Simple yet effective, thanks for the video! I went another inch deeper on the notch to 3 1/4", so the rocker plate lays flat on the wood(probably differences in China Freight tolerances). Those hard plastic front feet don't help for grip, I'll find some rubber feet caps to fit.

Thanks Bob. I’m hoping it will work with my One RS. My software for that is 2.0.11.4 so I’m leery. Not sure how different the capability of the RS compared to the R Bluetooth affects that version. I’d hoped to be able to use my Sena headset but I’d need to upgrade to the ace pro cam and that would kill my ability to Vlog with my 360 lens which is what I use almost exclusively.

The Insta360 techs had me try 2.0.11.1, but I still wasn't able to connect either my AirPods, nor my InstaMic. All is good though running 1.3.8.1 for now though, until Insta360 gets their act together (hopefully)

Great! Hope it works out for you! (If you do order one, make sure it's from a place you can return it if you don't like it) Regarding the handlebars, those are similar to the stock 'beach bars' that came on the FatBoy (mine was a 2002), except mine were plus sized (can't remember the diameter)... If you watch "T2", those are similar shaped bars Arnold has on his FatBoy.. I really miss having that bike and those bars...for me, I felt I had more control, more maneuverability with those (they were almost like bicycle shaped bars)

I have the Insta360 one rs, and the Instamic pro plus c, I see the airbuds connected both on my phone, and on the 360. But I tested different than you, because my mic wasn't the one recording the sound on the video, it is either my phone or the 360 that is catching my.voice. How do I know which it is? Because I walked away from the video recording device with my mic on person and the sound went away as I walked away. I didn't see you do this, so how do you know it's actually the mic doing the voice recording? I'm still messing with this thing trying to figure out what's wrong over here in my world.

While it doesn't show on the video, I basically went into another room and closed the door, and it still sounded like I was right next to the Insta360 One R. I'm curious what version of software your Insta360 One RS is running...I recently put out an updated video (check it out on my channel) and I'm not able to connect to my One Rs latest firmware (2.0.8.1)...might be different though on a RS?

If I owned a company, I would want my products to sync with everything out there, so the customer base would be very happy. It's just my mindset on if the customers aren't happy, then sales are going to bomb. Yes, I saw you vid, and understand you have the "r". I did a search like you said, even though I searched for the "RS", the "r" firmware still showed up. So I guess there is only one firmware for the "RS"? Excellent video Bob! These seem to be great little mics. I know I went to purchase one a year or two ago and they were all sold out. I wonder if this newer version will also work with the X2. I'm currently considering purchasing the Insta360 Ace Pro so it will connect to my cardo but I would rather wait if I can. All these upgrades can be hard to keep up with and end up costing $$$. It's like everytime you get an upgrade, something else is needed to go with the upgrade. Happy to see you are still making videos ☺

Hello Bob, thanks for getting this video uploaded. Definitely a positive having changed to USB-C connection. I felt your pain with fighting the firmware on your Insta360 camera. It reminded me trying to get a Canon printer/scanner/fax machine hooked to my MacBook Pro computer 😂. I have to admit the audio with the full face helmet was not bad, but I thought it was more impressive with the open face helmet test except at 50 MPH. Where do you have the Instamic located in your helmet relative to your mouth and which mount are you using? You mentioned you are using the windsock; don’t you find this tickles your face. I glued the magnet inside my helmet and have tried several locations inside my HJC modular helmet. I have the Instamic Pro Plus (prev model) and have it with the latest firmware. For some reason, I can’t trust it to always connect to my Insta360 X3 or Ace Pro. I really want to get into Motorcycle vlogging, but it seems I’m always fighting with the Instamic. I’m this close on giving up and purchasing a RODE GO2 system. I’m also retired (68) and I really need to learn and get more experienced with video editing. I love riding my bike and really would like to share some of my riding experiences. Bob, thanks again for the video and feedback on the Instamic. Good luck getting Insta360 to fix the Instamic interface problem. All the Best, James.

First off, thanks for the reply and questions! (I'll be 69 next month, so I've found I'm never too hold to teach this old dog a new trick, or start up a new hobby!) haha So, firmware on the Insta360s...I'll betcha that's your issue with the X3 and AcePro..while their version numbers will be different than mine on the One R, I would suggest loading an earlier version (1 or previous) firmwares for the X3 and AcePro. (i'll have a video out shortly on how to do it for the One R, which may or may not be similar to the X3 and AcePro) While we're talking about your connection issues, please Message the InstaMic CEO Michele Baggio on the InstaMic Facebook page...he will be more than happy to listen to your issue and help with a solution. Michele is a great guy that I've worked with for at least 3-4 years. Now, on to my HJC modular helmet... I find the sound to be clearer with the windsock on..being modular, this helmet does not have a chin seal, so quite a bit of wind comes up from underneath, hence the preference for the windsock. To minimize the 'tickling the lips' issue, I use the 3M tape mount about 2 to 3 inches to the right of center, just below the visor...it tickles my cheek a bit, but I really don't notice it much there I have to admit. Hope some of this helps. BTW, if you have any questions about Vlogging or editing in post, reach out to me...I'd be more than happy to help if I can! Bob

I just applied the VVivid Vinyl to the inside of my Memphis Shade screen. Here is what I learned or did differently. 1. To avoid rubbing the edge of the vinyl, I used 3M Knife Tape to cut the vinyl just inside the edge of the screen and also along the top three bracket holes. (I wanted the metal bracket to cover the edge of the vinyl.) 2. Do NOT use the small adhesive felt pads included with the vinyl or tape to cover the squeegee. The folded corners are sharp and scratch the vinyl. If I had to do it again, I would have used a soft cloth or felt loose against the squeegee edge. 3. Mark the midpoint of the vinyl at the top and bottom along the vertical and draw a line on the backer. Then pull the backing off to expose the midpoint line. Start the application at the midpoint and work your way to the side. Then slowly pull the backer from the other half and squeegee it down as you go. It took about 45 minutes, and I am pretty happy with the final look. Time will tell how it holds up.

Excellent tips Julie ! I especially like tip 1, using the knife tape...I'm getting ready to install vinyl stripes on my Corvette, and was planning on using the knifeless tape (it never occurred to me to try it on the windscreen). Thanks! Bob

Certainly doesnt spoil the look. Im a little pissed that you have to mess around with these to make them rideable. It doesnt tell you about the turbulence when your buying it 🤨

It's like one of those taboo things Harley (or anyone actually) will never discuss. It's an issue that has been around forever...just look up a picture of the old Harley windscreens from the 40s and 50s, as they are huge, trying to prevent the head bobbing issue.

They say "a genius is one step away from insanity"....in my case, that would be a baby step HAHA. Be sure to strap down your bike as soon as you have it on the chock, to be extra safe. Thanks!

When you trimmed the edges, did you trim flush with the inside edge or leave a little and then reheat to shrink it to the edge line? I am getting ready to vinyl my windshield. I also thought about using razor tape and cutting it just inside the edge, so if it shrunk it would look intentional. Any thoughts? Thanks for the video.

Sorry for the delayed response Julie...I just responded to your later comment. So I heated and stretched to the edge, then used my xacto blade to flush cut....I MUCH MUCH prefer your method of the knifeless tape! You're a genius!

An update...the replacement visor HJC sent me got scratched up on the inside again, and I was super careful to only use water and a clean microfiber cloth. They definitely have an engineering problem with the anti-fog they're putting on the inside of the visor.
