Im an OW fan, who was not happy with OW2; and looked forward to Marvel Rivals. I like both games. I have my complaints with OW, being a long time fan; but both games have immense potential to be great. The anger with Blizzard is a bit understandable, but should be directed at Blizzard, not fellow gamers.

As someone who's played a lot of OW and some of MR, nothing has taken me out of MR more than just how the community acts. Its like the worst parts of the OW community joined MR and everyone is just super okay with how they talk to people. Even outside the game on youtube or tiktok all the comments on anything MR related is just people hating on OW. And it's super annoying because a lot of the OW community is vocal and really excited for a competitor to force blizzard to change up how they work the game and make it better. And instead of engaging with that MR players act like everyone who still plays OW are braindead children. Its just frustrating because its like MR cant form thier own identity seperate from OW due to this anger and want to PROVE its better than OW. I'm not touching Rivals again for a long time. I had about 5 games in a row on MR where there was some form of "go back to OW" said by someone and I'm just over it. It's a shame to because the game is SO FUN without the community being so angry.

To all those that are bashing overwatch players for "having stockholm syndrome" or just generally thinking overwatch is terrible, read below; Yes, we absolutely can enjoy both cakes. Because while you sit there and continue to bash the game, which- while I do agree that it's been underperforming; it also has done a LOT better lately. You cant blame the game, they game is this way because the suits at the top said so. That's disrespectful to all the hard working, loving devs that put their heart and soul into the game. They have plenty of respect for their player base. The suits dont. You need to realise that not everyone is out to get you bro. It's a simple corporate greed tactic to pay wall things. The devs can't do shit about it, and likely won't be able to do much for a while. They've done the steps they can take in the right direction. But reverting it all would get them all swiftly fired and replaced by a new team that has no idea what to do with the game. Bobby and the suits are the biggest reason the devs weren't communicative enough and the game turned out to be very greedy. I'm sorry. Overwatch is a place where all can fantasize about a world not so dissimilar to their own in which fighting the good fight is possible, even if disencouraged by corruption like today. Im not a superhero fan, marvel rivals- while quite fun, definitely one of my favorite games- just does not have the pull that overwatch does for me. Nobody is super in real life, everyone in overwatch has gone through pain, suffering, character development, all to not only gain their powers, but to hone them and become the warriors they wanted to be. Superheroes, while some have gone through pain and suffering, have mostly come off unscathed from it. Heroes in overwatch have reasons for fighting, other than "for good" like most superheroes do. Who in real life is amazing at something without training? Nobody. Overwatch agents had to train and hone their craft. Superheroes don't. They just are. Now I'm not saying that marvel rivals is worse. I'm saying the reason overwatch fans stick to overwatch is because we want to be related to. It's hard living in the real world. And if we can fight for a reason, fight for what's right. Even if we have to go through pain and suffering- we will. Luigi mangione is a PRIME example of overwatch's core philosophy. Reminds me exactly of the retribution archives event. If that CEO was just arrested, what would happen? He'd get out scott free. Luigi mangione is literally the life equivalent of Gabriel Reyes right now. He imagined the world for what it could be. And even if he did something wrong to do it, it's for a good reason. And it's for the greater good of the people. And for better Healthcare for all. Is that not what a prime example of an overwatch agent is? You dont see any superheroes apart from the occasional rare one who kills the corruption in our lives. That's the difference between marvel rivals and overwatch. Marvel rivals is about a fictional world with fictional stories and fictional people. Overwatch is a story about humanity, what it means to do good, and what it means to be a hero. Two very different games. Two very different meanings. Yes we can and will enjoy both our cakes and eat them too. Good day.

85% of the negativity and toxicity is MR players to OW and OW players. Its not an equal back and forth. MR players are incapable of enjoying their own game without mentioning OW every 5 minutes when talking about Rivals.

Basically all players that had issues with ow now have new weapon to criticise ow even harder. And you know what? I don't know these chinese guys but i sure do know that they didn't: 1) promised pve campaign with unique abilities system 2) Tried to deliver it for 4 years and Left ow to rot because of that 3) and in the end said "we don't have plans for pve campaign anymore. So ye, blizzard digged very deep grave for very long time, eventually facing all this hate of players that tired of sitting in that grave. - People for ages like Freedo cried for ban system in ranked. Guess what - rivals has it. - a lot of tanks cried for bringing 6v6 back. Guess what - rivals has it. - some og players missed pre role lock days - rivals has it as well. So that's it, everything people wanted in overwatch, rivals delivered them. For me personally, i prefer quick plays without role locks. Better have third dps than moira in my team every single match. And i ran away from ow to space marine 2, because 40 euros for a skin hurted my broky feelings too much...

Here's what I have to say if overwatch was not here then the game Marvel Rivals would not be here at all. I mean marvel rivals copycat overwatch if I'm being honest. Plus I'd play marvel rivals but it feels like I'm playing overwatch Despite being a different game it still has the same thing overwatch has because the characters from marvel rivals are literally like characters from Overwatch. For example:winter soldier is like Cole cassidy, psychic if I'm saying her name right is like sombra, that woman with the ice is like Mei and I forgot her name but she's the one who almost beat Thanos with iron man,spider-man, daxx, Dr strange and star lord. She is like zen.

