People of the 21st century made their advancements on the backs of those who solved problems in previous centuries (coincedentally people who believed in Mohammad's prophethood had also ushered in an Islamic golden age of science, from the 8th to the 14th century, and they were smarter people than Dawkins). Dawkins seems to think that people of the 7th century (some of Mohammad's followers) didn't equally struggle with the idea/miracle/or vision that Muhammad had in other realms beyond the one we live in. This story actually makes a lot of sense. The admission office knew he would be very into astrophysics and the universe at large, so they asked one of the foremost scientists to write him a letter offering a tour of their university in order to get him to attend. It was basically a recruitment process for a student they could tell would graduate, and likely pursue a master's or doctorate at their university, and if they were lucky, become famous and bring star power to the alumni.
