Ape Fight from THE BATTLE WIZARD (1977)
Переглядів 402 місяці тому
An amazing fight scene from the bizarro Shaw Brothers extravaganza, THE BATTLE WIZARD (1977), in which Danny Lee (later star of CITY ON FIRE (1987), John Woo's THE KILLER (1989) and THE UNTOLD STORY (1993)) must swallow a magic frog to defeat the cheapest-looking 'guy-in-a-gorilla-suit' ape in cinema history (and that's saying something!). Normally inter-cut with another wild fight scene, with ...

Another episode from the rather obscure TV suspense anthology series, PANIC! (aka NO WARNING), which originally aired in 1957-58 on NBC. This episode, "Reincarnated", stars stage and screen actress June Havoc (see in such films as BREWSTER'S MILLIONS ('45), GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT ('47), THE STORY OF MOLLY X ('49), lots of TV guest star shots in the 1950s-1980s, and was the real-life sister of bu...

The mentality of a son or daughter of Satan is to use Goya to attempt to insult Puerto Ricans there's two kinds of people in this world the weeds are those with that mentality the tares are those who look down and are appalled at their mentality hatred those who see treat each other as brothers and sisters then you have those who will remain vanquished exiled lost thinking themselves to be something they are not lacking everything that is Godly while people actually are evolving while Satan's slaves remain in the wilderness serving their fallen leader

I owned one as a young boy and it indeed shot a mass of air 15-20 feet. It felt like someone tapped you on the chest from way across the room. It was quite loud also. We could easily shoot ornaments from the tree . It strangely disappeared one day with no explanation from my parents. The commercial is not fake and no projectiles were needed. A video on line showing one apparently was not in proper working order. I am genuinely telling you it really packed a punch of air 15 feet, at least

According to Wikipedia, after the collection moved from Rye Brook, NY to Boca Raton, FL in 1996, where it became The International Museum of Cartoon Art, before closing in 2002, it was merged with The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, affiliated with Ohio State University, in 2008. Cartoonist Billy Ireland was a huge influence on and mentor to Milton Caniff and other top cartoonists of the day, like Noel Sickles. The merged collection is now much larger than what is seen in my video upload above, as it has also gained collections donated by other many cartoonists since then, such as Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes). Located in Columbus, OH, It is both a research library and museum gallery. To see what it's like, look up these two videos on UA-cam: 'CXC 2020 Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum' (made during pandemic restrictions) and 'Virtual Tour of "The Dog Show: Two Centuries of Canine Cartoons" with Curator Brian Walker' (made a couple of years ago, after Covid restrictions were lifted). I've never been there (it looks like a nice place), but here is a link their website, with all the pertinent info: cartoons.osu.edu/

Since most kids who would’ve played with that toy are 65 to 75 now I’m wondering if the people who would even know what this toy is will be around much longer to pay for it. I’m only fascinated by the sonic blaster for how ridiculous of a toy it really is when it comes down to it I guess basically it’s kinda like having a M 80 sound that comes out of a toy that you hold so I guess for a eight year old boy that would be pretty cool. I giggle when I shoot it off. And then I scratch my head. There is a guy on eBay that has an original in the box with all the accessories. He wants $12,000 for it not 1200 12,000.00. Of course, he’ll never get that but it’s interesting

The zero m spy rifle, I have that as well. To me it more like a gag toy. Ya walk in holdin your radio and BAM you hit the button an it turns into an easily broken cap gun..lol. I mean to a kid..that’s probably cool. To me, as an adult it’s just a funny toy and a conversation piece I guess. Like I said, I was a new born when these toys were literally being made. 1964

This may seem off-topic here, but it isn’’t. Alice Walker (the author) lost sight in one of her eyes’ because her brother shot a bb gun at her. My point? I have none, just that as much as people like to say that the US is more violent now, I say, “Nah, it’s been violent from the beginning”. I mean, what do you call riding in a train across the plains and shooting buffalo after buffalo to the point of near extinction? Or wolves? Or Grizzlies? Or Indins? These toy gun ads increased dramatically in the 50’s after overall real firearm sales dropped off in the general market. That’s why names like Winchester and Remjngton worked closely with Mattel R&D. It was to whet appetite for firearms even though there were no more Indins, buffalo’s etc to kill. I own firearms myself (horrors! only two!) so I don’t object to guns on principle, but our appetite for goods in this country seems to be based less on need than the urgings of corporations. Just some rambling thoughts…
