The Legendary and Iconic Maui Jim Stingray Review!
Hello i order ny glasd and today i hahe recieved it , it has both blue and green light, my previous one has only green, i have reflect light on my glass it is showing two dots or reflection one is green one is blue what is meaning of this
@@sanatanihindu383 on each lens you have both color reflections? There are some blue light coatings that use a blue front mirror with a green backside anti reflective. (Retinal bliss DES from quantum in particular). They aren’t common but do exist.
Thank you for this! Time well spent! Can we send glasses to you for fine tuning to get that icky frost off?
@@499Briana absolutely, but that does require new prescription lenses to be made. Unfortunately the existing lenses can’t be revived, once the bevel is placed it’s pretty much game over.
?
Mine are acetate
So you don't adjust the bridge. That's where its slipping down my nose
Correct. The bridge has little to nothing to do with the issue.
You sure the gentle bend on one side isn’t because the glasses are a bit wider/narrower than your head? Not because your head isn’t symmetrical?
It’s a combination of lens shape/curve, frame size, and head size/shape. Regardless, Almost no one is perfectly symmetrical, those that are, are models. As for the size of the frame, I have that frame in 7 colors. Only the one has that arc. Functionally it could even be my adjustment was off at the back pushing in too much and has slowly created that arc. Lots of options to the cause, best just to get the adjustment and fit right rather than worry about why ;)
This is what I get for getting my glasses online one side fits perfectly. Either side is too tight.
useless video
@@flomast3r useless comment.

@@flomast3r instead of saying everyone’s time and being useless, let’s try this, what were you looking to understand, and how did this video not help you? Because I talked very specifically about how to find the right fit and ignoring the numbers that will lead you astray rapidly 🥂
@@ThatGlassesGuy03 Video title: "How To Find The Right Size Glasses", while content isn't serving that purpose.
Thank you for your rant, there is a lack of nuance while shopping for lenses online. I’m a middle aged far-sighted guy who wears safety glasses at work. I’ve tried prescription corrective lenses twice, conacts in my teens and again in my late 30’s….and I’m still resisting, This year I went back to my eye doctor twice and motivated changing my scrip from my dizzying prescription to a script for even mag in both eyes. Now, I’m enjoying readers which are 0.25 mag less than that scrip, and it’s working well. My safety readers (scrip) have some base curve polycarbonate lenses, and distortion is always there, I’m hoping to try some Trivex in the next pair, and now I understand why it matters to me as a far-sighted person who stares at 80-120’ tree tops for work. Five years ago I got some 1.67’s to minimize eyelash smudging and the distance vision was fuzzy. I’m hoping to try some digitally cut Trivex lenses soon. Will I be killing distance clarity by covering up Trivex with a transitions or medium gray tint coating? Is there any case where digitally cut lenses are not better? Maybe some geriatric style polarized solar shields are better than tints and transitions? Are base curve with +1.5 always going to generate eyelash smudging? Better to go flatter lenses with side shields?
You are making this way too complicated. FGS just say 'don't get a progressive lens that's too large vertically because ...'. Done.
@@warehousing2953 right… that’s why everyone gets it so wrong so often. But go on….
Finallllllllly, I got new glasses. I went 3 times to get adjusted and no matter what they still weren't sitting right. My eyes are very different and require a certain prescription, so one side being closer was causing nausea. I gave up going and stumbled upon this. HUGE life saver, I can literally feel my eyes adjusting correctly
Love it!! That’s what I’m here for!! 😎
Honestly brown feels like a fever.
Great video; Would like the boring video with more details on prism lenses.
Loose the loud music
Is there such a thing as adjustable lens that i can move to help with 24/7 double vision that can change during the day? If not how can i make it happen?
Got my first pair of glasses last week, your video saved my temples. Feels like a much better fit now already, thank you very much!
As it should be. You’re very welcome!!
I just got new glasses, the prescription didn't change much, but it feels just like when I went from 20 years only contacts to glasses. It's been less than a week but of course I got worried. I see everything crystal clear though....
Please tell me some options for +6.00 number i don't want look like bug please 🥲 i want simple glasses and small eyes are better than big eye
What a great video! Thank you! Quick question, for acetate frames do you need to head up the material or should you be able to give it that slight bend just as is? Thanks!!
Hello. What happens when the frames don't have hinges on the side? Thanks
Like the silhouette style? They still have adjustment points that function in a similar way :)
Thanks Man! really helpful
You’re welcome!!
Wow I’ve fixed my glasses thank you so much xx
Yay!! 🥂
You skipped the rose gold :( could you go a little more into it?
Are all these comments a joke? has no one ever thought about bending the arms before? hardly ground breaking advice here
@@joescho I think many don’t even realize glasses are designed to be adjusted and fitted TBH. The knowledge on this field from the general public is honestly shocking and lacking in many aspects. As an industry we’ve severely failed on educating the general public on how these things work…. The fact most don’t even realize the lenses are REPLACED in order for prescription lenses to go in is just mind bending.
You will find the pinned barrel hinges on vintage glasses survives better than most other designs. Less common today except on premium brands. I would trust the barrel hinges on the Ray Ban classic wayfarer over the new wayfarer.
Just bought it very hard plastic product eyeglasses they hurt the back of my ears and my nose. I have marks everywhere.
Like a boss ;-) Happy new year!
😆🥂 Happy Mew Year!! 😁
Thanks!
