What I started doing was basically going after I saw two short springs back to back. I got up to 143,100 increasing my high score from 105,300. So give that a shot if your having trouble.

Finally made it past the L4 spring board for the first time. It was also my first 100k+ game. A few games later I made it through again. I am hoping this will become easier and easier as time goes by. :)

Calling this one of the easiest is hard to understand. For me, it is still the hardest. Rather than wait for the long spring, I have been running when the spring is slightly less than a long spring, and this seems to work for me. I wonder if this works for anyone else? The video refers to standing over the third "upside-down V". He actually has to stand over the second "V". If I stand there long enough I get hit. If you are one pixel off, you get hit. So instead, when I first reach the platform, I gently tap the joystick left three times. Pausing next to the ladder seems too difficult. You have maybe just a second to make the decision whether to run up the ladder. I have not yet mastered when to abort. It is hard to watch the next spring while you are watching Jumpman trying to move him up the ladder. Whether moving left or right you can start moving when the spring hits the ground to the left of you. This helps, but I have yet to master aborting. Although the long spring might be ideal, it seems to work when the spring lands a little bit to the left of the long spring.
