Dream Car Photoshoot in Yosemite National Park
Shooting an RWB in Yosemite National Park was a dream come true. Being able to combine both of my passions of car photography and landscape photography into one single photoshoot was awesome and I can't wait to shoot more stuff like this again in the future.

Mamiya RB67 First Impressions (4 months)
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Місяць тому
I love shooting with my Mamiya RB67 so much but there are some downsides of shooting with it. I do encourage everyone that's trying to get into shooting 120 film to buy one for yourself because it is a great for the price. The Pentax 67 is nice but a main reason why I didn't buy one is mainly because you need to bring extra batteries every time you need to shoot with it. Socials: @jordanhexem

I recently took a trip out to Yosemite National Park to shoot landscape photos on film for the first time. I ended up getting some really good shots and I ended up having a super great time to finally take another trip up there again. I plan on doing way more road trips this year so I can't wait for my next one! Socials: @jordanhexem

    Jealous man! I just had to say no to a glacier nat park trip. That first wide angle waterfall shot slaps my man, but then those ones at 11:15 with the trees framing the falls! Would love to see those blown up on a wall. BTW, please don't call the cops about that joint in my new film photo video, I promise it was all special effects. Subbed! See you on the scroll reel dawgie!

    Just a question: why f/8-f/10? Have you experimented with other aperture settings? This lens - according to the data I’ve found - is sharpest at about f/4 - wouldn’t it be a better setting for scanning?

    • @reeve7929
      @reeve7929 Місяць тому

      It has all to do with depth of field. You don't want to have any part of the film plane out of focus so shooting at a higher f-stop like 8-11 is ideal. Every lens is different tho

    RB67 Pros 1. Medium format images are so much better than 35mm images. 2. Camera and lenses are less expensive than Hasselblad. 3. Camera is smaller and lighter than my 4x5 inch camera. RB67 Cons 1. Medium format images are not as good as 4x5 inch large format images. 2. No tilt/swing features. Must use my perspective control lens for my 35mm SLR or use my 4x5 inch view camera. 3. Camera is larger and heavier than my 35mm SLR.

  • @anta40
    @anta40 Місяць тому

    Any SLR bigger than 6x6 is a tricky issue, depending on your photography style. Mamiya RB was my 1st MF SLR camera. At that time, I shoot primarily street and realized RB wasn't fit my style. Unless you add the prism and grip, so it felt like a bigger 35mm SLR, but much bulkier. On tripod? No issue. What I wanted was something similar to Nikon F2, which led me to Pentax 67. It definitely felt nicer for handheld shooting. Being battery-dependent is a compromise I accept. Another alternatives are... perhaps the lighter Fuji GM670 or Mamiya 6/7. Of course, rangefinders isn't the appropriate tool for certain things like macro or tele landscaping.

  • @tim_meyer
    @tim_meyer Місяць тому

    Wow Jordan, I feel so much! Simply a love-hate relationship with medium format: the cameras are usually always ultra heavy and cumbersome but the results are so convincing! I “only” have a Mamiya 645, but it’s too cumbersome for me to lug around to meetings 😂

  • @MitchLally
    @MitchLally Місяць тому
