    I like listening to this in the background sometimes while I work, because I don't understand what he's saying but I can feel the ambience. The ticking clock punctuating the silence especially reminds me of sitting in my grandmother's house on a rainy afternoon.

    So beautiful to watch! I love how he works for about an hour and stop to contemplate what he has done. Love how he’s talks about his vision for this scene.

    Interesting how today most younger artists would never work without a computer at the same desk for reference. I'm also surprised he works with a yellow light at the desk, as that can affect the colors you mix and color comparision.

    What sort of brushes is he using? That big brush can go to an incredibly fine point! Can't get that from my western sables

    • @Kikan319
      @Kikan319 3 роки тому

      He more than likely uses natural hair brushes. Which are the easiest to keep pointed. Also, he applies light strokes. He isn't putting that much pressure on the brush. It's all in the type of brush and how you maintain them. This video should help you get a clear idea on how to clean them and keep them fine. ua-cam.com/video/GL-TgxXXRx0/v-deo.html

    I love how modest is he talking about the process of his work, he has no prob with saying I don't know if this is the roght color or I can't predict the result, I just try...just wow I think young artists can learn a lot from this

      A good Japanese artist to emulate and study if your trying to paint like Oga Kazuo would be Kawai Gyokudo. That period of nihonga school where western elements are mixed with more older Japanese traditional painting is in my opinion the origin of ‘Ghibli look’.
