Great rendition of a RUSH classic. I love the vocals by Poliapolis because it leads to a softer sound. I also love the inclusion of the violinist, Bettina that gave it a classical edge. Marcos got a good sound out of the drum kit smaller than what Neil used. Thanks for sharing

I did it with an external vocoder and resampled it into the MODX. Then I decided to use the chromatic scale to sample each slice to make it easier and more user-friendly. I bet you are gonna love it.

But at the start of the video they are already set up and named. I have a performance already part programmed, I want to have a section of the keyboard assigned to an external midi device. When I select the part I want to use it goes to the category screen with all the internal patches. How do I tell it I want to control external MIDI only?
Sure. You gotta click on the part (1,2,3 etc), edit (not category), zone settings and select the midi channel according to your external device. Exactly how I did with the M3r at the start of the video.
But I’m trying to edit a performance. Each time I click on the + it takes me to categories. If I then select an internal sound to go in the slot/zone and click edit, the zone setting option you show doesn’t appear. So how do I have zones for internal sounds and zones for midi set up on the same performance? I want to play internal sounds on some keys, and trigger external sounds on others. Can this be done from the MODX screen?
@@davedagreat69 I totally understand where you're coming from. Basically, you need to mute the internal sounds you don't want to use in the performance. It is better to start with an "init" template. Please send me an email so I can show you with some screenshots: whattherec@gmail.com.

The violinist makes this even more exceptional. I am from STL MO and my first live show was at the Stl Arena in 1978 "Farewell To Kings" Tour. A Life Long Fan. Bumped into Geddy on a Friday in Richmond Heights at the Esquire Theatre. That was the day after I attended their show on "Roll The Bones Tour" Great to see that younger fans are still excited about them. RIP Neil and warm wishes for Ged and Alex.

@@whattherec I had a MODX a few years ago and did a 1999 patch from scratch. Sounded pretty good, but I traded up to get the new Montage M. With that AN-x engine I was able to add a few more synth layers and now that patch sounds HUGE!

Not sure but the theory is the same. I think as long as the synth has a usb to device port it will be possible. However, check with Roland first if this will not damage your synth ! 🙏
