BMW R75/5 Airhead, part #5 HD 720p
BMW R75/5 airhead.
This time I am painting the frame.
In my part of the world, sand blasting and powder coating is wery expensive.
The quick and easy solution is to just to sand it down and paint by yourself.
Two cotes of good quality car paint.

I found this old BMW R75/5 in a cold damp garage. It has been sitting in this garage many years. I have no good history and no knowledge of why it has been partly disassembled. This is the start of this project and i have not yet decided what to do, or what direction to take this BMW airhead project. This could turn into a money pit.

Did you replace the big end bearings while you are there?
keep going
Brutal..........
Greetings from the USA. Enjoying your videos very much, you're doing a really nice job. My R75 project is about the same place as yours. Cheers!
Thank you. Going slowly forward, struggling a bit to find quality parts on stock.
Watching with interest. Had a similar issue last year with a seized R50/5. Now you’re this far in, it’s worth stripping the engine right down to check and clean everything. Great work 👍
Very nice video, nice bike and sound. Very nice garden and big potty plants in start of video in the background, yet if only a small garden. Kudos to your wife. keep on. The gauges to the bike shoul be converted to rounded, as they`re the only squared details to otherwise a perfect build. :-D
Definetly worth the effort. At the end you`ve would be blessed wtih the knowledge and satisfaction of making all of this effort anf many a envious looks. Keep ON! 😀
As a fellow co-worker to you and extremely tight to how things should be done in a correct manner - im a bit dissapointed. You should have called me for advises for this. I`ve been watching this over and over again, and every time it hurts my eyes. I have tears... I`m more or less traumatized by all the hammering and all the saws`all engagement.. You owe me a "twist" or two to get my mind back on track. Next time, i`ll tell you how to fix things like this with a coupling nut and a all-thread. ;-) Otherwise, -very much entertainment. 😀
Thank you for your warm comments and support.
So cool! Gave me a good laugh !! Keep going
Why didn't you flood the cylinder with penetrating oil? Surely that would have helped. I vote you turn it into a cafe racer or scrambler. Love the look of these old air heads .
Never go in dry
Great job! Enjoying your progress
Just found your channel. Very entertaining! I laughed out loud at how stuck the piston was. :) I vote you keep going and build it into something cool. I also have a 75/5 I just started restoring and made a couple videos so far on my channel. Maybe we can help keep each other motivated! Cheers from NY USA. :)
Thank you for your comment. I am going away for a job trip now. Will continue the project in about three weeks. I fear this R75/5 is a "basket case" but I am going to make that decision when I have done some more checking. looking forward to check out your videos.
Well that was easy.........👏👏👏👏
Veldig imponerende!
Rått! Det begynner å ligne noe nå!
Very good job!!
👍🏻
Coming together nicely!!
Awesome! Can't wait to see the finished result !
Very nice!
Very good job! Excellent video!
No offense man but during the intro and you went and got beer my first thought was "why is does he have diabetic pisswasser on tap" then it hit me; that's actually beer on tap and you can call me green with envy. Now, on to the build, I bid you great luck and hope that you don't lose any 10mm sockets.
Kult! :D
Imponerende milepæl! 🙂
