I'm not a huge fan of this interpretation of Demeter, which is odd because I absolutely love their depiction of Hades and Hera. In the myths, the story of Demeter and Persephone is a tale that shows the devotion and bond and love between mother and daughter. While Hades isn't the bad guy in those myths, neither was Demeter. No one was the villain; it was the complexity of circumstance alone. I'm not a fan of making Demeter the villain by depicting her as power hungry and a controlling mother, as that strips away the complex and over simplifies the stakes. We end up rooting for Hades alone without really empathising the original Demeter's emotions and goals

Darn it. She didn't have to mess with the tree!! Also Demeter knows how much Persephone loves her husband and she still doesn't care! Look, I don't hate Demeter she is quite interesting and I hope there's more of her in season 3. But the contempt she has for Hades and Persephone's relationship is insane. Let your daughter be happy and be with her family! Demeter could also enjoy her grandchildren but that's another thing she doesn't care about💀 I know it sounds like I'm complaining, but actually I enjoy this familiar drama. It only makes my otp stronger lol

ANYONE here noticed that the art style has changed? I noticed from the first episode. I do kinda like this style though. Made the characters less complex looking. I do wish animation would stop doing that though. So far, I experienced two series who had their animation down graded a bit. Jujutsu Kaisen and now Blood of Zeus.

Huh, that was a surprisingly accurate reaction from hades. He was supposedly the most sympathetic god towards humanity's plight out of the major greek pantheon. Also, in terms of personality he was a dork. Like, who bames their three headed hellhound "spot"?

I can't be the only one who thinks Hades looks much like Kratos in this adaptation, complete with a beard similar to the one Kratos sported in the Norse series. Heck, there was even a suicide attempt on a cliff.

Crazy bitch just unleashed a suped up version of the Last of Us fungus and made it a thousand times worse than i ever wanted to see. Just so she could screw with the gods up on Olympus.

Where’s old Kratos when you really need him?

I read some of Greek mythology and Demeter was one of my favorites. So when this show made her evil and selfish, I can't bring myself to hate her. But i like the changes this series made. Story and characters are very interesting. It's very impressive this show made Demeter, a side character who was rarely on screen in season 1 to the most despiteful villain in season 2.
