Use a controller, pref a PS4 controller and a mouse, you can move and shift your camera with the controller and target, click skills, and shift the camera with a mouse when you have to move. Also you can use the d-pad to target pt member hitting up and down or left and right for enemies.

Frontlines is so fun. XD

Thanks for this, although the video has some outdated bits at this point I've learned a lot of stuff just through playing but the actual strategy (where to look for pinches etc) is super helpful as more intermediate knowledge.

I have to admit I really hate Frontlines. Crystalline Conflict eventually became fun, Frontlines never stopped feeling like an eternal fustercluck where your personal contributions barely matter at all. And I will readily admit to just giving up when my team is in third place and trailing by several hundred points. It’s technically possible to come back from that, but so unlikely that…. Why bother?

Words cannot describe how much I hate Crystal Conflict. It has stupid rules and it's very unbalanced.

but mouse over macro does not get into server side skill-queue ...Isn't this the deciding factor not to use it in pvp?

God, I hope this helps. It's so frustrating trying to use certain skills during scrambles. if I try to break targetting and just let the auto-target find someone close, more often than not a summoner all the way in narnia clips me with an aoe and now i'm left wondering why my attack isn't - oh, I'm dead.

If I click to target an ally with an ability, and then move my cursor onto another ally, which will the macro prioritize? Sorry if that doesn't make much sense.

Thank you for this! I just got into PvP a few days back and was very discouraged due to weak targeting. I was focusing so much effort into targeting correctly that i would be a sitting duck for the enemies. I’m a controller player on the ps5 so i hope these settings work for me as well as they do everyone else. Thanks in advance bro!

I'm linking this video every time I play Seal Rock now. I'm SO glad you said West has an advantage because people who have played this game for years think it's false. Can't tell you how many times I see older players in the North head directly South & often keep battling them over nodes making us lose the game or pushing far past than they should. Very sick of players making shot calls when they've played the game for years but don't understand the strats or concept of push/pull. The ego struggle for them is real. Ty for keeping it real.

A year late, hope you are still active but this video and your other quick video on tab targetting made such a big difference in my pvp enjoyment. I thought I was just ok at pvp before but this made my experience drastically better!!! Hope you end up posting more soon, I took a 2-3 ish year break and am now back, hope to see a revival like that with this channel, these are great tips, I've watched every single video I think.

FF14 is the first and only MMO that I've experienced such a huge issue with simply targeting what you want. Let alone clicking a target and it never targeting, because of the various things that apparently block clicks whether it be some invisible hitbox on your HUD, markers, and whatever else. Through most of the game it doesn't matter since you're never really targeting much, but once you get into Frontlines and PvP is where you really start to wonder "how the hell is targeting so bad?" So many times someone will get away with 1hp just because you can't freaking target them.

At 1:52 seconds you say your "guard is forced". What do you mean by that? And do you have tips for controller players?

the PLD surviving (4:20) was painful. this kind of thing happens so much in CC, even in platinum and beyond it seems people just auto target instead of taking 1 second to look at who is at low MP/health. naw, lets target DRK with full MP and LB up instead of the BRD at 00000.1 HP, bravo

what is setting to show only jobs class in pvp?

I went from trying to find PVP Tanking tips to watching an 1 1/2 hour video on Rival Wings and all the Mechs. You definitely got me interested in RW now.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't work me. Lets say i'm being attacked by 3 enemy's and they're standing right in front of me - 1 meter away. When i press "targed nearest enemy" i'll get everything as a target, but not one of the 3 attackers... And sadly "targed nearest enemy" wont switch through targets rather keep it until i manual change it. When i switch through the targets with the regular tab i can easily spent 5 second to get the target that i want to and ... yes ... i'm already dead at this point. And yes, my target setting is not set to "from left to right" Anyone n idea? This is a cry of help =(

"As much fun in pvp as I do" There's no such thing as fun in pvp. There's people trying to slog through it or sweaty people playing a ranged dps or healer. Nobody knows how to focus on objectives and there's no way to turn around a loss from one play of people ignoring the objective and allowing them to get flanked.

Tab targeting is so archaic and everyone knows it. Idk why ppl keep making games with it

I'm still rather curious as to why it's near impossible to deal damage in the start of the match.
