Sorry folks, I don't know what happened to the video the first time I uploaded it, it blacked out after the first couple of minutes. Thanks for your patience while I figure this stuff out ;) Thanks to everyone who is watching! Please co...

Bobcat S160 Fluids get changed

Here I go through the steps of how I changed the hydraulic fluid as well as the engine oil and fuel filter in my skidsteer.
those lil machines are dangerous
they are better if the operator uses them for what they are for, unlike me ;)
What do you use for fluid in your machine?
I can't remember, but if I remember correctly, I purchased it from Fleet Farm, not from the dealer
That boom splitter would be good for stump splitting.
yeah, I could try that
Did you say your daughter would stack the wood? Is she an Amazon?
Good video. It went about the way I thought it would. When you use those screw type splitters. You need to split your whole log and then buckem to length. I always thought they were nothing but an accident going someplace to happen.
Thanks, I just had to test the possibility of splitting from the machine without having to chase the splits around. Now that I think about it, I'm probably the accident going someplace to happen. :)
Good grief be careful on that thing. You should put 90 degree fittings on those lines and tie them up. Also, if you get the auger stuck again (you will lol) if you hit the wood on the end in a counterclockwise direction with a hammer, other piece of firewood, etc. it will usually dislodge it. I might have missed it in the video but how much did you end up getting it for with all of those extras?
I have another video coming out in regards to hooking up the attachment, As far as getting that darn thing stuck, I get pretty stubborn about not doing any manual labor once I have a piece of equipment :). The mini excavator winning bid was $3600 and the spitter was $400 from memory, of course there were auction fees, taxes on top of both of those so I'm into it for roughly 1.2 million $ now.
Like your video Im at the same level you are unit and at the same level you are but I have some useful mod info for PM me
Cool, thanks
mine is similar with the cab and I have hit my head before, but no blood. i want to add some kind of counterweight to mine.
that's a good idea
Get a chance to get quick change for attachments. Makes fast to change. The get quick attachments for hoses. Go to hydraulic shop and pick up. Or call first to see if they have metric adapters. I use 7/8 bolt and 3/4 conduet . Where i live harf to get metric bolts. When i tried 1 inch to large. Turn the auger around so the hoses toward u. Then you wount scew the hoses. Buy the auger attachments so use for that to. I have seen one or make one that works like your log spliter on your mini. And it was a bouble edge. That way split from what side it on
the only thing I worry about with the quick change attachments is the height of the stick to the ground. I agree that quick change adapters on the hoses would be great. I have another video coming out soon w/ the auger attachment turned around. Thanks for watching!
@dabarn the quick attachment will add about 4 to 6 inches to the length. I have used one for about 2 year. That's the one u tighten and losen. I'm going after the spring loaded one now.
that adds less than I thought. the spring loaded one seems to make sense.
thank you for sharing your rookie move, this has taught me to pay attention for dangers of working on the side
Glad to help, lesson learned. Thanks for the comment!
This kit don’t come with any brackets ?
They had some universal brackets, but they don't cooperate w/ square bodies.
Just my opinion but in sure your tracks are on backwards and cause stretching of then more
Hmm, I'll have to take a look at that
Looks like typical Chinese Junk to me.
I believe you are correct sir.
Maybe install table on splitter and use machine to pick up set on table. Appreciate your honesty. So you have a post hole digger now.
That's a good idea. I'll figure something out to do with it
Just subscribe to you You did a good job Better put a seatbelt on next time But you always gotta bring it to you before picking up But it was good video I liked it have a good day my friend have a good day my friend Stay safe my friend
Thanks for the sub, I appreciate you!
Thanks for sharing your experience with this splitter 👍 Good video 😊 Bummer you broke your hydraulic line.
Thanks, Its nothing that I can't fix up, its all a learning lesson
Got the same Rig, have you had an increase in play in your turret swing . Got mine at auction.. I need to find an a outlet for parts and attachments.. do you have a source
I only have about 3.5 hrs on it so far so no added play. I haven't had to look for parts yet so I don't have a direction to point you toward as of yet.
Screw augers have a huge learning curve better if split logs in long lengths, not short rounds. i have one on my big skidsteer, and it will spin a 2000 lb 10 ft log if not braced against a large immovable object, but they work well once get hang of it. Yes need as much hydraulic hp to split
I'm curious, with the longer length logs do you have to split multiple times?
@dabarn Just keep working along the log starting at one end working all the way down to the other end make sure don't go to deep and get splitter stuck. Sometimes on hard dead wood I will make a few plunge cut so splitter will start.
makes sense! Thanks,
You also put the Auger on backwards.
