So she is not allowed in any home or business after this interview?
It will stop if the local bar/bartender who is ID-ing them stops accepting the picture ID! They’re either too young to know better or have been lead to believe that just a picture can fly at ~some~ places by example or experience.
i use a picture of my id all the time had my wallet stolen or lost it whilst drinking too many times and getting new id is a fucking pain
Exactly, lack of responsibility and self-accountability.
lack of responsibility
these are the same ppl thatll be pissed if you quite without notice
learn to read

This is the best podcast around honestly I'm 10 years behind the bar and everything is so relatable it's so entertaining when you can relate to their stories
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Cmon bro
We are trying to be better
Id reccomend doing multiple takes and picking the one that goes smooth. Its very annoying to listen to someone stumble on a sentance i can read at the same time
We are working harder to get the stories out better. Retakes are a great idea.
Why does he look like a 50 year old woman
Because that is who he is.
I wouldn’t tip either of those people
That's a very smart move
Thats too much

because classy addicts use them to store gear
This is exactly the kind of thing that would happen at the last restaurant I worked at. It was a wonderful thing.
Nice
Terrific video you two!
Thanks Christine
@@doyouwanttostartatab YW!!
I was gonna lose it if no one identified the plot of Cocktail, love that movie. ;P Also I know the person Carl is talking about, love waiting on him, total sweetheart.
HAHAHAHA 😜. He is excellent.
Ohhh I dislike the term "Karen." Not nice. It puts down women overall to be honest and isn't nice for women named Karen. Seriously. Women get so crucified for things men get away with every day. What's the equivalent for a Karen for a guy? It's such an irritating term and not great to do IMO. Take care. Just say an annoying woman. OKAY my bad - it's the person who sent in the comment to sub Reddit who referred to a Karen. Sorry guys!! It's a rough time and thinking is a bit impaired from fatigue and worry. My bad. Love your channel!! I own it when I make a mistake. Always.
We are hear to listen to everyone and their thoughts. 😊

