Hello there, I'm Rob. Making these here videos to explore my interests in the outdoors and my other hobbies. Hope you find something you like here to chill out to. Cheers.
Autumn Walk 2024
Hello again,
Another chilled out stroll through the Autumnal countryside. I wanted to check out the woodland management that had been done to combat the Ash dieback in The Thicket. Then continue the walk from St Ives, to Houghton, Hemingfords and back. Making the most of an unseasonably nice week of weather, good job I did as it has been wet ever since.
Hope you enjoy this video, there is another already in the can ready to upload next week.
Until then,
Cheers,
Rob

Brew with a View

Hello there, It's been a while hasn't it? This is a chilled out hike on Remembrance Day, 11th November. I hiked across the fields and found a nice little spot to fire up the stove for a brew and some early lunch at 11am, spending some time to reflect and remember. Lot's of crunchy leaves and Autumnal vibes in this one. Stay tuned, already have another video in the can for next week. Cheers for ...
Bimble on the Bike

Hello again, Hope you are having a nice weekend (as I write this). I went out during the week for a leisurely ride around the Shire. I did about 22 miles in the end, so a good leg stretcher, and bike tester. Still playing around with the bike packing set-up on the mtb, think I have it almost spot on now for a future adventure. The weather was nice, bit breezy, and a bit rainy on the way home. B...
Lake District 2024

Hello there, Hope you all had a nice Easter, maybe you are still on your hols or a break from the usual routine. Here is a little highlight video of our recent family trip to The Lake District. We had a great time, dodged the worst of the weather, got some decent hikes in and saw some previously unexplored (for us) corners of one of our fave holiday destinations. Not much talking to camera in t...
Post-Camp Kit Review
Переглядів 208 місяців тому
Hello again, Here is a post-camp kit review, relating to my last video where my mate Ed and I hiked 22 miles and had a woodland camp half-way. I had a few ideas for kit improvements and additions after that adventure, so thought it might be interesting to share those with you all. The one thing I forgot to mention was the need for an inflatable pillow. I had a few in the past, with a variety of...
Walk & Woodland Camp

Hello, Here is a video of a recent adventure with my mate Ed. We hiked for 11 miles, fully laden with big packs. Then set up camp in one of our regular spots. As it was St Patricks' Day ( well done Ireland in the Six Nations), I brought along a couple of cans of the black stuff. Also I brought the first taster of my 2022 Sloe Gin, you can see our reaction and thoughts in the video. The evening ...

Hello There, I am outdoors again. I have been out and about, just not on video for a while. Had a nice circular walk around the Shire, probably did around 12 KM in total. It was very wet and muddy underfoot, but I had a good time and enjoyed the fresh air and challenges of outdoor filming. Had another nice Norwegian ration pack for lunch, even bagged a few treasures in the local charity shops o...
My Favourite Rucksacks

Hello again, Here is a look at my favourite Rucksacks, well the ones I use the most anyway. I tried to edit this down to a watchable length, but 29 mins was as good as I could do to get all the bags in. This is a show and tell type video, not a review. Also, as always, not sponsored by anyone. These are all my own bags, some I have had for 15 years or more. I hope you enjoy this video, let me k...
Save Money on Outdoor Gear
Переглядів 7499 місяців тому
Hello again, Another week, another video! Amazing right? Hopefully this one will be helpful and inspiring for those of you, like me, who want to save money on your outdoor gear. Let's face it, nothing is getting cheaper these days, so it is up to us to find ways to shave a few, and sometimes lots, of credits of our purchases. I have included a few examples, but to be honest I could do a whole s...
Unboxing Wargame Miniatures

Hello there, A slightly different video today. Thought I would include a few more of my hobbies and interests on the channel to broaden the content. Also it gives me an excuse to put a few of my homemade tunes in the background. I have played all sorts of tabletop games over the years, and part of that hobby is miniature wargaming. I can not only enjoy the games, but also flex my creative urges...
The Quest for The Arch Drude
Переглядів 3910 місяців тому
Hello everyone, and Happy 2024. It has been a while. But my lack of motivation and enthusiasm has been re-ignited by acquiring a very inspirational book. The Modern Antiquarian by Julian Cope is a magnificent piece of work that took The Arch Drude eight years of travelling around the UK, whilst performing, to put together. This book has been out of print for 25 years, so finding a copy is not t...

Hello there, Been a while. Thought I would upload this highlight video of a recent family weekend in Norfolk. We stayed in Kings Lynn and used that as our base for three days of exploring. The stock car racing at Adrian Flux Arena was loads of fun, never been before. Great family friendly place. I wish the video gave you the full experience, sights, sounds and smells (cheesy chips were great to...
Bikepacking Test Ride
Переглядів 196Рік тому
Hello there, Hope you are doing well. It is nearing the end of July here in the UK, and today was a wet one to start with. But I still managed to get out on my old mtb for a Bikepacking Test Ride. Somehow managed to do 24 miles! Got several bits of kit to test out, and they got a thorough challenge today, at least as far as waterproofing goes anyway. I am hoping to get in a few all day, overnig...

