I've always enjoyed Junkanoo Beach. Never been "harassed" . However I have noticed that it is much more crowded now than it was a few years ago.

Cruise lines are ditching any elegance or sophistication because many of their cruisers have ditched them…look at clothing, manners, etc…what do you think is going to happen?

Let’s get real…there are nice beaches in lots of places besides these ports…just as there are shops and attractions…use your head…many, if not all, of these, and other ports, are legitimately not safe…period! Being cavalier about these stops is just ridiculous…and there is nothing wrong with staying on the ship and enjoying what is,hopefully, a lovely space…or…pick a cruise that goes to better places!! Use your head!!

Itinerary is the #1 reason for choosing a ship. Often HAL’s smaller ships travel to more interesting places. We sailed Zuiderdam for the Panama Canal.

I’ve been to Nassau in sept. I never had that problem. Yes they did ask me to see their shop.I always present my self with a positive attitude. Don’t act like a timid individual. I always say no thank you and walk away.

We went on our first “ Casino at Sea” cruise this summer and it was fantastic. We have a 2nd one booked for 2025. Would love to see you make a casino cruise video !

Funny that you did a video on this topic. This past January, I went on my first Carnival cruise in over 23 years, and I did happen to notice there weren't any tableclothes in the MDR at dinner. I didn't see this as a big deal at all. I thought, if anything, it may give the often over-worked crews in the dining rooms and the laundry rooms a little LESS workload by having to install, remove, launder, fold, etc. all these tableclothes. I thought, "Hmm, maybe this MIGHT give the crews a little break" (but, I'm sure the few minutes this saves a worker, the cruiseline will just find something else for the worker to do instead, so no real "break" will ever be obtained.) :(

I think the biggest issue with Nassau is the sheer amount of times you end up there. If you decide to frequent cruise, you'll probably be in Nassau in most iteneraries. You can only do so many excursions before you've done all of them 😂

At the Long Beach terminal in the Los Angeles area, they have drug sniffing dogs that check the passenger's luggage after it is unloaded from the ship. They are looking for drugs that people might have smuggled in from Mexico!

Over a period of time my wife became handicapped so being near an elevator was great. Often we had to pay extra to make sure we were near an elevator. If you are in AAA you can also get discounts.

As a long time Carnival cruiser like you that is my go to cruise company. I had John heald serval times a a cruise director. He is by far the best. I have cruise every one of the ship oast and present. In total I have 111 cruises in November on the Carnival Spirit it will be 112. Like you I love John he is the best.

Nice video but i haven't seen any last minute cruises in the last 2 years. We cruise alot at least 6X a year. Every ship we book we check to see any last min deals and for each sailing it's been Zero. Ships are always sold out. I've also signed up for casino offers and in the last 5 years we've gotten Zereo free cruises. No offence but all these ways your saying requires a ton of work which the average cruiser or even a season cruiser is not going to do. Buying all those gift cards thru aarp requires you to input a # on each card before proceeding to check out and you have to go back 5 times to put in each one of those gift cards numbers. 5 best ways to save money. Don't buy the dinning packages don't buy the drink package don't buy the Key on RC don't book shore excursions on the cruise app and stay out of the casino. That's a sure fire way to save money without going thru any hassel or algorithms. P.S don't book an inside cabin you'll never feel like your on a cruise.

We leave on our first cruise Sunday and since I gamble with my slots channel we were able to get a FREE cruise on our FIRST one it is awesome

What about Santorini? You get dropped off at the bottom of a cliff where the options are to pay for the gondola that holds about 20 of 500 people waiting, walk up the hundreds of donkey poo covered steps (no exaggeration), or pay to ride the donkeys up the donkey poo covered steps! Then when you get to the top there is nothing to do. I have been on many cruises and Santorini was by far the biggest disappointment.

You left out San Juan. And some places I have been to many times. The ship is nearly empty, pools and hot tubs are available, spa offers discounts and no lines. I enjoy staying on the ship sometimes.

I have seen a couple of instances when the cruiseline oversold a cruise and those that booked GTY rooms (they got a full refund & a FFC, but it kinds of sucks)

Someone needs to send this video to all the major cruise companies. All five ports are not worth getting off the boat other than to stretch your legs. AKA gym and spa day on the boat.

Last time I was in Nassau my wife and I were sitting on a park bench enjoying the day when a drunk local came up and grabbed my wife and told her that he wanted her to give him a BJ. He got a month full of knuckles instead. It took three other locals to pull me off of him.

I just looked back at photos. We were on a 11-day cruise in December on the Venezia and we had tablecloths .

I had a blast at Costa Mya. Spent very little time are port, mainly hung out at Krazy lobster area, great food, more authentic local art vendors

Great info. Thank you so much, Melissa. Let me pick your brain. I am eyeing a Carnival cruise that disembarks in Galveston, Texas at 8 AM. I would love to book an ideal flight that departs at 1 PM 55 miles away in Houston. Do you think I would be pushing it? Or disembarking Usually a known science of being able to get off the boat for sure by around 10 AM. Just kinda wanna see what your thoughts are with disembarking timing.

"I've been to Nassau more times than I can count." Yes, that's pretty obvious. It's also the cheapest and shortest cruises you can get on Carnival out of Florida. You're like the only UA-camr that cover the Bahamas, which I guess gives you a monopoly on this content. However, nobody is really watching you for the content. If you have it, flaunt it, more power to you.

Maybe things have changed in 20 years, but we had to anchor outside the reef in Belize and were tendered in. We did a river boat cruise up to the ruins and then bussed back. The port area wasn't worth mentioning so that part is right. I never heard of Progresso. I have also NEVER heard of ANYWHERE in Mexico that didn't take dolar$ so that IS weird! And Cozumel doesn't have aggressive vendors? My wife wanted to buy a gold stingray charm. The price tag was kind of vague and we thought it was in USD (55.00) when the peso was an even 10:1; so $55. No, it was 5500 MXP so $550! Thy guy said it was solid gold. Well, we knew that. AND my Mom is a jeweler so we knew better. But he wouldn't back down. Other vendors practically tackled us if we even slowed down an inch per hour and took a glance into the store. I will NEVER set food on Cozumel EVER again!

Go for the longer cruise 🚢 7 days or more , when the kids are in school (college too)…then don’t be drinking in the bar or casino at 2am 🕑. Nothing good comes from that 😂
