the website of hornsby beekeeping is so terrible. The search function doesn't work well shows unrelated products to your search
3 stooges, Moe,Curly, Larry
Huey, Luey, Duey
I think they got interrupted by life, it has all the hallmarks. They just didn't ever make it back to put frames in.
newly emerged bees are so cute, ive never seen them before!! i mean they look like the others but the difference in colour just adds something to them so glad you are back
5:55 Please define 'it'. I still don't know what this is talking about
Queen cell
Names: for the group, The Triplets; Triumphant Ones; Reclaimed Territory; Reconstruction Zone; the New Day Hive; Lost No More; The Thriving Three; Found Again [I have no idea what a hive name should be like, so please forgive if I’m way off base.] Names for the hives: Daystar 1, Daystar 2, Daystar 3 Sunlight, Moonlight, Starlight Bee (or Bees) Happy, Bee Healthy, Bee Just Fine
YOUR NOT VERY SMART

Think in that case I would provide a new box for each hive with new frames and try to alternate frames and over about 3 months replace the old hardware with new. some of that bur honeycomb would be good chunks for jars. Also if I found the queen I would restrict her to the new box long enough for that brood to hatch out and so disposal of the old comb would be easier (You can always feed the honey back after crushing and separating the wax)
Absolutely love ur dedicated work & those close ups are fabulous 😊 naming these babies; considering bee hives are hard working girls (mostly) & their Queens are imperative to keeping them functional & productive, maybe u should name them Victoria, Elizabeth & Catherine, they were all famous Queens 🐝🐝🐝 ❤
Great suggestion.
Amazing, those hives looked in bad condition at first sight & yet they were all pretty good 🐝 loved seeing ur rescued hives & those hard working girls 🩷

What happens when you put the frame back in the box. Don't some bees get squished?
Not normally but sometimes.
sad to see, but very pleased your showing all sides of beekeeping
The things we do with boxes and frames is for our convenience as beekeepers
So cool
I had a 31-year-old Arabian stallion that just died the morning of March the 12th this year, he had been with me for 30 years and I miss him very much, if you would consider naming one of the hives after him I would appreciate, his name is Ramsay
Out of the three hives, that one was the weakest. You did give them every chance.
I should have combined them. I went down yesterday to do just that.
That was that one you thought might have got robbed out and would be better in a nuc. I recognize the packing you put in there to make it like a nuc. Is that also the one that looked like it was trying to supersede? It could be that queen was at her end if that was them. We learn the most in post mortem. But those boxes were in really bad shape, I think that was the one full of moldy comb you took out. They just had everything against them, and demonstrates for us the importance of keeping up the maintenance on the woodware. You also dated these boxes as back to the 1970's from the flaps on them, you gave them new ones, but these have some providence that would be interesting to learn. I think the big lesson here is that beekeepers are mortal, too and we should plan for a place for our hives for when we pass on and leave instructions for our survivors. It would be great if these colonies go back continuously to the 70's but also these boxes could have just been salvage a few times over as used equipment. Their last owner does seem to have been a new beek, and the decisions to use foundationless shows us a person that did some research, also those slatted bottom boards that the person was trying to give them the best home. The old old old boxes are really enigmatic, a mismatch, since the boxes themselves as new are the cheapest part of the hobby! There's a story in these bees and we'll probably never know. This has been an interesting adventure, so glad the other two are looking like they will pull through. This box was just beat even before you brought them home. Nothing lives forever on this side. I'm sure those girls begged their way into the other hives and served well. ~Peace
I'm wondering if that last hive might have had a new queen and she's just started laying.
naw, rip.
These videos are inspirational but really hard to watch for me. I'm fascinated by bees and the science of it all. But I've got medical conditions that have robbed me of my strength and my heat tolerance. If I had hives, they would probably look pretty much like these because I wouldn't be able to maintain them. At least I can live vicariously through beekeepers like you. Keep up the good work.
Spray the ants or put ant bait down,I do this all year round and haven't lost a hive in 10 years,??😊
I’ve got Borax traps near every stand. The ants don’t kill the bees
You did your best
😢
Is that sugar water in the clear ziplock bags ?
Yep
Aussies Big 3 😊
That first hive I would have put the foundation frame at spot #7 and pushed the nectar to #8. Last hive is a good candidate in my yard for putting over a double screen board over a stronger hive... Good attempt at brood nest but not enough bees to keep warm..
Wow
Wow, the tutorial at 2:15 is so detailed and easy to understand! I love how you explained it. I’ll definitely apply it to my farm!
I've watched a few of your videos. You look at a brood frame that I would consider awful and call it great brood. What am I missing?
Positivity and previous seasons.
Beautiful Queen 🤴👍🐝🍯
Thanks Trev
Your uncapped pupae in the last hive are a sign of trouble. The bees will cap larvae. We shouldn't see them in the pupae stage since they don't emerge again until they're fully developed. Also, note how the uncapped brood were in groups, and to a degree, in a line. That's a sign of hive beetle larvae tunneling under the pupae. The adult bees know something is wrong so they uncap the pupae early. I like your nuc idea. That will give them less space to guard against the beetles. Very interesting to watch! Keep up the good work!
Треба більше охолоджувати і ьримати температуру воску 68*-70* градусів. Тоді гврно щнімати лист.
The rat pack…. Franko, Sammo and Deanno

Octron Boron & Cetron
I really hope the middle hive pulls through! As for name, how about naming them after the Bee Gees cause they're stayin' alive. Individually could name them Barry, Maurice and Robin after the members
That’s gold.
Aging myself but lately I have been thinking about American TV Newhart where there was Larry, my brother Daryl and my other brother Darryl. Lol
Good job and super interesting story of the saved hives, I'll be looking forward to many future updates. I'm think as these have a story already may continue for many chapters yet. Maybe (Goldilocks and the 3 Bees B1,B2,B3). Keep up the good work and i enjoy your video updates
How about names of formerly endangered animals that survived and were removed from that list. Stella - for the steller sea lion Rosa - for the Santa Rosa island fox Robin - for robbin’s cinquefoil Fen - for the fen orchid Blue - for the blue whale Scarlett - for the scarlet-chested parakeet Daisy - for the maguire daisy
Queen spotted 30:59 to 31:12 And reduce entrance of the middle one That'll reduce the chance of robbing And great work to saving the bees❤❤
Good idea.
Great Job Giving them a new home and help Your a Great Bee Keeper these are your babies you should name them
Thanks. Appreciate the support
The 3 Stooges
Maybe seen queen at 35:36 top left bee just below that
Well spotted!
Faith, Hope, and Charity (after the three Gloster fighters that protected Malta during WW2)
The 1st: Xanadu 2nd: Brooderiffic 3rd: Laid Lady
How about, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they survived the fire. 😊
Or simply… Rach, Shack and Benny 😉
Love your work, as always. Still feeding bee's here in Central Victoria.
Thanks. Goodluck with your season
@@aussiebeekeeping hopefully we both have a good season. The last one was a shocker.
@@grumblesmudie3141 I agree
