Union Pacific MNWRV Manifest Freight Train Fremont-Centerville, CA UP 2404
FROM THE ARCHIVES! Union Pacific's daily Newark to Roseville manifest train begins its trip back to JR Davis Yard as it passes through Fremont's Centerville District. Standard operating practice for this train was to operate from Roseville to San Jose under the train symbol MRVSJ. The westbound train would terminate at Newhall Yard in Santa Clara, with the road power being staged to be picked up by the Salinas Hauler later on in the evening. After being picked up by the Salinas Hauler. the power would then be set out back in Newark Yard, to operate back east the next day under the train symbol MNWRV. The MRVSJ/MNWRV turn was eventually discontinued, and traffic is now handled by a combination of the MRVOA and the MOAOA, with locals handling the final miles. Leading today's train is UP 2404, an EMD 'Tri-Clops' SD60M, with UP 4026, an SD70M trailing. 11-29-2014

RARE Union Pacific ZG2OAB and IOANP Intermodal Trains Meet Union City, CA UP 7721 and 5805
Very nice video I only seen one train go through that area in Fremont. I live in San Jose and I don’t see too many trains only by the great mall in Milpitas keep your great videos coming.
There's nothing more rare than seeing a reverse set from Auburn being lead by 8306.
Wow he’s cruising through!
Beautiful shot! And nice rare catch!
Great video as always wish there was more traffic through this line and the Altamont
There are 2 daily freight trains on both lines and they are really predictable. Especially the IOANP
@@NorCaliRailroading2023 I know but I’m talking about seeing more variety freights on the lines
@@BoltsCardsNMore Centerville still gets the same variety as before. Manifest, autorack trains, intermodals, and locals. Only now altemont pass no longer gets manifest trains, only intermodals and autorack
Yeah It’s Great To See Some Dirty Dirt Cars In The Mix Of The MOAOA Jordan
Nice Sound of The E-Bell At 0:27
I Like The Bell On Union Pacific SD70M Number 3851 At 0:58
I Like The Sound of It When It Goes Around The Curve
Nice video, i miss the long starlight consists. Also, when I look back on old videos of trains at watsonville, i see somestimee see a trio of sd70s or sd59xs parked there at the watsonville junction. Do you know what train they were used for?
@@NorCaliRailroading2023 I know they used to be power for the rock trains that would operate to Santa Clara and back. Not sure what they’re used for now.
@@ROADTRAIN23 oh yeah I remember seeing oldish videos of the rock job using 6 axls power, that's ofcourse when they used those older rusted hopper cars.
when was this filmed?? it had to be at least 10 years ago because of the old baggage car and pacific parlor car.
It says 11-12-2014
WHA…HOW!?! I NEVER KNEW 547 DERAILED
What time does the AMICH usually go on duty?
The MRVSJ was the last daily mainline train on the UP coastline
Rip veterans unit P42 number 42
Nice throwback, man! It would be lovely to see an ALC-42 in this paint scheme, which it is sad that this engine and 90208 have been retired although ACS-64 642 and F40PH-NPCU 90221 wear them. Railfans thought 342 would wear a Veterans paint, but we were proven wrong.
RIP 42
Great catch. Sucks to see all the sd70s disappearing
Nice!
7215 was an Collision in 2012, but it was undamage
7215 Lost His old up Colors and was repainted into the new up New colors
Nice! I’ve yet to catch the new ICBOA.. that’s on my radar!
it takes cal p now no more lathrop work
@@NorCaliRailroading2023 oh really? That I didn’t know
@@ROADTRAIN23 yeah it sucks, at least now the MOAOA takes little coast going to warm springs most of the time early in the mornings, so Centerville gets something other than IOANP
@@ROADTRAIN23 rarely ICBOA might have to reroute thru Fresno sub tho
Always enjoy seeing any freight on this line one time saw the ZG2OAB stopped on Hearst Siding while I was on 680 heading home
Used to take this a lot to go visit someone. Love the trip. When I took it last the train had a small 2 or 3 machine arcade on board
I took this numerous times. It’s a great and very scenic trip!
Nice. Love the Capitol Corridor trains!
I posted the Video of your train at old town
Thanks! Any way I can check it out for myself?
No comments in 15 years? First then
Routine Starlight consist plus California Amtrak cabbage cars and ex NJ Transit Comarrow cars.
How do you access this siding? Also does the AMICH still go over Altamont?
@@maxnash8450 it’s off of Stanley Blvd, cross street is El Charro Road. Nearest landmark is Vulcan Materials Company right by the tracks. They have their own private railroad crossing. They have their own security as well, so if you visit try not to get too close.. And yes it still runs Altamont. It has to work Lathrop on its way East.
Alright thanks
@@maxnash8450 no problem!
Does the ITLT Lathrop Shuttle still run?
@@maxnash8450 unfortunately it was abolished a while back. Anything for Lathrop is now handled by the IOANP
@@ROADTRAIN23 Oh thanks so it’s just the IOANP and ICBOA now?
@@maxnash8450 that operate over the Altamont yes.
@@ROADTRAIN23 Ok thanks, is the IOANP still daily?
@@maxnash8450 to the best of my knowledge yes. Crew usually goes on duty between 9:00 AM and 12 N.

