The American way of talking about the time is easier than the British way. For example 12:45 don't push the number of the video Don't care about compressing the video time, just care about seeing the clock numbers in my comment that I wrote. American way is easy It is twelve forty five 🇺🇸❤ British way is hard It is a quarter to one 🇬🇧❤
Hi, how are you? Thanks for your comment. Yes, in British English there are two ways to tell the time which understandably can be confusing for learners! The British (British people) understand both ways though.😁
@@GetEnglishFitwithJane I'm fine thank you You are welcome 🌟✨

Good evening! How are you? Thank you for your comment. I'm pleased you found the lesson clear.

Good morning Joshua. Thank you so much for your lovely comment, it is much appreciated.😊 Where are you from?
@@GetEnglishFitwithJane Thanks ever so much teacher your words are beautiful 😃 Well, am from Kenya and will listen to you until my accent changes. By imitating your pronunciation daily people think am British 😂🤣
@@joshuamutombo4927 Hello to you in Kenya, Joshua. Ha ha, that's great! Keep practising your British accent then! 😃 Joshua, when we refer to ourselves using the verb 'to be' we must use the subject 'I'. Therefore you can say... I am from Kenya or I'm from Kenya.😃👍
If someone says it's half nine, do they mean it's 9:30 or 8:30?
Hello Edward! Thank you for your question.😊 'It's half nine' means 'It's 9:30'. - That could be 9:30am or 21:30pm though, depending on the context.
Thanks Jane! Been watching @thematarmstrong rebuild crashed supercars and need to learn a few expressions in the King’s English. ;-)

Hi Jane, I have a question to ask. If I see the ground is wet because of the rain but it isn’t raining anymore, then what do I say? It has rained or It has been raining? Or I can use both? Could you give me a clear explanation, please? Thanks!
Hi Hojteenn!🤗 Thanks for your question! If the ground is wet but it has stopped raining, grammatically, the best answer would probably be 'It has rained'. The Present Perfect (has/have + past participle) usually indicates something that happened in the past but which has a result that is still true now. = The ground is wet. Instead, when we use the Present Perfect Continuous (have/has been + verb + ing) it usually refers to something that has been happening up until now but where there is often the possibilty that the action will continue. = Maybe it will continue raining. In complete honesty though - the two examples are very similar and native English speakers like myself would probably use the two interchangeably, with no difference in meaning. I hope that helps😊 Let me know if you have any more questions.
Are you British?
Hello there! 😊 Yes I am British - I'm from England. And you?
