    is $2100 overpaying for an Arsenal slr-107cr?

    • @conceptualconcepts6.9
      @conceptualconcepts6.9 2 дні тому

      @@austinburke9718 depends on your definition of overpaying unfortunately. Collectors/cool value-no, they’re going for closer to 2500, the machining is top tier and it’s a Bulgarian build so everything is top of the line in terms of fit and finish. And I don’t see it going down in value. Capability value-yes… the SLR107CR doesn’t honestly do anything a draco or modified WASR doesn’t… the accuracy, durability, and reliability isn’t better. Machining is better and the 100 series side folding system is cool (but know the SLR107CR isn’t a true 100 series. Front trunnion and bolt are AKM. Front sight/gas block aren’t 100 series spec.) even after adapting a stock system and tax stamp to the draco you’re floating 5-700 less than a stock 107CR. (And it still needs to get threaded by a gunsmith.)Or setting up a WASR similarly, with having a gunsmith install a front sight gas block, cut the barrel and pin and weld like mine. I bought this 107CR around 2016 for $900 Personally in current day if I were to start over I’d do a draco/wasr build for the money I could get out of it.

    I have a primary arms 3x micro on a dustcover rail to keep it low on my ak. If you have it on the lowest mount you can put an arisaka 2.26 t2 mount in front of it and you can then use a t2 pattern dot in front of it. It works like a piggyback dot and is super sturdy but it does look jank. A guy on a delta34 video recommended it and I found his write up on arfcomso i have to give him credit for the idea. Im using a vortex dot right now and its ok for passive but not great. Im going to use ky Christmas bonus to get an aems and an adapter so I can have the best of both worlds (on a budget)

      @@ozarkman291 I haven’t seen the mk2.1 for $350 (the cheapest I’ve seen is $520) but if you can find one at that price then the big question would be do you want magnification or not. The mk2.1 doesn’t have enough optic rail to get a magnifier back far enough to use. But it does afford you the free float rail which does keep the HG cooler longer and doesn’t cause shifts of impact when pressure is applied. All is a give and take.

    Very good points. I also prefer the AK but I am old and weight is critical. 5.56x45 ammo is considerably lighter, and more abundant. The days of cheap AK ammo are gone. I need to cull the herd and I will probably be selling off my 7.62x39. I will miss my Ruger bolt that takes AK mags. Looking at alternatives. You wont really know what you need until it happens. My AR is a gas piston with an LPVO. My Mossberg bolt takes AR mags and id sub moa with good ammo. Also looking at a PCC with matching pistol. Easy to suppress and I don't like noise. Draws predators.

    I prefer the ak. I’ve loved them since playing counter strike with my cousins when I was like 7. Just a thing I guess. But as far as ammo goes, all the prices suck no matter what rifle you have so we all suffer there. Based on the endless research I’ve done on ARs, the price of a mid tier duty type AR is still typically more than an upgraded wasr. I send all my wasrs to a gunsmith for various upgrades and it costs me about $300. So even at the high end that’d be a $1,200- $1,300 rifle and I consistently see ARs recommended that are at least that cost but typically $200 more for just the base gun without irons or anything. So idk I go back and forth constantly cuz I love this stuff but the ak still has my heart. Great video man love your stuff
