My channel has varying content, much of it related to Motorcycles/Automobiles. However it is also meant to be autobiographical of my life now as a retired person living with family, friends, and hobbies in San Diego, California. It is a personal journal to be true, but I hope that there is some parts that will related to the human experience of a senior citizen here in the earlier stages of the 21st century. Please enjoy these and know that I enjoy making them!
Mujo my "go-to" for muscle ache 4K
I am rather excited about this video as it gives me the opportunity to share something GREAT with my viewers.
As a senior who does like to exercise I do experience some muscle pain from time to time. A company called "Mujo" approached me to try some of their relief cream and roll-on. I did try these and was pleased by my experience with them.
Mujo have since come back to me with a great offer;
1. The first five people who respond to this will receive at NO COST a sample kit of their cream/roll-on combination! To try to win this perk send me your address to my email.....unfortunately we can only do this in the continental USA.
2. The people who use the discount code; GLCSD can get 20% the already reasonable retail price of this kit. To get this perk go here; 8cbd92.myshopify.com/?ref=NTKEIOSLAR.
Okay, I'm going to do a longer version of this VLOG next week but let's GET THE BALL ROLLING HERE!

Hello all! In this VLOG we unbox the Insta360 Motorcycle Mount Kit and first time test it! Wow, what fun.... Anyway we test it on the eMTB, because I want to try this before I try it on the Motorcycle! Enjoy the non-stop action here.....(maybe an exaggeration...?)

Hello viewers! In this VLOG we do an unboxing of the "PellKing" motorcycle mounting kit. Recently you've seen how I've struggled to keep the Insta360X4 in place while the invisible selfie stick is extended. This is supposed to help....we shall see! But, in this VLOG we see what's included when you buy the kit for $49.99USD from Amazon.
First eMTB ride using the Invisible Selfie Stick 4K

We have a beautiful and crisp California Winter Day in January to trial the "invisible" selfie stick by Insta360. In this ride we test out the stick for the first time on the eMTB. The result is that it works, and yet it doesn't quite work....by that I mean I still have issues with the extended stick staying in place on the bicycle handle bars. I would very much like to blog on the motorcycle w...
Tech Air 5 Update, sizing jacket correctly! 4K

In this VLOG we catch up on the implementation of my new Alpinestars TechAir 5. I reconsidered the fit I needed with the T-GP "TechAir Ready" jacket that I had purchased to use with the TechAir 5 and returned to the Cycle Gear store for a proper fitting. They were very helpful. At the end I went one size up from my normal and selected a size XL. This gives me more freedom of movement and will s...
First Ride on the eMTB with Insta360 X4 4K

Having recently purchased the Insta360 X4 I have been wanting to test it outside in "real world" conditions. We've now done that, we ride back and forth to the gym on the eMTB with the X4, on the way just using the internal mic on the X4 and on the way back using the external mic adapter and a Sony livelier mic with foam "dead cats." I must say I am quite impressed with the sound system and rec...

But this is entire "ecosystem" designed to work together by Alpinestars. Now, what you do with the TechAir when first receiv...

With some really good deals floating around on "Black Friday" Thanksgiving sales the opportunity to upgrade my safety gear was too good to miss with these two items from Alpinestars. But, with the advance of the technology and the ability to have a safety airbag jacket along with an outer jacket specifically designed f...

Relax and join me.
Visiting Andrew Jackson at his home The Hermitage 4K

A little off the usual for me, but I am a huge history buff and I had the opportunity to visit Andrew Jackson's home "The Hermitage." Our 7th President was controversial, tough, and a force to be reckoned with in his time. He was a "populist" President and the first one not to come from the Eastern elites that had supplied all previous USA Presidents. Now the mansion is very interesting, but on...