Excellent video! I adjusted mine just like you said and now they're perfect. Thank you so much for your expertise. ❤️❤️❤️
hey so i have a cord glasses, popped my lens back in but its so thick the cord wont go back on... can you help?
what the fuck is this and why do I love it so much
@@PR4DE hahah becuase it’s cool!!! This is how we cut the round lens blanks to the shape of frames in order to make custom or prescription lenses fit into eyewear frames!!
@@ThatGlassesGuy03 neat!
WOW! Love this trick. Not sure it is going to work on my loose hinge and/or screw yet, but willing to try. I have Oliver Peoples, The Ashton (Women's) and this is my back up pair! My absolute favorite pair, Alain Mikli, my new pup loved as a chew toy :( I just want to make it til February. I wish I could have you fit me in person! I love your attitude, knowledge and from my experience someone that loves what they do.
Got my first pair of glasses today after 24 years of not knowing I needed them. Of course I knew my vision wasn’t perfect but, I could see pretty clear with a bit of blur till I took my vision test for my learners permit and completely failed it. So now still I’m adjusting to the slightly warped vision. I’m Myopia and the sharpness when I have them on surprised me
Which color and mirror tinted you recommend for night driving( absorbing night glare)? Thanks
You're good at explaining. I think part of the problem is that I ordered a larger size frame so that (like your glasses) the center of the lens is not at eye level. Seems like when they made my lenses, they should have taken that into account. I bought some stick on silicone nose pads to raise the frames slightly and I can see so much better. BUT the top of the frames cover my eyebrows which is not how these glasses are supposed to fit. Does that make sense? I also have a neck ache from bending my neck back to see my computer well.
Man, stop yapping and get to the point smh
“It’s fine”. 🥂 If they’re the right size. If you don’t have a ton of plus. Etc etc etc. but you don’t care about any of that ;)
I mean why not
@@The_Second_greatest_ever has to be done once in awhile 😂
Sounds right but a bad idea for driving. Look at how the steering wheel looks like now. Much too close, distorted and tilted up at the bottom. Not good and then there are the frames that get in the way of peripheral vision so important for driving.
There are progressive lenses designed specifically for driving that reduce these issues dramatically :)
Ok will ask but they knew my first were specifically for driving only.
@@gbass7328 if you’re wearing any of the big name lenses except for Zeiss, it’s not designed for driving. The Zeiss Drivesafe utilizes appropriate features for driving specific multifcoals. And it is the ONLY big branded lens that does so.
I purchased a pair at full retail cuz I just had ta have ‘em right now.. then ordered a second pair for 199+tax online @ Jomashop. In a different configuration. I think maybe that was the “Holliday” price for the Christmas season &might be closer to 240$ until they run their “spring” sale . But they’re legit and highly recommended if ya like saving some $
I personally think the sliding sleeve thing is by design to accommodate further distance to the ears for folks that might need a longer whatchamacallit arm sleeve thinga Ma doohicky Ma bobber
😅 the things people think are features that are design failures never ceases to amaze me… it won’t “stay” at either position for holding power. There is no detent to keep it in place. Just loose and cheap production/QC🫣
I’ve gone most of my life not using glasses and have astigmatism and also far sighted in right eye and near sighted in left , wearing these new glasses and everything is sooooo blurry!!!!!! Sad that I’ll never be able to see clearly and not sure if I’ve ever had. This astigmatism makes me think I have dyslexia words always looks so weird !!!!! 😖
That much “oddness” and difference between the two eyes is never easy. It takes careful consideration of each and both lenses to create a comfortable pair with proper binocularity… and then it takes time to adapt to how your brain has been and is now seeing the world too. Patience grasshopper.
I have astigmatism and far sighted in my right eye and near sighted in my left I don’t think I’ve ever been able to see anything clearly in my whole life
On the path now though! Hopefully.
This guy is the worst can’t believe so many likes
✌🏻 yet you found the need to comment. How’s that salt taste?
@ you tell me it’s clearly in your mouth👍
Now they’re broken
Ouch! Unfortunately, some frames just can’t handle it and/or get mishandled.
I've always had trouble with any sort of pressure from glasses. Usually more on one side. It could have something to do with my sinuses and also I usually end up with frames that are too small because its all they carry. I can only tolerate just enough pressure to keep them up on my face and sometimes they slide down as a trade off. I found it much easier to make my old 145mm frames comfortable vs my new 142. thanks so much for your videos
Been using rubbing alcohol & water mix for eyeglass lenses for over 30 yrs with no issues
If you dilute it enough anything is safe and even just water will mostly clean lenses :)
My readers get smudged from my eyelashes touching the lenses. Find rubbing alcohol preferably 99% mixed with some water in a lens cleaner spray bottle works great.
Little less than ideal for the longer term but definitely will remove smudges!! (Very hard on the frames and lens coatings used regularly)
@@ThatGlassesGuy03 $5 readers from Walmart. Doesn't matter.
Fair enough. But others need to know that info before trying that ;)
@@ThatGlassesGuy03I've had the same readers for 6 years and they're fine
I can't figure it out still ❓❔⁉️
@@Lavintis-x9i then go to a professional and let them take care of it! This is as simple as it gets. 🥂
I have a prescription of -20. which one should I go for? 😢
Whatever fits best!! Have to keep in mind your face l, size, and eye position. I have a -15 client that I’ve only ever fit remotely and he wears a wider square because it is what fits his face. Nothing but praise for how his glasses look and how he sees :)
