Not a reliable geezer..... About the reports of bullying, harassing in your branches, what can you say?
Can you remove tensioner bolt and just re install after checking if belt or chain? Just tighten back up?
Hi. This video is very helpful. Thanks for uploading it. My question is that on my car the cam shaft snaped which has bent the valve luckily it didn't damaged the pistons. So I have bought the new head with complete valves, Hydraulic lifters and camshaft. So the timing is all out at the moment. I have bought the complete timing tool kit. I have used the timing bar to lock the camshaft from the right hand side. How do I lock the the fuel pump pulley and how do I use the locking pin to lock the crank pulley. In this video the belt is being changed in a normal circumstances n mine is completely different case. Please someone help. Thanks.

How to fix foaming in power reservoir dd15
Best diesel engine ever!
Best video ever!!!
Who every said let's put a belt in oil.whats f##%#
Excellent video
Hola buen video donde podría comprar ese extractor
Why do you loosen the camshaft bolt? If the engine is properly timed before the procedure and the new belt is identical to the old one then the position of the camshaft sprocket should be the same when fitting the new belt.
It should but there can always be slight tension differences and the you struggle to loose the slack then , so a floating pulley makes it easier and accurate 11:01
Thank you
This happened to my car. Bsy engine code. Old stud came loose after 400kms after belt change. Timing slipped. Cracked rockers only thankfully 🙏
If you don't want to bother buying locking tools you can just replace timing belt doing the marks. No need to removing top pulley. Locking devices are useful if for some reasons you lost the corresponding positions of pulleys
Thank you
Nice clear concise educational video. I am not a mechanic but do enjoy learning and appreciate the workings of a vehicle i use. Great work and not easy to do videos. Total respect to all people who do this and share their knowledge freely and unselfishly you are very nice people.
can u imagine some1 teaching u how to install a timing belt this is crazy
what if stud is too deep in the head?
Can you look into creating a video for MG / Rover / Freelander KV6 belt change?
Fake video of engine with original installation
Quite right! Today I replaced a working INA freewheel with a larger diameter solid-machined pulley, which turned out to be even lighter than this clutch! The engine works in the same way - there are no extraneous vibrations of the tensioning mechanism! At idle, fuel consumption decreased by 0.1 liters per hour - it was 0.7 liters per hour, and it became 0.6 liters per hour! The battery charging voltage did not decrease while the engine started to rev significantly faster than with freewheel as the engine was spinning a larger pulley than the freewheel based pulley shown in this fake video! After installing a solid pulley, the car began to accelerate much faster, the manual transmission gears turn on better, since the engine speed does not drop as quickly as in the case with an overrunning clutch installed, and the generator in this case works as a kinetic energy accumulator that maintains high engine speeds even after closing the throttle. The twitching engine video shown on the left side of the video is completely fake! This is how the VAG engine behaves, in which one or two ignition coils are faulty, or specially disabled! A serviceable engine behaves differently and shows no signs of additional vibration even when a solid pulley is installed on the alternator shaft, and not an INA freewheel! Average fuel consumption also went down as soon as I installed a larger one-piece pulley and longer belt on the alternator to replace the old INA freewheel!
Complicated for no reason. By that I mean two belts.....
Could I drill out the tensioner pulley to take an M10 straight through. And use an M10 to M10 stud. Instead of the silly M8 to M10 stepped bolt that is prone to snap at yield if over tightening the nut? (The correct torque amount 23nm for the nut puts it right in this area) ... To an engineer even just the weight of that tensioner on the M8 is a daft idea. If you hit a particularly large pot hole I can see this going ping and the M8 to M10 step
Literally you just described what happened to me…. It broke exactly where the m10 threads start at the hole… I am so lost right now it’s ridiculous…. This is the only car I have…
@@Noneoftheabuv Sorry to hear that. I did do the mod, i put a straight 75mm m10 threaded stud in and drilled the hole in the tensioner out to 10mm. I didnt like the way its was originally designed with the m8 to m10. It wasn't easy to drill the tensioner out as it was quite thick and took sometime to do on my drill press. The cap/ plate on the end of the tensioner was hardened steel too so i had to use a carbide tipped deburr in a die grinder to make that hole bigger. I've done about 10,000 miles since so seems to have worked out.
@@agentcarbunkle man that’s great…. I imagine it wasn’t easy….. I’ve drilled the hole open and I’m going to press the broken end in the hole and JB weld it. I don’t think it’ll work but I have to do something.
He didnt show flywheel locking tool
3:22 This is the tool, but he didn't shot it being fitted.
Google will helps you
hi what damage are you looking at if the belt snaps
Engine rebuild then. Valves will bent against pistons
It would be nice to see how about the lower timing belt/chain is changed. That is too often missed and missing it on repairs will cause engine failure... Could you do another video of covering that lower timing too?
Ford changing the lower heavy duty chain to a wet belt has to go down as 1 of the most stupid engineering designs ever!
Thanks a lot, this is what i want to now for a long time. From Germany i which you all the best.
WHERE IS THE ADJUSTING SCREW AT?
