absolute class !
Is your whole drum bus reverb dry? Wanna know how to mix on reverb particularly at house music
I usually have a send track with 100% wet reverb for my Drums and I send what drums I want to that. So my claps, hats, certain percs, you don’t have to send everything just whatever sounds best to you. I also do this for my synths and vocals and have a send for each that I then EQ amd mix into the track.
@@jimi_latifi OMG Thank you so much for replying. and how many types of reverb do you use for each instrument, like hall for synth, plate for drums, etc? or just one for all lol
@@tachy9093 depends what I’m after really. Usually make a Hall reverb for my Vocals and Synths, sometimes I use a Room or Plate for Drums. It all depends on what you want in your track really.
This suddenly appeared on my feed. Thanks - really helpful 🍻
Hot since 82 vibe about this track
Hey man just wondering if you remember the name of the sample pack you used? Particularly the drums. I see the name of the kikc file is "DTH" maybe "Deep Tech Houses"? Thanks man great tut!
Just checked my sample library and I have a Deep Tech House pack from Cr2, that might have been it!
@@jimi_latifi thanks a lot man really appreciate you checking and getting back to me. Really great tut, it’s hard to find that Marco Carola, Loco dice thick drum sound. Great stuff 👍
So good! Thank you
How did you learn to produce like this mate?? Thanks for the vids, great info I’m always worried about making my mix muddy and frighten to layer as much but you have shown me that body and thickness is super important also. So thanks brother!
who ever disliked this probably listens to psytrance
Are psytrance, and house people at odds with each other?
@@spacedoohicky no. Imo psytrance is shit
man that vocoder on the hat tip, woulda never thought to use that
Thank you mate! Hope you are well, sick to see you have been absolutely smashing it recently
Amazing tutorial so detailed boss! Probably a silly question but are all of your samples sliced to MIDI and dropped into an empty simpler?
Thanks mate! All my samples are either One Shots, a drum sound taken from loops or samples from other tracks then put into simpler.
Legend lad appreciate it!
Need more tutorials! Hope we can get some more soon. Beats are clean af
Promise I’ll make more soon!
Muuuuuuch appreciated, buddy! Thx a whole bunch!
@@craigconnelly9242 haha he did?
@@craigconnelly9242 Lol, I never knew. Pretty disgusting, doesn't make the tutorial less valuable though..
Can you send me the finished version?
Great tutorial man !
Great video men! Can you make one for the process on the bass? thanks so much
Just used these tips to make a tune. Check it out...
Sup Mistrix, really enjoyed the tut and I am also a big fan of your music. Thanks! I had one question that has been causing a lot of headaches lately. The issue is about mixing kick and clap together. Let's say I mix my kick in at -8dB and the clap would sit at -10dB. The summed signal is usually much higher than -8dB, typically 3-4dBs higher. This is obviously less than ideal because those peaks will get squashed a lot in the final mix and the drums will sound pretty rubbish. I tried many things but nothing seems to work seamlessly. I tried shifting clap few ms before or after the kick, choosing different samples that would gel together better, sidechaining the clap to the kick (this method kind of works as it reduces the peaks the most, but it usually sounds unnatural and kills the groove), compressing and saturating the hell out of drums (and parallel compression) etc. I am honestly lost at this point. I noticed in your track and in many other producers' tracks the kick and clap do not cause big spikes in volume when they play together, yet they both sound loud and do not seem to be overcompressed. What's the secret here?
Hey mate, thanks for the kind words I'm glad you're enjoying my music! Usually, I use about 3 different samples for my kick and my clap. So I use a Sub Kick, Mid Kick and Top Kick. All different samples but in the same key and layer them together. I then group them and process them again within the group. When doing the claps I usually pick a Center Clap, Left Clap & Right Clap. I make sure they all peak at the same level (usually -18dB on each channel) and again I group them and process them as one. Most of the time I add some saturation, some EQ to clean them up a bit and take out some harsh frequencies and then add some slight glue compression. Then once I have most of my drums in and all this is done, I then group all my drums together and usually add some slight saturation again, some Mid/Side EQ, do some Parallel Compression and any other bits after that. It's hard to explain here but I'm planning on uploading more videos soon and I can explain more in detail and show exactly what I do there!
@@jimi_latifi Really appreciate this man! I also can't wait to hear your next funky tunes. 🧨
@@jamesblack993 No problem! Have a good few tracks lined up and I'm working on an album as we speak, so there is plenty to come.

Subscribed one minute into the video, this is probably one of the most helpful videos I've watched on processing drums in general. Straight forward and easy to follow, the track sounds serious man keep it up.
Aaron Walsh thanks for the feedback and the sub! Glad you found the video helpful also!
Your tutorials are amongst the best I've seen. Please make some more.
Great tutorial.
WTF, you are so fast 🤪 I had to replay several times 😂. Why do you use only audio tracks instead of midi, any quality benefits? where do you get your samples? cheers Daniel ps yes please finish the track it remembers me like purple machine 👍
Dan Silver the reason I’m using a lot of audio tracks in this one of because I’m sampling another track. For original track I use mostly midi. And I get my samples from splice mostky