I’ve been researching this sizing question online and didn’t find much useful until you posted this recently. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the comment! It makes me feel very good to think that I have helped others in this complex and expensive decision. Best wishes!
Hope you’re keeping well and safe Geary ❤
Hi Ashley, we're okay down here in San Diego....LA/Pacific Palisades is quite a bit north of us. Prairie fires are a fact of life in SoCal, and have been since before anybody lived here. The pattern is this; #1, a heavy rain season...we've had two years in a row of extraordinary rain. #2, a nice summer with a great weed/plant growth because of the rain....#3, then in the autumn/winter we get drying "Santana" winds....these turn all of those weeds into ready to ignite kindling.....then, either a stupid human being, or nature; starts a fire in the winds and KABOOM, you got an out of control fire......what strikes me is that this combination was WELL KNOWN this year and still we were surprised? Our government has let us down....there's more I could share here! Take care and thanks for asking dude!
Imagine Tuono service expenses times one hundred.😂 Absolutely beautiful car though. And, your son seems like a happy man who life is treating well!
Yeah, I couldn't afford to pay for the insurance on this beast! But, all respect to Brandon, he's worked hard to get where he is....and I am one proud papa......thanks for the comment.
What a nice car. You are a lucky father, this car is an orchestra on 4 wheels 👍👍
So true Thomas, I am very proud of Brandon...and he is a great custodian of this automotive masterpiece!
Stupid video. No help at all.
The sizing on some of these jackets are wildly varying and off. I'm typically a us Size XL but for example in a Belstaff I had to go to a 2XL, Merlin 3XL and Alpinestars I'd assume I'd be a 4xl.
Yeah, it seems the US sizes are typically more generous and other areas of the world not so. I'd say sizing from Asia is typically smallest of all, followed by Europe, and then the good ol USA. But even here sizes can be just different enough between brands to cause troubles...particularly for important and/or expensive gear. Thanks for weighing in on the subject sir.
I got the exact jacket, had to go to a 4xl,every other jacket I have is a2xl, Alpinestars sizing is way off.definitely try on in store before buying even if ordering online, but it is my most comfortable setup other then the Velcro sleeve ends it’s perfect
My own fault, it's so handy to order online...but the more important or expensive the gear; the more worth it is to give it a personal try-on my humble opinion. And (agin my humble opinion) sizes are all over for different gear. European and American can be quite different fitting even is labeled with the same size!
thanks for info, I am also thinking on sizing up, as I feel constraint in L size when tech-air 5 is in.
You should! As long as you have the compatible jacket it will probably better to size up.
LOL!!!! Stalling at a red light has happened to us all. Quick question, how is the maintenance and reliability on your Tuono? After owning several Japanese performance motorcycles, and only 1 European motorcycle (Ducati) which had serious stalling issues, after which I swore off all European motorcycles, The Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory and RR have both caught my eye. Would just like some real world and honest information from a current owner that has some good history with the motorcycle before I actually pull the trigger. Thank you in advance!
Okay, I must first say that I am perhaps not your "typical" Tuono owner. I don't do a lot of miles and given some health issues in the last couple of years my milage has been limited. Having said that, this is the 2nd Tuono I've owned. The previous one was a 2017, also a "Factory." And, I am sure being of my vintage I don't really press them all that much. Beginning with the fact I've never had a really severe issue with either iteration. The '21 has pretty much been a peach, I have that pesky fuel level issue going on which I will have the local dealer sort soon after the turn of the year. But, the bike itself and the motor have been reliable. Note that these machines run hot, and being in traffic on a hot San Diego day can be stressful and bake the rider! The '17 did on occasion stall on me......as I was running up to a stop light in traffic at temperatures in the high 80's it just stopped running and the motor wouldn't start while coasting or stopped. I pushed it over to the side, gave it a few moments and it started right up again. After this on the way home that day I was careful to keep some airflow going. I later found out that there was a software issued "stop" to the motor when measured temps went too high. There was a software update for this, after which I didn't have the problem again. Taking out the flapper valve, changing the exhaust, and using the different engine mapping seemed (seems) to make the motor run that little bit cooler. So, in my case no major issues..... I'd ask how far away your nearest Aprilia dealer is? And advise if you buy a used one from a private party that you get the service history and perhaps ask the seller if he'd pay for a pre-purchase inspection...... Good luck!
@@GareyCooperdude Thank you for your input! Still on the fence.
Did you show raw footage or did you correct in post? I was just wondering how hard to correct things in post with the footage... Have a great Christmas and New Years too!
Yes I did correct in "post." One of the downsides of the 360 I do believe is that one must first correct/edit in post before posting up a video. You have great choices of course with the 360 view and resolution....but, without some post editing.....you got some strange views. And, it takes a bit of time and memory capacity to edit the big files. I use the desktop "Insta360 Studio", AND then port over to "Final Cut Pro" for the final version of the video I will use. There is a mobile phone version editor but I have no experience with it. The claim is that the mobile editor can do much of the editing for you....but as I say no experience with it for me yet. And lastly to you; Merry Christmas and a healthful and happy New Year as well!
The camera, mics, and everything worked great.
Hey thanks Tom! I am impressed with the tech here......got to get it out on the Aprilia and hope to do so soon sir. Have a Merry Christmas!
There were such issues when it was first released. I think it’s fairly solid now.
I almost bought the same Techair 5 , same black Friday, , but ended up with the Helite tethered one, reading reviews of Alpinestars TechAir 5, I just saw too many ( for me at least) reviews that had false deployment while riding , or someone tapping the rider on the shoulder causing deployment, r hitting a bump that bucked the rider,, or pothole, and if it happened to me, not sure the deployment will not cause accident by itself, and I believe if my memory serve me, one none deployment review, but need to double check that, just feel like the testing was really done for moto GP, and not enough data yet for the streets, not enough people own it to have perfect algorithm, the Helite on the other hand, is over is a decade long plus proven in many accidents, easier to maintain, the tethered should always work, although some scenarios you might touch the ground first, depend how tight you have it on, but for sure, Helite not as good as the Techair 5, in terms of looks, comfort etc.. Might be totally wrong on that, actually both were not far in terms of price, basically almost the same... just did not want to buy something that might deploy if I hit a bump, or stand on the bike to brace a bump...
That's interesting because I ended up with the TechAir for the same reason you went Helite....potential false deployment. But, one advantage of Helite (as I understand it anyway) the user can recharge the system with a new gas cylinder....that did give me some pause to consider it. Well, hopefully neither of us will crash and we'll both be happy!
@@GareyCooperdude Yes, the Helite you can self replace the canister, very easy, and it is selling for around $30. The tether takes 60 lb of force to deploy, so when you get off the bike, it kind of gives you a nudge, reminds you if you will to disconnect. But, yes hope for safe riding and to never use it, Happy new Year !
Thank you Garey!
Good video Garey. Very interesting.
Walk that course often, yes always remember those who came before us. Just a FYI that is the Burgess cemetery
@@McG24Projects thanks, for the info!
Beautiful day in San Diego Garey... Enjoyed the video, probably a fuel sensor. best wishes !
My screen just doesn't come off so I looked if there's a video about it but no one really shows how to remove it. Is there a trick or is it supposed to slide out very easy? 🥲
It’s been a while since we did this….but I don’t remember any special tricks to it……maybe look to see if there is a direction to slide it so tabs slip out and off? Also, I’ve seen people use some double sided tape so check for any adhesive holding it down.
@@GareyCooperdude thanks for your answer, i just got it out! The little rubber things that you screw into were kinda gummed to the oem screen so i had to warm everything up a bit and push the windscreen against the fairing first to get it loose. now it slides right in and out!

