Reload was sucha botch job. The entire soul of 3 was removed and we were given a sanitized version of the game. It's awful to see because P3 original was so good. Persona gets less and less dark as time goes on, real shame.

Reload makes it more sad. However they lose out because they don't show what the Mc looked like before either way feel awful for Aigis and co.

Portable diegetically transitioning the awakening into the battle is cool as hell mgl

I like the reload version better, less edgy and memorable, but fits the scene way more.

Man they could atleast show the letters flying around him and when he started peel out, close his eyes, show S.E.E.S reactions, cut to Aigis face and directly show the blue butterflies, the Reload scene just feels like...lemonade without lemons...

I actually like Both. The beautiful, serene notes of the reload version show his death as more beautiful than tragic, the light blue light gives it a more simple approach. And I think Aigis reaching out and gasping for him one last time is a nice touch. But of course, the edginess and realness of showing the harsh reality of his death is really neat too, it shows how ever part of him, skin, bone, and blood is gone now. There is no coming back. It’s more of a tragic last memory of him. Both are really cool IMO

How tf does a cutscene from a decade and half ago look cooler and smoother. The original was so creative and fun. The new one just seemed bland, like I was watching an anime and not a cutscene

I just beat the dlc and the menu is perfect, what an amazing game...

Both are good in their own way, FES using glimpses of his true self to making it more meaningful while Reload simply shows his closing his eyes & Aigis reaching her hand out. But the two, whether if it's intended or not, have extreme differences in tone. FES looks like there's really exist his true self within, that he's using the battle as some kind of mentoring. While in Reload he's more of a mindless shell throughout till the end, and Aigis just projecting him to have some of his soul in it

0:10 I was really hoping this part would be in Reload; it’s like Makoto was actually the Shadow in some way, and defeating him briefly brought him back to his senses before evaporating. He seems almost shocked too, like “how am I here?” It’s also nice to imagine that he finally catches a glimpse of his friends when he didn’t get a chance to do so on the rooftop. (even though that’s definitely not what’s happening here)

Look the edginess was cool in the original but I loved what the remake did. His death wasn’t gorey, it wasn’t scary. He did it for them. And then he was gone. He wasn’t scared he wasn’t a bloody pulp He faced death with a smile because he understood his friends would be ok
