Question: For the gun chassis part, it seems like you're supposed to assemble superficial parts of the chassis differently depending on if it's an energy-based weapon or not (for example, the side and interior is different for the rapid fire battle canon). Do people just pick one and not worry that it's not quite correct for the other options?

So the Black Legion contrast is pretty much a one coat black, unlike Black Templar which does more of the dark shadows/lighter highlights effect contrast paints popularized. Would definitely try some of the first gen contrasts or similar products like Xpress color which aren't as pigment saturated

Hey man, found your channel doing a search for Admech content, you've got some good stuff here. I have a rather big, possibly simple question for you! Im way more of a hobbyist than a gamer and more into 30K than 40K but with the new 30K Mechanicum box coming at some point soon im very tempted to dive into this army. My main problem is outside of the couple of wiki pages im at a loss finding good content for this army. Specifically looking for, if any, colour plates/lore on different factions. When i play its normally Titanicus and have a home brew legio so kinda moving towards a home brew faction and just looking at colour plates for inspiration/lore helps the creative juices start moving. Anyway man enjoy the content and your video on the Kataphron has pushed me into a buyung mode! Cheers

Ambitious project. I'd like it better with less cloth but it's still a cool model. I'm going to use one of the KDM masks on a future conversion too. Great idea. A tip: Silicone-coated baking parchment as your working surface would save you a lot of hassle here. Less water, you can work shapes and tears in the GS out on an even surface and use it to transfer your work onto the miniature later.

My first kit bash was turning the orks from my second edition starter box into trophies and casualties for my dark angels. And a month later I was already putting a biker marine‘s legs and a converted torso of a tactical marine with a scratch built obsidian bladed power whip on a lizardmen raptor to create the general for my freshly invented DA successor legion. Ever since then kit bashing has been the most creatively fulfilling and only constant part of the hobby for me.

A bit rougher than my perfectionism would allow me, but the overall result is right up my alley. (Not that much darker) Mechanicum for the win! We’re not hereteks, we’re just misunderstood.

Great minis, if you want a chalange i recomend that you try making emperors children using the zorn pallete.

For next time, do yourself a favour and give your mini an all over coat of an undershade colour over your white prime/zenithal, leave it to stain that primer and then wipe it all away with a dry sponge like you might with streaking grime etc. Then you'll have a thin oily base that thicker paint will adhere to, then you can basically just wet blend on top. Remember thick paints sticks to thin, and vice versa. Edit: Also, check out the oilfather, James Wappel

Great video! I went a little crazy magnetizing mine, and I have swappable head, masks, shield, legs, and missile launcher face plates in addition to everything here. I don't recommend doing the head (hard to get it to fit right again without rubbing against the body), but swappable masks are awesome.

Great dudes you've done the Watch proud but that's not the chapter symbol for the Minotaurs. They have a completely different symbol. For anyone who doesn't know Deathwatch Vets are same size as the new MK3-MK6 stuff from Horus Heresy so they're not all that smaller than primaris. Said kit is amazing I can forgive the kit missing one or two options when it gives you Two stormshields, two heavy thunder hammers and a plethora of other gear. It's honestly crazy what u get in it.

Dont base them keep them black or find clear bases goes better with mats

Basing depends on where you want your dudes to fight... You taking it to the enemy? I'd go red/orange Martian dust or blue/purple swamp. You clearing a place out? I like ship decking or urban rubble.

Great guide for magnetising these! Saved me a lot of time working out how to do mine so thank you :) just one comment though, are you sure the magnet at 6:24 is a 2x2? I has to use a 1x1 because that part of the gun is so tiny - still worked perfectly though!
