How to Prepare for the Formal Wear Competition | Episode 7 | National American Miss
Hi everyone! It's Caitlyn Kramer. Your 2019-2020 National All American Miss! Welcome to my UA-cam Channel!
In this episode I give you tips on how you can be successful in the Formal Wear competition. I go over how to pick a formal wear gown and how to stand out and get the best score you can during your competition.
Formal Wear is a fun area of competition where you get to show your personality through your gown and learn to present yourself confidently on stage to the judges and audience.
*Due to COVID-19 there may be changes on how the required and optional competitions will run for the 2020 state pageants. As of 5/20/2020 the California, Florida, Oregon, Washington, and Texas state pageants will note have escorts for the 2020 state pageants. As for the other states contestants are advised to check with their state directors. The walking patter will be the same for every state, it will just depend on a state to state basis on whether you will have an escort or not. Proper hygiene and social distancing will be maintained. The logistics for your specific state event will be provided by your state director prior to the event. For more information please visit namiss.com/2020.

How many seconds do we get for nationals ?
60 seconds
What is city queen?is it same as runner up?
At the state competition if you place in the Top 5 for your state queen title or if you place in the Top 5 in any of the options you have the option to go to nationals and compete for the All-American Miss title (you would represent your city instead of your state). If your state does not have a NAM State Pageant or you are a Miss Division contestant and don't have a state pageant then you apply through the Appointed Representative Program. If you win your state title through there then you are a state queen, if you don't win you can still apply to be a city queen and compete for the All-American Miss title.
What sash do you get as a runner up? I got runner up this year for the ARP program as a preteen.
If you are a runner up to the state queens title you can apply through the ARP program which would then give you the option to purchase your city queen banner (sash)! Congratulations!

@@CaitlynKramer So right before a Pageant weekend I had back surgery that left me partially paralyzed and I had a walk with a cane after a lot of intensive physical therapy lol. I fell about approximately 200 times once on stage real hard during finals but that was the only time on stage so thank God lol and I just was determined and push through every challenge that came my way and background my first pageant at Nam I got top 15 my second year at Nam top 10 And this past year I was fourth runner-up I got top five and I placed an all optional contest and I somehow got the missed personality runner-up award needless to say I’m extremely proud of myself and your videos help me a lot so I love you for that keep doing you and being the sparkly sunshine light that you are

Hello! I’m sorry to hear that your state pageant got cancelled, but the ARP is great and I really hope to see you at nationals this year! For my headshot I did not use a fan! I think it’s all about good lighting, a good photographer, and great hair and makeup! Remember you don’t have to break the bank! I did my own hair and makeup and had a local photographer do my headshots all for around $30! Follow my personal Instagram @caitlynkramer to go and see my headshot from this past year!

I will have to do a video of this in the future. If you are unsure of how to do makeup at your pageant you can hire a hair and makeup artist: Makeup By MasKara is a great option. For appearances or everyday pageant makeup I would say keep it natural and use the makeup to enhance your best features! You still want to look like yourself!
