Yes and the taxes are outrageous plus yo.u forgot one thing You can buy land but then you can't do what you want to do on the land. Or build anything or change anything. You have to go through all these permits and stuff. It's like buying a car and then the gas station refuses to sell you gas. But if you don't believe me come up here and try it you'll see. Good luck getting a permit for a septic tank or even a mound system and if it's a more elaborate system but the state requires be prepared to pay 25 to $30,000 on it. 8 ft of snow b******* The last 15 years we were lucky to get two feet liars . It's been so bad some years they can't even run snow machines. And the ski area is only has snow because they pump the water up the mountain. if you can call them mountains they're more like large mole hills ride up the chair lift and then 5 minutes later or less you're at the bottom of the mountain. Plus the state don't put any salt on the roads so chances are you'll slide off the road That's their way keeping the repair shops and business because business up here is appalling. Plus there are no real vermonters that lived here for generations anymore it's all movins and flatlanders and they all have rotten attitudes. There's no more kind small farmer down the road so come on up and see try it out I dare you if you think I'm kidding I'm not

Some parts of Vermont will have “winter” for six months, like higher elevations and the far northern tier. But I was in WRJ along the CT river last month right before thanksgiving and it was cool but not winter. I suspect for many places in Vermont winter is December thru March. And away from rural areas with dirt roads, as long as roads and travel / walking areas are paved the mud can’t be that bad. Economic issues are a different matter and I would move to VT without employment due to higher costs of living. But not getting stuck in traffic and having clean air to breathe makev up for it. And I don’t mind at all supporting local business instead of Walmart. Or paying taxes so people are taken care of and polluting industries aren’t needed to support the economy at the cost of the environment. Access to healthcare is a concern so people like me and my wife in our 60s would pick a place with better access. For younger people, a smaller town might be okay. At least even rural schools are good in VT. Not many rural locales can say that. Vermont is a unicorn among the states so some stats matter and some don’t. It may not be a place to get rich or climb that corporate ladder, but for a safe and balanced life away from the crowds while not dumbing it down, VT is it for me.

Fix the road from St.Johnsbury to Montpellier because I hit the same potholes I did in 1973.

UTA Arlington is wonderful school. They have great theatre and basketball. College is not about partying but education. Academy of Art university of san francisco should be on worst school list not UTA. For bad teachers, high cost and low graduation rates

They say it takes seven generations to ‘become a vermonter’. I was a stranger in the kingdom. I fell in love there. Having been born and raised under the napoleonic code I found the British common law system just way to Cold. It’s cold up there and it’s not the weather:)

At 79 and having lived in 5 different countries and 12 different states Vermont is the best of the N E states. It’s the most beautiful and serene. An always present sense of something spiritual like emitting from the ground that the other neighboring states don’t have. Definitely Hobbit Land in the warmer seasons. No trash or graffiti anywhere.

Amazing place to grow up. It’s expensive to live here but it balances out because there aren’t millions of people and you can easily find seclusion and quiet!!! You can actually see the stars at night and there’s so many places to explore.

I personally find Seattle to be filled with low frequency people, no matter what kind of jobs they have. It is immersed with bohemian types, heathens and of course gays. Class is nowhere to be found because this city lacks spiritual substance. And the "freeze" is meant to rob and drain you of your higher frequency substance. They will befriend you when you have lost your glow of life. Or perhaps they might just trample over you. This type of undermining collective thinking is cause for concern. If you are a person of integrity and Spiritual substance it can be hard to find a true church to refuel your spirit. Most of them cater to making gays feel welcome. So the entire congregation becomes reprobates. A city with no spiritual substance is lost. So take heed. You have got to beware of a city whose favorite holiday is Halloween. And not to mention having your lungs filled with cannabis around any corner you turn. Because it's legal.

When I employed a professional license living in Vermont for over 10 years good paying jobs were few. Traveling over unplowed roads in the winter and unpaved roads in the spring was constant. I never had to have a 4 wheel drive till I moved to Vermont. And when the wash outs and floods came it took months to fix them.

Our Transit systems here in our Region are getting deeply worse I'd suggest not to pick anywhere in our Region to live as you can't move freely to not at all due to how bad transit is unless your rich and can afford taking overpriced UBER/Lyft everywhere or unless you like walking for miles on end to get from A to B and repeat back from B to A where you need or seek to go for miles on end for a one way walk in a larger than understood 4 larger than understood Regions to Regions.

City of Pittsburgh and its Center Downtown section has become crime filled by street drug users, LGBTQ, Violent filled crime cesspool areas to where our stores and restaurants have closed do to the crimes and a worthless Democratic criminal setting to our leaders and our criminals and don't do nothing. Our Family Court System are well known to wrongly take bribes to have those in the system to have the judges and forensic Drs. take money from Foster Parents to give Judges bad reports to have children from being reunified with biological parents. Our 5th Circuit Court of Family Division is deeply corrupted.

Lowest crime rate. I wonder if there are any other interesting statistics about Vermont that could be a contributing factor to that.

My VT neighborhood is now full of rich southerners who "don't believe in climate change" but have moved here to escape the effects of climate change. "My neighborhood in Houston never used to flood, now it floods every year, but climate change is a hoax."
