I thought I had the rusty mg gt on the planet....lol😅
I'm curious how progress is coming on the 3.4L V6 conversion. I have a '71 MGB GT and considering a similar swap.
Would a 4.8 l.s fit
I like it two thing intank fuel tank and motor wiring harness thks
Hey man! I hope the project is still going great! Are you going to upload more videos in the near future?
Just found your channel ,keep the videos coming and by the way what is the name of the kit you are using.
Great video! I'm doing the same conversion to my 1969 MGB GT. I will be following very closely. I have talked to Brian at BMC before and, as you say, VERY knowledgeable. BMC has all the parts to make this possible. Please don't hesitate to talk about any mistakes you may make. That's really where a person learns. I would rather learn from your mistakes than mine.
Hmm I think it would have been a good idea to remove the heater box before hammer in the dents for the engine. It can be tough to get out under normal circumstances. Hope for you that it works out
Interesting look forward to following along
It should still move really good though.
These engines really need long tube headers no cat and straight pipes dyno proven 20plus hp at 5500rpm the heads need to be polished at least. And cam wise the comp cams 1000 to 5000rpm 440in 440ex is what wakes it up. And sunce this will be a car that goes 0 to 75 for some fun fast and cruise on the hwy for good mpg long tube headers will give you for sure 3 to 5mpg i was getting 33mpg on the hwy with a built up 2.8bored 30 over. I know there's not alot of room for headerz but i would find a way to get them in there
You will have to change the diff ratio from 4:1 to 3.5:1 or 3:1 if you want usable power and not be overwhelmed by the extra torque produced by the V6.
Cool, I'm putting the gm 4.3 in mine
Hey, would you know how much a GM 60 degree V6 with aluminum heads weights?
about 350 lbs, close to the 4 cylinder weight
Hi Mark - enjoyed the video. You may know this already but you have asbestos over your transmission tunnel. Take great care removing it. Get professional help that’s what I did. Good luck
Where did you get the kit?
Brian at BMC He is very knowledgeable and has done several bmcautos.com/parts/v6-engine-conversions
Nice job so far. You obviously purchased a kit for the engine swap. What is the kit?
Thanks for watching. Brian at BMC He is very knowledgeable and has done several bmcautos.com/parts/v6-engine-conversions
Thanks Mark. Great video. You mention “ the kit” multiple times. What is the kit you are using?
Thanks so much for watching Brian at BMC He is very knowledgeable and has done several bmcautos.com/parts/v6-engine-conversions
Thanks for making this video! I’ve been considering this engine swap as a project and it helps to know ahead of time!😊
Good video! I'm in the middle of the same engine swap, but into an 85 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 that originally had the 2.8. I'm currently working on pinning out the ecm from the 94 camaro. It's tedious work for sure, and there is not much info out there.
Following!
Thanks for sharing. I want to do this to a B. Have to find the right car at he right price first.
Hey, any chance you might have the dimensions of the Chevy 3.4 V6? I have a Volvo 1800ES, and I think the Volvo engine bay is a little bigger than the MG.
Thanks Mark, I am about to start down the same path on my 73 Roadster, I agree there is not much out there on builds so looking forward to watching more from you and hope you stay ahead enough of me for more tips!😃
might be worth getting an intake from a fwd car to get some more hood clearance, also curious if there was a packaging issue that made you go with the 3.4 over a 3.8. looking forward to seeing how this comes together.
