The rod is a KCustom rod built on a MHX medium light blank and the reel is a lews speed spool.

I’ve only caught a handful of them but I really love their color patterns!

@ I hear you I’m closer to fresh water rivers that leads to brackish & saltwater. Mostly bass, crappie, speckled trout, flounder, redfish pretty much what would be expected. Hopefully one day I can venture some place different. Those places you fish are so beautiful & admire you pick up the trash that ppl leave behind. Keep up the great videos.. 👍

You’re welcome! The color I used in the video is their 1970s motor oil I believe. I usually run olive green/creek chub colors. Seems to work well most days.

One time my dad took me and brother crappie fishing at cataract. I had the job of putting the fish in the basket. I forgot to latch the bottom and when we boated back the bottom sprung open and out went our dinner! My dad was not very happy either 😂 still to this day I zip tie the bottom flap on my baskets.

It’s my favorite way to fish! I’ve been on the lakes and it’s just not the same. Having nature surrounding you, walking up on deer and turkey. It’s hard to beat that alone and then you also get to catch fish? Shew count me in!

I appreciate your concerns but what you don’t see is me putting the fish in the water between shots. I take great care of the fish I catch. I’ve fished this creek for a long time and have yet to see a floater.

Awe that’s a shame 😢 hard to trust water after that.

I fish normal spots but not all of them. If you have a say half a mile of creek you know really good. You know where fish usually are in be deeper sections. Could be 3 feet of water. A lot of those same fish stay during the winter and are heavily feeding on key days during winter. The rest of the time they’re sub hibernating inside under cuts, rootballs, and large rock formations.

It can be tough in the winter but I’m right there with you! Looking forward to some spring fishing too. Most days the winter will have you thinking there’s nothing there and then other days you wonder where they’re all coming from 😂

Awesome man, I'm always down for a trip with a fellow Hoosier. What area are you in? I’m based in Owen county just north of Monroe. I fish about a 50 mile radius around me. With the areas you fish you drive past this creek and two other great ones.

2 feet at the shallowest. I try to target the deepest parts followed by shallow runs. It could be a foot of water that leads into a deep pool or a shallow run that has 2 feet deep pockets along it. Having a bass as a pet has taught me they don’t really move around much at all throughout the day and seem to just want to be in one spot most of the time. Mine won’t even move towards food if it’s dropped in on the opposite side of the tank. It’s like they have a one track mind and if food shows up somewhere they will sit and wait in one spot for food to come to them.

@@PuddleWalkersOutdoors I went fishing this morning for a few hours. Bluegill fishing in my buddies pawn in Alexandria Kentucky. Caught 4 bluegill,one was 8 inches long,about a pound maybe a little under. There is some good size bluegills in his pond. I also caught a small large mouth bass,a little guy. Last year,I caught a 16 pound flat head catfish out of his pond,the same day I also caught a 7 pound channel cat and almost caught a 10 pound carp. The carp came off the hook before I could get him on the bank. I didn’t bring my net that day and paid a big price for it. But I did get that 16 pound catfish on the bank. My buddy held my pole and I went in after that bad boy! My shoe got wet,but I caught the fish! Haha.