All I am going to say is that if you met my wife, you would not want earplugs ...and the faster the damage the better :):) In all seriousness, wear your ear plugs riders...you don't want ringing ears in the middle of the night, it is torture...
@@guzziman 😁😅that there’s funny!
Hey Garey include links to these ear plugs so we can research them. thanks
@@tomg4592 thanks, good comment when I get back (visiting family in Tennessee) I will add links…
Good job Garey. I need to settle on a good pair of plugs.
Beware these after market gas caps can allow rain to enter the gas tank and if not correctly installed can cause the tank to implode - only recommend installing on a track bike
Not had an issue myself with either of those two concerns. However I am in San Diego, California where rain is not a common enough thing really. And, I think it is really important to make sure the vent line is not obstructed when you install these things....I may not have emphasized this enough...but good points!
Hey Geary ❤ it’s great to see your back on Tony thunder ! It Would be great to ride with you on them canyons ! Starting to get bored riding in the middle of nowhere 😂
If'n your travels ever carry you stateside, y'all come and say "howdy."
@ for sure geary I would love to meet up with you
It is too bad more older cage drivers don't consider others safety when their skills diminish.
Too true! I have just as much to fear from senior drivers with no sense as younger ones with no sense!
I was wondering Garey, and I guess everyone else reading this, 2 years of ownership in and I still feel uncomfortable adjusting the chain. The 20mm play on the top run just makes the whole chain seem so tight. I know the tension is correct because anything looser and the quick shifter misbehaves. I also found the chain needed a lot of regular adjustment in the first 1000 miles or so. I tried to find UA-cam clips of people with the same bike adjusting their chain. I found a couple and the comments section was full, "your chain is too tight" comments. Do you have any problems with the chain tension?
I do not.....but you've given me an idea for a possible VLOG. However I am far from a heavy user......but have you tried using one of the adjustment/alignment tools to help? They make it easier to see you've done it right hopefully.
@ Hi Garey, I did watch your chain adjuster install video from 2017 and was considering going down the same path. However it is not so much making the adjustment itself, it is the fact that when you tighten it to factory spec, the chain feels tighter than an over tuned guitar string. It just feels wrong. I’ve never had a bike before that’s required such a low amount of free play. Anyway, thanks for the reply and thanks for all the videos!
The fuel sender is sourced from the same place Ducati get theirs from………
Has to be, right?
Hi Garey, its common problem with the fuel indicator. Unfortunatelly there must be replaced some part in the fuel tank to get this thing to operate normally again.😒
Thanks for the detailed information Garey, learned a few things from it and enjoyed to see you back on the Tuono.... Glad this staff is behind you. best wishes.
Appreciate the support, it’s been a long road!
Delighted to see and hear you are back on that super bike Garey. And I’m listening carefully to the story of your treatment. We have anticyclonic gloom here in the UK at the minute which means days of overcast, grey skies, mist and cold mornings and max temps of 12-15 degrees C. The roads are greasy and muddy so hoping for a break to colder, drier conditions.
Oh man sorry to hear! But that's one of the benefits of San Diego living...and that's why we pay the taxes we do!
Right weather to ride the Tuono Garey 👍
Isn't that so?! We've been really blessed these last couple of weeks in San Diego....clear and bright cool days. Lucky to be around and riding! Thanks Thomas!
Garey, very glad to hear the optimism and the good spirits, hope for 100% recovery soon.
Thanks so much! I can live like this, I'd just like to be greedy and get that last little bit back....