Well crud. I had that exact thought a time or two along the way. Now I need to try it again! Thanks!
I have the same setup... Where did you get the cone attachment for that Auger?
I purchased it from a local online equipment auction.
Don't try this, near impossible to get wires through the door to the cab. They way under-estimate the time and frustration, extra holes to drill. At least in an 87
It was a bit tricky, but I didn't have to drill extra holes in my 83. I really dislike wiring, I would pretty much rather do anything else.
Just bought that kit and the directions don't match the actual wire colors, gotta love LMC..
Thats too bad, I don't remember that being an issue.
Great job overall………… perhaps before doing the changes again, run the machine for a time. This will make emptying oils a lot more fluidly…… you know . Thanks so much for your effort, very very helpful. 😊
Great point!, I usually fall into the trap where it either too hot or stone cold, never a happy medium ;)
Cool truck!
Thanks, I think so too.
It’s ok honey…I don’t need much of an excuse to buy new “slacks.” 😂
.....Busted.....
Your doing good so far man. Doesn't matter what others think so try not to lose that humble value you have. You seem like you like to tinker so I'm looking forward to more commentary on how you do things from your perspective lol. Thank you for making this video. Nothing is perfect nor has to be. I think the ol girl deserves a little TLC though, she's put her time in. A wash, cotton swab and air compressor her bits. Little paint. Who knows what beauty could emerge from the ashes.😊. Please concider continuing.
Appreciate your remarks. I do like to tinker and seem to have an infinite amount of projects :) Thanks for watching!

Hi 👋, I have just left you a message on your elevator build,
I'll take a look, thanks
Hi 👋, from the future, I have been looking 👀 at a lot of elevators builds , I have been looking at a product called uni track, not sure now I’ve seen yours whether these are strong enough to do what I need to do, I think the roller gear that is used is strong enough, but not sure about the track, I have a full story property, an old mill, I want to bear to bring tools and equipment from basement up into the attic, at present, I have four flights of stairs to come up, And I’m thinking of building a platform, a approximately two and a bit metres wide, nearly a metre and width, A bit like you, I want to bring a bike up, HD , ONE OF MY BIGGEST PROBLEMS, I DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF SPACE, And in the winter months, I want to be able to bring up loads of logs for my log burner, once a week I spend 3 to 4 hours bringing logs up, my other main issue is my age, I’m in my 70s, so looking at the process you have done, I was thinking of doing something similar only using roller bearings as the guide for the rails, what’s your opinion please if you ever manage to see this, from mill
I've noticed that lots of folk around here use the uni strut type channel for their builds like this. I looked into it a bit as well. I wanted to avoid joints in the vertical channel and I'm also quite frugal. I had the angle iron already in my stock pile so that is why I went that route. Depending on how far from the wall the platform sticks out I believe that most of the weight is handled by the beam above which holds the lift. I'm no engineer though, I'm just a knucklehead that likes to work with my hands ;)
@@dabarn Hi , thanks for your reply, Don’t knock, knuckleheads, They are a great Bike, 😂, and yes, a great idea, repurposing materials, And I agree with the idea of not having a joint in the track , I’ve put I’m going to need approximately 18 m all in one length, I think I might struggle getting it into my building ha ha, Part of my problem is going to be where the elevator comes through the floor, I’ve got to be able to put the floor back down so I can walk on it safely, I think I’m going to have to build two trap doors that open out away from each other from the centre, so when they close back down they can lock back in position, thank you for your input. Stay safe,
The name of those blankets are called hero blankets that fire fighters use for grill fires and kitchen fires to.
I should probably have a couple of these around here anyway.
Staying warm inside while enjoying the outdoors and can close off the bottom after done 🎣 fishing to clean & prep & cook to eat while stocking up for food storage to simplified. Cause you can heat your enclosed camper with A propane heater unit easily to. Yes I'd put on two mini doors side one and back one to for A dual emergency exits and pack A fire fighter blanket and extinguisher along to.
all good ideas.
I'd try to find yourself A small pull behind trailer to convert it in A mini camper. For while ice fishing. That has A hole in the bottom of it with rubber seals around the bottom that drops down on welded on hinges that latch with pins. A Canvas like tent set-up., wood and aluminum enclosed camper hull box on poles like stilt tubes squared that can deattach from all four corners. By pins that has pin holes down inside squared slots. That has been drilled into them for mounting onto your trailer as As portable and removable set-up on the fly. That has stored away with castor's. That can be connected with pins into those square tubes. For later storage purposes.,an rolling around after lifting it off of the trailer to be stored for next time usage again.
That's a good idea right there.