Hello there, Still playing around with GarageBand, who are not a sponsor, and thought you might like to hear this little 80s/90s electro number. I am planning to incorporate hardware synths and stuff into some proper tunes soon, so hopefully I'll sooth your ears with some random melodies in the near future. You can see a couple of bits of gear I have recently acquired in the video. The video wa...

What pouch was that you used mate the tan one
@@outdoorviking9943 hi mate, it is the Limitless Equipment EDC XL. Costs about £25 from amazon or limitless website. I still use it for most hikes and bike trips and family adventures. Handy pouch to have.
@@blister4walken you have a link mate can’t find it
@@outdoorviking9943 hello again. If you type limitless equipment uk into google it should be first site. They still have this pouch on there.
A useful vid. Thanks. Is the bag still working well for you?
@@JD-hp8qn cheers. The bag is still good, but has found a new use as a laptop + accesories bag. I have a more recent shoulder bag for outdoor duties. Thanks for watching.
Nice video of an adventure with no annoying music. I'd of eaten the mug shot as it's dried but then I ignore use by dates 🙂
I was tempted, but it was a little discoloured too. Don't make them like they used to. Plus, my constitution is not what it was. I had plenty of snacks. I usually put some music over videos where the original sound is rubbish/wind noise etc. Thanks for watching.
I really need to get my bike out and start exploring the routes around here. Great video mate 👍
Cheers mate. There are plenty of off-road bridleways etc. But still some underwater. Hoping to do a proper multi-day ride soon.
Some awesome views and scenery mate, glad you managed to get some good weather 👍
Cheers mate. We were lucky with the weather. Missing the hills already.
Here is a link to Ed's page, he is the one who made the leather sheath for my laplander saw. www.youtube.com/@ECWoodlandCrafts
Some great kit there mate. I'm looking forward to seeing what you bring on our next adventure 👍
More light, and a tripod for starters.
What happened to the Vango Chinook?
That gets used for basecamp type trips, too bulky for hiking. Also the quickhiker 2 is just right for me plus gear. The Chinook is more of a luxury option.
Great video mate, really showed the laughs we had and less of the pain🤣 I'll get my video out soon 👍
Cheers mate. It was a good laugh. My back was aching a bit after, not helped by a heavy week at work. Look forward to your vid.
The flooded ground and wet weather is one of the reasons I've not been filming recently. Wrecked my boots on a walk the other day, so not much fun. Good finds in the charity shop 👍
Great video!
Cheers. Trying to keep up the uploads, got lots of ideas that need to be made real.😀
30 mins of Rob talking about bags 😁 Some nice ones in there but there's a patch missing 😉
Ha ha. Yes. I did attach your patch to a jacket, which i havent used much. So it will get sewn on something i do use. Cheers m8.
A pint if tea . . Why not
Takes a while to drink. 😀
The best way to save money is to not buy gear. Seriously, a lot of us keeps buying replacements chasing the "best". Buy something with the idea that you are gong to make due with it for the next 10 years. You will decide longer, and buy once. The case could be for a speaker with a section for either connector cord or charging cord. Less chance it was for a camera lens with a filter compartment. What is the story on the candy bar? We have English stores here, I may pick one up.
Yes. I thought possibly speaker or lense. The Breakaway bar is one of many that are being discontinued here in UK. I agree with buying gear that lasts, i could do another video on my most used, longest used bits and pieces. Thanks for watching 😀
You've always been lucky with your charity shop finds. Good work on the bush shirt, I look forward to seeing it finished.
Cheers mate. Just needs a bit of finishing off and a dye of some kind. Charity shops have been good to me over the years. Takes a lot of patience though. Not every search reveals treasure.
Surprised you put the horsemen on their final bases before refurbishing their paintwork. Difficult to get your paint brush between two based horsemen.
Lovely minis, no doubt!
Cheers. They need a bit of work to look battle-ready.
Surprised you put the horsemen on their final bases before refurbishing their paintwork. Absolute pig trying to get your paint brush between two based horsemen.
Hey man, I'm planning on going to a mall with my mom to get my first box of wargaming miniatures, I live in the Philippines, what set would you recommend for beginners?
Are you going to SM? Not a lot of choice there, unless you like Gundam 😀. Do you have any gaming stores nearby?
Well there's one in Makati, mind you I live in Mandaluyong, were going to go to GamingLibraly Greenbelt@@blister4walken
Great little video mate. I'd love to join you on some exploring hikes 👍
Yes. We need to get out n about. Need to air my tents out too. Been a while.
@@blister4walken I've got a new lightweight tent to try 🙂
Hope you like the video. Here is a link to where i bought the book. Great selection of rare and interesting tomes. You can see the books in person by appointment. Marino is a friendly chap, who will help you find your perfect literary treasure. www.84cxrarebooks.com/
Little bit windy out 😉
