlandscapingkankakee appreciate the answer mate
My Xena is exactly the same! It kills me!
Sweet!
I wish more companies would landscape with natives. Milkweeds, nodding onions, etc...
This McDonald's franchise (Kankakee Co. and southern Will Co.) did for 15+ years. But then two years ago they were sold to a different family. Now this planting, and most of the others, are gone because the new landscapers just sprayed Round-Up on everything.
Formerly: Court St. Kankakee-- Whorled Milkweed and Hello Yellow Milkweed 5th Ave. Kankakee-- Spider Milkweed Bradley-- Butterfly Milkweed St.George-- Rose Milkweed & Whorled Milkweed Manteno-- Whorled Milkweed & Purple Milkweed Peotone-- Whorled Milkweed, Swamp Milkweed, Common Milkweed, and Butterfly Milkweed Now I think there is only some Butterfly Milkweed left at Peotone.
Her jacket is so stylish 😻🖤
Pretty name for pretty kitty ❤❤❤
Petty baby😊
Cat
Beautiful sweet sleek miniature black panther.
What's the difference between a thicketing and non-thicketing tree? Heck what is thicketing?
Thank you.
That's great. Shows you what we could do if we wanted to.
Blud found out about the wonders of the world 💀
The opossum is speaking too softly to hear.

A Carpenter Bee.
You're right! I thought Carpenter Bees were smaller. entomology.ca.uky.edu/ef611
I've been seeing a lot of these in Florida I'd love to know what type of bee this is

Good luck mate
why is it in a cage???
He got caught in a trap meant to relocate squirrels across town (1-3 miles). But because he is an opossum, he needs to be relocated OUT of town (10-20 miles) and AWAY from any fast traffic roads. The main cause of opossum casualties is being hit by vehicles.
Why his name is "Comb-Over" ua-cam.com/video/RzDnZ2Z6TY4/v-deo.htmlsi=J74DrShAYDZsRK0K
cool
Do they need stratifying? Do they come back year after year? We have water logged clay yard with no drainage spots too. Can they grow there? Thnx
according to prairie moon nursery, they do not require stratification and they like wet soils
Stratifying INCREASES the germination rate. medium-fast growing large shrub leaves out late in spring flowers mid to late summer medium shade to full sun medium to soggy soil attracts butterflies sensitive to herbicide
Adorable, happy trails.❤️❤️

I have one that looks just like it on the wall of my Man Cave that I shot during the early 80’s here in North Florida before they became Protected by the State due to reduced populations of them.I used to get my limit of (3) every time I went hunting for them. There was a lot of them here.👍
Apparently they are not just another coat color variety, but could have Fox Squirrel genes in them. www.livescience.com/where-did-black-gray-squirrels-come-from.html

Why are you feeding a giant white rat?
They're good for the environment.
I like them because they eat slugs and ticks.

What?
Why are you holding the camera sideways?
I've read that plants in the Rue/Dill Family attract Ladybird Bugs and Black Swallowtail Butterflies.
Just found a baby map turtle, my cat actually brought it in, so now I’m searching my yard for more so can bring over to pond area. May give them a little better chance at life.
Yeay! Is that the closest body of water? Does it connect to a creek or river?
Planting? You mean flowering?
It's too little to be on its own 😘
Aawww too much love thank you
That’s a opossum
Yep a harmless marsupial that eats insects, slugs, fruit, and worms.
