Hi, thanks for this video but do you know where the sd card location is for the sat nav update? Hyundai dont tell us 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks for this video, extremely helpful. I just bought a 16 Wrangler sport and it does this but only when the RPM get to 3k or towing. Just changed the T-stat and it got better but still runs warm. I will be checking for air now.
Glad you found it helpful, and I hope you find the issue quickly and it's no big deal to fix. Keep the joy of wrenching!
Nice
@@CHEAPROLLIN thank you
My 2014 was bouncing between 215-245 at all speeds. With it at 215 or so I slowly opened the radiator cap just enough to bleed of the pressure, then removed cap and added about a quart to top it off. Now it stays at 202-212 degrees at any speed. Setting still the fans kick on at about 220 and cools it back down to 202-205. Note- this was after I opened the thermostat bleed valve until liquid came out. Apparently still had a little bit of airlock.
seems tough to get all the air out sometimes. Thanks for sharing your experience, and be careful opening those radiator caps!
Of all the Ranger service videos I have watched, this is the best. Great job!
Well hey! I sure appreciate that feedback my friend. Keep the joy in wrenching!

Hi there, my JK has the same issue. I already changed the thermostat, water pump, radiator cap. Even the radiator was flushed and new coolant was added and I still have the same issue. Any recommendations? P.D cooling temperature sensor was also changed, thanks!
if there's nothing blocking airflow through the radiator, chances are you got a bad new thermostat so swap it out again.
the most idiot proof way to do it is drive it and if the noise gets louder its a bearing. always good to verify which wheel its from as shown in the video
To the OP : Your sir are the Bob Ross of mechanics! 😂 Absolutely great instructs!

You made it look easy. Just curious is strut replacement on a 2016 Acura MDX easier or harder than the Explorer?
Imagine your pops teaching you like this 😂😂😂😂
we might have taken to it a bit better than when he just cussed at us for not holding to flashlight in the right place🤣
Is the rear replacement any different?
There’s no way to be sure without looking at the parts while you tug at the wheel
This is EXACTLY what I HEAR‼️‼️
Just did this job on both sides the other day. Tip (if replacing all hardware), remove the retaining clips first with a flathead screwdriver and hammer, just put flathead screwdriver on clip middle and hammer it down. They pop right off. This will make taking the shoes and springs out way easier, no sense in fighting the old springs. Also, learned the hard way, if you replace the drums (like I did), make sure you remove the ABS magnetic rings off the old drums and put them on new drums carefully. I learned the hardware after putting it all back together and getting ABS and traction control light on.....OBD Scanner said ABS sensor missing......learned about the magnetic rings....... Also, I liked to clean up the adjuster with a wire brush. Make sure the adjuster moves freely. I cleaned it all up with brake cleaner and brush and once cleaned all up, but a small amount of anti-seize on it to make sure it doesn't seize up.
Not all ford focus springs top long spring goes in the same way and you can install the top long spring just as how you install the top short spring first easy way.
Good tips there, thanks for sharing!
That was smooth and easy instructions..THX FOR SHOWING ME ..THIS WILL SAVE ME 7 TO 8 HONDOS ..YOU HAVE A NEW SUBSCRIBER..THX
Yes! That's what this is all about man, now go do something great with that money you saved yourself.
Had this exact issue with mine. Same Motorad thermostat. It lasted less than a year.
Dang! Hate that, but hopefully you got a good one now
Thanks.
you bet!
Worked like a charm. Thanks for that.
Sweet, glad it worked for you!
My steering wheel shakes at higher speeds even after getting a wheel alignment when I let go, the steering wheel swerve to the right. What could it be? Bad wheel hub?
could be, or could just be some other part of suspension and steering system that's worn out, this wiggle test should help you find it.
I have a different car but with the same problem if not identical problem based on the simulations you've done, I might actually need to to replace my thermostat because of this. Thank you
I hope you get to the bottom of that soon and this helps, just be sure to check the radiator for obstructions first, could be blocking airflow and fooling you.
its the thermostat cheap ones make these run at 230 or higher. i put a 180 in and its perfectdead center.
That's one way to handle it
You've just answered nothing you fucking idiot
Dean Cain straight killing the mechanic game. Thank you so much for the help! 2012 Tahoe 5.3.. this video was a game changer!
haha, haven't heard that in a while (since i've been going grey), but thanks for watching, and I hope this helped you out!
Is that the same for a 2019 jeep compass?
should be very similar
My car was running fine until I took it to a garage when I got the car back it was idling rough the mechanic said he would do a tune-up for $750. Either he did something to it to rip me off.
I sure hope not...if you even suspect they are shady, don't take it there, ask around for a good place
The tires are worn out!
yes, the bad shocks will wear out tires like this very fast
Continental are garbage, don't repair. They are not worth it.
thank you i will definitely take note of this for future reference as well, single mom dv survivor with no help so i am learning to take care of me and my daughter cause i think i have a bad wheel beating so i will check today my daughter's safety and mine is priority cause i cant afford a mechanic shop to do it currently
Same for me except I have 3 kids. I've fixed so much on my car myself I could probably get certified as a mechanic 😂
So you’re saying you are single
If you don't live above the Mason / Dixon line, that looks like an easy Job.
yes, we are blessed with less rust, but if you do have that problem, changing the bigger parts like the whole knuckle is easier than fighting the little ones which will be seized with rust
Isn’t that Escalade AWD?
I think it was.
Can a steering rack and pinion cause the same cupping?
good question, but I'd say probably not since it is caused by the tire bouncing up and down really fast
Can you elaborate why it didnt overheat at idle if thermostat was stiking closed ..or could it be that the bypass valve was faulty .dont really know whats the purpose of bypass valve or simtoms but hipe u can explain
I'm no expert of course, but I think it has to do with just enough flow at idle through the bypass to keep the engine cool, but when the engine is really generating heat at higher rpms, the thermostat is too closed to allow sufficient flow to cool it down
Have to change my thermostat 3 times in 3 months got an oem from mopar on the way now
sure hope that cures your issues!
Thanks for the tip about throwing it in N while driving. 👍
you're welcome! Thanks for watching
Not always when a bearing is about to lock up there will be no play. I just replaced one. the only way I knew was the sound of the bearing on the road. It sounded lie tire noise.
They can have many telltale symptoms, so true
i have the same symptoms but have a P271E code. Could this be the same fix?
Thanks....for posting. See:. ""No sleep til brooklyn"" no calls in Tampa
Great video thank you
Thank you
Mine is a more squeaky tick chev Tahoe 5.3 2001 8cyl only does it if car been running for a while an get faster n louder with acceleration
I have a ticking video that doesn’t sound like these in my engine on my 2020 Silverado RST 5.3. If you want I can send the video to you and you can use it in a video. I’ve taken it to Chevy and they say “it’s fine”. But it’s so loud. I’m afraid it’s the lifters but they want my warranty to run out. I can send it to a email.
I sure hope it's not the lifters, but they are a common failure point. In my experience, video noise diagnosis is not my strong suit, so no need to share, but I sure hope you can get an honest answer from someone local

This is a small video I make of a different sound, you’re welcome to use it. Yeah I’m not sure what it can be. It drives me crazy to the point of wanting to trade it in.