My brother in christ, this is not a good camera angle for you, you don't have a chin, try angle from more front on
Are you are so right. How did I not ever think of that. 🤦
I don't get it.?.?
86 is a term that means an item is no longer available. The new server had no idea.
@@doyouwanttostartatab thank you so much for clearing it up.... yes, I have heard that phrase before, but now it makes SO MUCH MORE sense. 👍
Tough industry to be in for relationships. Alcoholism and substances are huge.
It can be a tough world.
Totally relate to the blah blah blah part 😂 of dating in the pool- also Springrolls be callin… cute stories
Its hard out there for a bartender.
This was great insight on the service industry! Really engaging story telling as well. Keep up the content :D
Glad you enjoyed it!
Comparing bartending to ER is wild. Bunch of sooks
I was going to say healthcare too!!
Nice!
Servers and wait staff are NOT entitled to tips.
You are correct, no one is entitled BUT in the US there a social contract that if great service was provided then tips are expected for that service.
It makes sense in Iowa
Makes sense in Iowa and a lot of other areas in the US. I had a friend come back from Estes Park, CO and didn't pay more then $17 for a Knob Creek OF
Mans is drunk 24/7
Hi I heard you are from eastern iowa, I’m in Bettendorf/Davenport, where do you guys work?
We live in Dubuque
That’s not Jeff Ross?
Maybe..........
A bottle of spirit should pay for itself after 2 drinks. That's how bars make money.
Where?
Not when you can make 10-15 drinks with the ine bottle
Not in Iowa.
@@doyouwanttostartatab I guess not at whatever dive bar you work at 🤷🏼♂️.
Take a shot everytime Carl says fuck in this podcast lol GOOD RANT
DAMNIT. I'm drunk.
There is in no way anyone should be paying THAT much for such an affordable whiskey, ango and simple syrup and a twist. A bottle of knob creek is less than $40 dollars retail most places. As an industry worker, there’s no reason to charge for half a bottle for a tiny fraction of that bottle ESPECIALLY at the prices restaurants and bars get. Even with labor and overhead included that’s INSANE
100000000%
Maybe you should be asking yourself if getting ripped off to destroy your liver is a bad idea to start with.
Getting ripped off is a bad idea in any case, yeah.
We all destroy our bodies differently everyday. Being tipped off while doing it SUCKS.
Tipping in the US is the server's wage. IT IS THE WAGE. If you don't like it don't participate. As in don't dine out at restaurants because it's part of the deal. If you can't afford to tip then you can't afford to dine out.
Lie
Nah@@Wildman-zh8lg
It’s that the servers aren’t paid. And if I am now expected…have to tip 20, 25,30% because that is what the servers want… darn straight I’m not eating out! Affording a $50 meal is a lot different than $60, 65.
I agree totally. The system in the US allows for server wage to be well below other worker minimum wage. Some servers will get less than $3 per hour for their wage will get eaten up by the taxes they are required to pay based on their sales. So quite literally all that's left are the tips they've earned. So if you stiff a server that server still has to pay tax on the sale They get the privilege of paying to serve the guest. Its a sham. g@@dc9926
As long as the experience was quality.
Lease, lights, water, labor, liquor license, city taxes, business license, state SUT filings, federal & state withholding, accountant, food, liquor, furniture. Perhaps a salary for the proprietor and liability insurance, etc ... etc ... these two individuals might be nice people but I certainly don't want them running a business I'm investing in.
Thank you for your comment. I 100% understand how all of that works. I have been a bar manager for many years and run a highly profitable and successful bar program. I am also about to open my spot and will not charge a 1000% drink markup. 500% is the standard where I live in Iowa. There are many bars and restaurants in Dubuque that I know the owners of, and no one expects this one place. Maybe where you live, you need a 1000% markup. 🤷 Do appreciate your feedback, where is your bar or restaurant located? Always want to gain more knowledge about other places and their costs.
You obviously never had or ran a bar before to know the expenses and taxes you have to support in order to even be in a position to serve alcohol
Luckily you are incorrect. I have been a bar manager for many years and understand how to price cocktails and drinks correctly to have a very successful program. I live in Iowa expenses are a lot less than other places so a markup of 500% is where we have drinks priced at.
Sad thing is… _he’s not even kidding_ *971%* 😭
So so so sad.
My worst day sober is better than my best day loaded
That's awesome!
Tipping is not required. It is supposed to be acknowledgement of good service. You want your servers to be paid more… pay them more!
I agree. What struggles do see in the US if all restaurants and bars switched to non tipping? The impact of those places and how it could effect the guests.
I would provide better service in the dental office if I was tipped
You would probably not have a very good experience at my bar.
@@toddj9548 LOL
Which makes me every fuggin day ask why do people go to the bar only to get ripped off and told when to stop drinking sounds great. Lol sounds like the biggest gathering of gullabull dipshits I've ever heard of
How tf do these people expect to make a profit without a markup?
Most people want everything for free now days. I think if he had a high turn around then would need to lower the price but smaller establishments with a lower turn around are justified.
You can make a profit without marking it up 1000% lol
@@wo1fythedev Not when labour costs, rent, utilities, general maintenance, licencing costs and taxes come into the mix. Those all eat into revenue beyond the simple "bottle costs 25, sold for 250"
@@MeBackHurts. This seems backward to me. High turnaround (i.e. high demand) is created by lowering the price, and vice versa.

Wisconsin style isn’t with whiskey 😂
Was gonna say, pretty sure the only thing that makes it “Wisconsin style” is replacing whiskey with brandy. No idea where they’re pulling this sprite info from
Wisconsin style Muddle Orange and Cherries Bitters Brandy Top with soda or spirit. I forgot to mention the muddle parts and where we live in Iowa it is common this way made with whiskey.
I forgot to mention that he wanted to muddle oranges and cherries. Around where I live it is common to use whiskey instead of brandy.