Both games are equally good. Rivals is more fast paced and OW feels more like a coordinated game. I play BOTH shocking I know. People act like you can’t play both. The people who switched to rivals and deleted OW ONLY played OW which is what they will do with rivals. They’re going to burn themselves out. They could be like us giga chads who know it is possible to play multiple games and enjoy both. Rivals players are extremely toxic and OBSESSED with talking about OW it’s kinda concerning. My friend who hasn't even played the game and can't even play it is already saying how OW is trash and Rivals is better, and it makes me not wanna play it now. Like genuinely, the game looks fun and cool, and I'd wanna try, but now that people wanna insult me for wanting to play OW and stuff, it makes me not wanna join MR now. Like all the creators I watched for OW for rants and stuff, it makes me wanna unfollow them, too, cause they keep shoving this agenda. ...Ok I thought the idea of her time travelling was just a funny crack theory but comparing her healing to the song from Tangled actually makes it make a lot of sense--healing through de-aging to a previous version of yourself. Cleanse being a targeted time-reversal like Tracer's recall also actually sounds really cool. Makes me respect that ability now lol.

large part of it is people wanting to act all high and mighty about being right and having to rub it in everyone else's faces. For me, there was a time I genuinely enjoyed ow, when I was playing with my friends, but my friend got unfairly banned (because the ow community support team is horrible) and I've just been playing if there's some new shiny cosmetics I can earn, I realized that and I just don't think I can enjoy it alone, like I can for Rivals. Stay strong everyone! Have fun playing whatever you want!

I will say that I do see Marvel Rivals as a wake up call for Blizzard since they needed some good competition for a long time, but you shouldn’t be getting bullied/harassed just for playing a game you enjoy. At the end of the day you’re still free to play whatever game you want.

Literally just like most of these online titles both Overwatch and Rivals are gonna have their own good amount of players and in a few months later nobody will even care. Overwatch will be in its corner chillin and Rivals will be in its own corner chillin with each their own playerbase literally nothing will even happened

I love both Overwatch and Marvel, but I'm shocked people love Rivals so much. It feels/looks like a mobile game. It's slow, stiff, floaty, and the characters don't feel nearly as deep. It has like 3 maps and the skin prices aren't much cheaper. I'm so confused why people are praising it as "the Overwatch killer" when it's basically the same damn game with less content. (Also it committed the same sin of making most their roster damage/duelist heroes...lol.) I will say, however, that Rivals seems less dependant on roles. I usually only see 1 vanguard and 1 strategist (usually me) and 4 duelists, and yet the matches seem to function just fine. In Overwatch, that team comp would crumble. That's the single aspect I think Rivals has over Overwatch, it's easier to get into and more casual, which I suspect is why it has so many players. Imo, the love for Rivals isn't love for Rivals. It's just a bunch of bitter ex-girlfriends trying to make Blizzard feel jealous with their rebound lol. I get it, Blizzard sucks and OW2 has had a rough run, but the devs have also been consistently improving things (more free currency, free heroes, reworked competitive, bringing back on-fire, even several free skins the past few events). I still like Overwatch because I don't take it too seriously. All the people screaming Overwatch is dead (even though it still has players and is still updating...) are so embarrassing. It's just a game. Both can exist, and I want both to succeed. I don't want either to have to fail. ...But Overwatch is better ;)

As someone who has 90% switched over to marvel rivals I cant understand why people think you cant enjoy both games. I think both games fulfill a different purpose, a different itch. I love Overwatch for their original characters characters (despite the obvious favorites) and every now and then Ill open OW to play some echo, her gameplay style is just so fun and MR could honestly never replicate that for me. Same thing for Jeff, OW could never replicate the gameplay of Jeff. While I find myself preferring MR you cant deny that OW has things that MR doesn't and will keep me coming back every once in awhile

The thing is, Marvel Rivals' players are OBSESSED with Overwatch. It's so f weird, like... just play your game and don't bother others. It's NOT that difficult. We all know Marvel Rivals is going to fall off eventually, and then what? Are people going to hate the game (and the devs) by then? Most likely. It's such a content farming hype train game it's embarassing 😂 The game is fun, but the content creators will 100% kill it, since all they do is slander other IPs. They are so desperate, that a "normal" and "regular" video of Marvel Rivals, be it montage, showcase, commentary or gameplay, ALL have to mention the word "Overwatch" (usually insulting the game)... They do this just for the sake of being annoying and disrespecting other communities for no reason...

The hate of ow players for marvel rivals: Here's my take, a majority of the blame is to be directed at the ow creators, some of them would blatantly bash on rivals at first cus they didnt want to lose their viewers (their source of income) to rivals streamers. Second, ow players have been putting up with blizzard's antics for so long that they've forgotten what they were supposed to be granted in the first place, so when rivals gets introduced with all these player friendly features and content, ow players will feel like their wait for blizzard to eventually step up was all for nothing. Third, ranked, some competitive players were hesitant to try out rivals (including myself) since they could only really focus on one competitive shooter

As a player and fan of both franchises, Marvel Rivals just does a lot of things so much better than Overwatch. It feels like a breath of fresh air playing Rivals

The main reason I think that EA pulled the plug on The Sims 4 is because they didn't what the backlash of the Sims community coming down on them for making us all buy all packs again. Its been 10 years and in that 10 years they have made us all paid up $2000 to play this game. They would lose players if they stopped supporting the sims 4 and a lot of us would just uninstall and not even bothered with sims 5. So yes the main reason is they would lose money, and what I could see of "Project Rene" it was going to be to complicated for the average Sims player to master. Remember this game is intended for people of all ages including kids.

I feel like it wouldn't be that hard to just... release a legendary skin for them. Like just do it Blizzard. They seem to quadruple down on NOT doing it and I just don't get it. Just make some skins for every character once in a while, it's really not that hard?? Make slutty boy skins too.