try better carbon wheels)) they are stong and fast))
I am sure you are right. But they would cost more than this bike is worth. The old wheels are still good. I am going to replace a few tired old bits, like the chain, brake pads etc. Cheers for watching 😀
Nice video. I've been wanting to kit my bike out for bike packing for a while now. You've definitely got the luck when it comes to charadee shop finds.
Sure have. Although the finds are few and far between. Worth waiting for the good stuff. Cheers mate. Lets have a camp soon.
Nice little video of your trip and all the food you ate 😉
Cheers mate. There was so much more food i didn't show. I think i'm still digesting some of it.😀
Sounds like a good way to make music for your future hiking videos 👍
Yep. That's the plan.
Someone's getting fkd up in the near future 🙂
Looking forward to trying that when it's ready 😀
Me too mate. Patience.
Nice walk that. We should do the Cambridge to Ely river walk at some point.
Yep. I did that before. Not too bad, if the weathers' good.
Well presented nice bag nice vid thanks
Cheers good vid.
Thanks mate. The bag went on a trip to Cornwall recently. Still good. 😀
Seeing the river reminds me that I need to get out on my canoe again 🙂
Nice little video mate. I miss the area around Somersham. Let's meet up for a wander soon 🙂
Hello , I really appreciate your videos and subscribed to you :)) I hope that you will persist with posting videos ! I usually create videos about traveling in London :)))
Cheers mate. Its been hard to get videos done recently. But i'm on a roll now after the drum n bass bike ride. Got several vids and trips up soon. Your channel looks good. Ill sub and have a look later. 😀
Where' we riding off to?? Tesco's
No. But several people made trips to the Offy during the after ride party 😀
Tracks featured ( as i can identify them ). KASRA - GUILTY ( ft Catching Cairo ) playing at the start outside King's College.
Well I hope you enjoy the video. As expected, as I was uploading, the music bots picked out several tunes. So my only option was to allow ads for this video, which i am happy to do. The original producers of the tracks deserve payment, even the small amount my channel will send there way. Anyhow, if you want a full tracklist and the official video, as I mentioned in the description, head over to Dom's channel where the video of the Cambridge ride should be up soon. Cheers.
Great music for the cows mate, I recognised the area. I walked to 9 acre woods along the route you took to the bus way earlier this year and did my brew and chat video there 🙂
But you weren't chased by the herd...😀
what a nice area - LOVED the music for the cow stand off. I do a bit of hiking in Australian and have faced down something similar. They are very intimidating on foot. Emus are a bit scary too hahaha
Thanks. If i had filmed the chase from the Bulls i would have needed to bleep out a lot of colourful language. It is a great part of the country to explore. I'll finish this route soon. Thanks for watching.
A bit muddy, eh? But I would like to hike in new places, no matter the weather.
Agreed. No such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. 😀
Nice little cook set there mate. You'll need to move house if you keep buying new kit 😉
Cheers mate. Still room for more bits n bobs 😀
I think the woodpecker is stalking you mate, taking over from the squirrel 😂 let's get out for an adventure soon 🙂
Finally got around to watching this mate. Loved your reaction to the first taste. I have to try this. Do I detect a slight slur in your voice as you go on? 😂
Ha ha. Yep. I was a little generous in my measurements. Proper nice though.
Looking forward to the next one 🙂
Nice 👍👍just subbed. Atb dai
Cheers mate. Merry xmas 😀
@@blister4walken merry Christmas 👍
Howdy pardner! My suggestion would be Options Mint Hot Chocolate or Mulled Wine considering tis' the season an all! If you could plug our channel we'd really appreciate it. We also appreciate when warm fluids are consumed! Can I get a hell yeah?! 😃 ua-cam.com/video/4fng5s4DJww/v-deo.html
Cool videos. Well done, I've also released a new video about car restoration. Please be sure to look and rate and if you like the channel you can subscribe:)
I'm glad you like my winter warmer recipe It's been my go to night cap 😁 and thankyou for the shout out matey I look forward to the next instalment in the series Nice ebay find too 👍
Heya there I have also recently acquired this same Kaffenback frameset - mind me asking what front rack you have there? Haven't managed to find suitable one which mounts without a fork crown eyelet which the fork on this kaffenback seems to lack. Cheers!
Hello. I'll check. Can't remember what it was. It's not on there now. I got an ortlieb bar bag and some Avenir lowrider front racks. I must use this bike more next year 😀
@@blister4walken Okay thanks mate
Quality winter warmer matey what a find on ebay Galaxy hot chocolate Irish Meadows and kopparberg cherry rum. Just subscribed looking forward to the next part in the series
Cheers. Next episode on the way soon 😀
Nice ebay haul mate, you're always finding good deals 🙂
I have a nose for a bargain. It's my superpower 😀
Nice video mate, interesting combination. Who are you nominating to do it next? 🙂
Cheers mate. Not planning to nominate anyone at the moment. Maybe after lockdown, when people can do a bit more. 😀