Will they be painted in the Surfliner paint scheme?
@@trainguy110 I have no idea, I would imagine no given that would take money that they don’t have..

They supposed to stay permanently here I’ve heard
@@Alex_filmz_stuffthey will need to come back because of the Venture cars
@@jackongames6005 the venture sets have built in cab cars
Will a similar consist operate tomorrow?
Not that I’m aware of. They’ve been putting this move off for a while now, and finally they made it happen today.
I thought it was going to take the Coast Subdivision and skip Fremont Centerville, but seems you were lucky enough to get it at this station. Great video, Jordan!
Thanks! I was tracking its routing to see which way it would go. Once I saw it on the Niles I made a beeline for Centerville, and made it just in time!
What a catch!
Thanks!
Sorry for the swearing but I get really really really Excited to see something out of the ordinary with trains
It’s all good!👍🏼
Oh PS did you caught the BNSF trains on both UP freights recently
Unfortunately no, I had to work
@@ROADTRAIN23 oh ok don’t worry I’m sure there will be others like there was one yesterday on the IOANP again it had the same units as the last time I caught them but some Railfan told me that UP is leasing more BNSF trains on UP freights hope we get a ATSF warbonnet leading one someday or soon the possibility are endless
HOLY SHIT!!! DUDE!! AWSOME!!!!!! Damn when was this???
Earlier today, just before 11AM
Good old days
Man those were the days of BNSF seeing older power units
They abolished the ZG2OAB
I saw that! Apparently it’s being replaced with the ICBOA, Council Bluffs to Oakland Intermodal train
@@ROADTRAIN23 yeah, will be interesting to see if it’s carrying the reefer containers or not
The railroads are missing out by not being more involved in running passenger trains not only to the Super Bowl but also to other football games. Doing so would increase the fun for football fans going to the games. Come on railroads, wake up.
Luckily ACE is doing it for the 49er games
"Leaving COLLL-FAX, CALIFORN-I-AXXX!" - from "US Highball" a cantata for vocalists and chamber ensemble about hobos riding trains, written by Harry Partch - eccentric American classical composer and train-riding hobo. of which a performance may be seen here: ua-cam.com/video/wjk4c8l-WJ8/v-deo.html (that particular line is at about 3:20). Note that the singers and musicians are all dressed as hobos. Also, the weird out-of-tune-ness is intentional: Partch's music contains many notes that are in the cracks.
I love this train. But I only take it from SF to just before Auburn. So I miss a lot of the beauty of the sierra sadly.