A suggestion to yah on that wench button is spray A squirt of WD-40 inside of the area that you push to clean off the dirty contacts inside of that wench controller box unit. If I had one of those I'd probably be doing the same things to it.,or similar to most likely. With A little bit differently add on to it also. Like security cameras hidden wifi and Bluetooth capability set-up to.
Thanks for the tip!
I've heard the do something, no to the roll bar, love the truck.
Thanks for the comment, I love the truck as well!!
The relays are a 100% improvement, same as headlight relays, I melted my dimmer switchto my floor afterca headlight upgrade, relays prevent that, make the headlights much brighter. The kits are pricey for what you get though, easily assembled by someone that can read a wiring diagram
Yeah, I sometimes get nervous when working with the electrical, but if you take your time and plan it out it usually works out well. Thanks for the comment.
That auger mount is exactly what I needed for a reference. The others I've seen mount to the bumper or something or getting the hood open was tough. Thank you
Its worked well for me so far!
@dabarn I spent the last 2 days and made my own version of this. I bolted a post to the Frame of the snowmobile under the hood. Made a small hole in one of the vents in the hood. And the rack slides into the post when the hood is closed. Pull the pin and remove the rack to open the hood
Great video. Hoping for the same results on my 78 chevy caprice.
Good luck!, its been working for me so far.
Looks good. I have a similar sled and am going to attempt to make the same front mount.
Awesome, good luck.
Looks like a Monarch vise. I find it amazing you are happy it is 21 degrees out. I was in the garage last night, it got down to 31 around 5pm and I went in the house. Interesting rail system for the elevator. Curious how it performs with time. Definitely keep an eye on the hoist line as you lower the elevator, watching to see if it hangs up again.
Yeah, I try to look on the brighter side of things, life is just too darn short to get bogged down with things that I can't do anything about. So far they elevator is working great, no hang ups yet.
Nice work! DIYing is all about starting and stopping and re-thinking. You came up with a system that will work for you. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, I appreciate the view and the feedback, I just like using my hands to make it myself, sometimes it even works out for me :)
Thank you for the video. I needed this
You're welcome, glad it was helpful.
dang I watched this to see if you were going to change the chain case oil
Dang it, sorry to disappoint :)
@@dabarn how do you drain the chain oil? Is it by the fuel tank plug? And fill through the plate with like 6 bolts that’s between your legs when sitting?
There is a plug in front skid plate. You have to pump it out and fill until it's just in the verge of overflowing.
@@EricBechtold thanks, I found it a while back, did exactly that
I have put new parts in one of my doors and it is marginally better than it was originally, but I am debating adding this kit to help it out. I am glad you have had success with this. I hope it keeps working for you!
So far its been working great, but I guess only time will tell. Thanks for watching!!
Gotta love the fact the girls don’t mind helping
I agree, I try to include them as often as I can. They don't need to do it as a career, I just like getting them the experience.
@@dabarn overstood I have two of my own
Hey brother . My passenger switch is operating my driver side 😂 . And my driver passenger switch operates the passenger switch as it should . For some reason my passenger switch doesn’t operate my passenger window . Any clues . Thanks 😊
Hmm, that seems odd. I'm not very good at diagnosing electrical issues. I guess I'd check where you made splice and make sure nothing is shorting across.
its always that bearing .. not a quick fix but you had the rite puller do this for a living lol
Now I know, Thanks for watching!
That's not smurf blue. It's Puddin's Fab Shop blue. As far as using anything from lmc, I'll pass .I made that mistake with their bed floor patch panels. And they were stamped sooo far off it wasn't even funny. Never again.
Haha, it is pretty close to his signature color isn't it? Luckily the small patch panels that I have been working with have worked out so far. Do you have company that supplies metal that you like better? I'm always looking for ways to improve. Thanks for watching.
nice work. I've got a 86 k5 blazer that's been a SITTING PROJECT for 3 years. bought it unseen and the majority of the floor is toast. the biggest speed bump for me is the rear floor at the gate. lots of connections points to consider. I also don't have a dedicated space to work on it and leave it, its outside. I'm a carpenter not a body man. very encouraging to see you make progress with a very humble attitude towards it. I lol at your " tip " about leave space to release your slide hammer and knock the dent back in.
Sounds like you and I have lots of similarities. I would love to get my hands on a half decent K5. Good luck with your project.
@@dabarn I need to buy some pins and have the same stud puller. Did u find a certain size worked better?
To be honest I started with the thicker studs (I think 3mm....I don't know metric ;) and had good enough luck that I never tried the thinner ones.
It feels great brining stuff back from the dead.....Cheers
I agree, its such a good sense of accomplishment. You get to look back at the end of the day a see what you did and can do. Thanks for watching!!
