      could be tire, wheel hub, brakes, something rubbing on tire, etc. best to look up in there and see if anything looks rubbed on, if not, check tire for weird wear patterns, if not, jack up wheel and spin tire around and see if you hear it, check brakes and hub/bearings

    Thank you for the video! As far as removing the 4 bolts, if the flange is stuck, would it be possible to place a flat piece of steel between the bolt head and wheel hub and just turn the bolts and let them seperate the flange to the plate?

    • @joyofwrenching
      @joyofwrenching 3 дні тому

      you know...that may work, but if it's super stuck in place, I'd recommend a hub buster or even putting a big pipe wrench on the hub where the wheel lugs are and striking that with a hammer. if you turn the retaining bolts against a plate and it's really stuck, you could round off/break/strip those bolts in a worst case scenario, but I like your thinking!

    Thanks again for posting your video on this knuckle removal. I spoke to a mechanic and he steered me away from a donut compressor, said I should instead buy an electric impact driver, that the PSI of a small compressor wouldn't take off those ribbed 21mm bolts. So Harbor Freight had a 50% off sale, so now I've moved up into the shade tree mechanics world by buying my first impact driver and set of metric impact sockets. Woohoo! Tomorrow I'll be sitting on my rumpus in the driveway with a new impact tool. I can't wait. And I purchased another sensor because this one is frozen in solid. All in all, sincere "Thanks!" If I need any advice removing this knuckle, I just rewind your video. Happy Memorial Day Coach!

    This is bad advice. Don’t put WD-40 on your wiper blades. It may seem fine for a few days, but this “fix” will be short-lived. WD-40 is petroleum based, and will react with the rubber blades, causing them to break down even quicker. It you really want to lube those blades up, go with a silicone lubricant and you should be good to go. I believe WD-40 actually makes one.

    Always lower the vehicle to the ground, then torque the bolts to factory specs. Torquing the bolts without the weight of the vehicle on them is not to factory spec. Otherwise great video. I have a big problem with your how-to video here. First of all, you're smiling and friendly, qualities not typical for a mechanic. Typical mechanics around here are psychotic, sarcastic pricks. Another thing, that undercarriage is clean. I've eaten off plates dirtier than that. And, your sensor just came out of there way too easy. Lastly, I busted my favorite socket wrench trying to loosen those two 21mm bolts with the ribbed ends. I was on the right end but they were impacted on so tight, only another impact driver could loosen them. Serves me right. I've have to invest in a donut compressor to use at home. All in all your video gave me the confidence to do it myself, but the reality was very different. Please keep posting videos though. I'm looking to get my certification in "shade tree mechanics". Thanks ago Coach on these Jeep videos. :) Much appreciated.

      Thanks for your time. I have 2 of the same car. Swapped all 4 rims/tires and sound stays w/ original car. Rwd so no cv axle. It sounds like front left. It did start after putting new rotors on. I’ve been meaning to switch them with the ‘good’ car and see if that works. It almost seems like lifting the car resets the issue. I can often go 10-100+ miles without hearing the sound after an attempt at fixing.

      Mine did the same thing. I just replaced the blower motor and it’s not even blowing at all. But I had the motor burn out while I was on the highway.

    I am currently going through the same issue as soon as the mopar thermostat got replaced, it has not been fixed. I tried another mopar part and it didnt work, then i bought an autozone one and here we are looking at your video, i ordered an aluminum part and taking my chances while i can get a better one- im frustrated as a girl that can't fix her own rig i must have a mechanic fix it and pay labor fees.

    Thank you, i bought a similar set and it came with directions but i can read it a million times and not have a clue on what i am doing, the visual explanation was awesome and easy to understand what you were doing. Thank you again sir, I really appreciate the time and patience you had explaining everything thoroughly.
