    Did the sliding kickdown rod linkage come with the carb ? I just bought a AVS 2 and it does not have it i have a older ford 69 with a 390 .

      I did the same swap on my 351 W but with the AVS 2 Edelbrock,650 CFM it has the lever for the kickdown on the carb but I'm looking for some instructions on adjusting it , mine has the rod that was common on older Ford's with the ,C4 ,,/ C6 / fmx I'm not the biggest fan of Edelbrock carbs but I can say one thing they are reliable and with the AVS 2 Edelbrock you can convert it to a dual line like the Holley they sell an add on line kit with an inline filter and you can get it in both single and dual line set up

      @@drjohnsonhungwell5115 Thanks for that I just got tired of messing around with the Holly all the time I love Holly the parts are no longer the same quality I had needle an seats get stuck on me after 300 miles ? . Holly box Holly parts I I just want to drive it I don't want to tinker it every time I take it out if yours had the kickdown lever on it hopefully the one I bought has it too .

      @@TheThirdWheel618 I think we both need EDL 8011 to make the kickdown work right I saw some pics on one on a forum I had to get EDL 1483 throttle lever for mine but I believe that 8011 will solve my kickdown problem

    • @drjohnsonhungwell5115
      @drjohnsonhungwell5115 3 місяці тому

      @@TheThirdWheel618 I may be wrong about that EDL 8011 but this lever on mine is toward the carb body and the kickdown rod fits over it but it's fitting loosely may need new bushings for the rod but I haven't figured out the setting on it yet because all of the ones I used to see the lever was tight and stationary and would only move when the throttle kicked it back

    Hey where does the hose on the nipple connect to? I’m trying to replace mine but it doesn’t have a hose connected to it so not sure where that is supposed to go.

      I have an 82 f250. Same engine setup as yours 5.8l 351w. Seems like someone disconnected all of the EGR components. I’m trying to add it back but struggling to find any documentation how it’s done. A video showing the rest of the egr setup would be amazing. Thanks so much.

    If want people to take you serious then first remove them silly rubber gloves, Also the only reason you use a brass rod to loosen or tighten that fuel tank lock ring is to prevent spark so the tank will not explode in someones face. Keep up the vids they do help many people

      The fact that you don't take your own safety and wellbeing is your own issue lmao. Don't project that onto other people, those gloves make him more credible not less. Let's not encourage people to fuck their body's up and cover their skin in harmful chemicals unnecessarily

      Hey I did some searching and was not able to find it. I think you are looking in the right location. It seems like on the Fords from my research it is most likely located under the dash in the passenger corner (I briefly eyed around and couldn't see it) or near the drivers side fuse box (which I didn't see it there either). I also looked under the hood and saw what looked just like the relay switch (www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1986,f-150,5.8l+351cid+v8,1121678,electrical-switch+&+relay,door+lock+relay,3656) . That was located on the driver side by the brake fluid reservoir.

      Hope you found it by now. If not, this is for an '85 but it shows #12 to be the power locks relay www.justanswer.com/uploads/tableland/2008-05-17_152920_2008-05-17_122621.png

    Nice work bro. Really like your video. Very Helpful. Nice truck too. I started yesterday on my 1985 f150, but the frame and engine and tank are 1980s models f250. I need a fuel sending unit just like yours. Do you this you can helpe. I've looked everywhere for this sending unit nit no one has it. Can you send me the part number for the sending unit. Thank you.

    Doing the same now on 84 bronco. Do I need the spacer and exactly what size studs did you use for the bracket

    • @hopefullyhelpful4157
      @hopefullyhelpful4157 Рік тому

      Hey Jacob, sorry been off of this for a while. Assuming your Bronco has a 351 Windsor, if you are going to leave the egr on then yes you will need the spacer. I think the length that I went with for the studs was probably 3 inches (or more). For the spacer is 1 inch, the carb which is about an inch, the screws need to have length to get into the body, and then you have to account for the bolts on top.
