I'd not heard this before, and I'm amazed at the mainstream lyrics by which I mean they're not the usual obscure poetry one expects from Sylvian (for which I love him). It's a beautiful song and I'm surprised it never got much of a hearing elsewhere. I presume it was never released as a single because had it been, it might have made a notable impact on the charts. Still, there you go. Funny old world.

That That may not be anywhere as good as Sylvian when it comes to lyricism and poetry but i find a lot of their songs to be quite enjoyable, but in a more commercial pop sense if you will.

Such a viciously dark affair until that piano drop and suddenly I have a lump in my throat and nearly reduced to tears! Immortal and human at the same time! 1000% pressure ;) Dom got the Big Beat and more ;)

Davian wrote two songs with the title "world citizen"? huh...
99Nars The other "World Citizen" was subtitled "(I won't be disappointed)". They were collaborative works with the great Ryuichi Sakamoto. Long and short versions of each song were released by Warner Music Japan on an EP of the same title in 2003 and again in 2004, with an added remix by Ryoji Ikeda, on Sylvian's samadhisound label.

It is indeed Nick Nick Ceroli playing drums, man he was great! He also played drums on the Merv Griffin Show Band. The Alto solo here is Lanny Morgan. Yes, Bob was an incredibly nice man...he was very kind to me...he's sorely missed!

Sylvian & Sakamoto = musical genius + World Citizen makes a genuine and truthful statement. Something echoed by the teachings of Jesus and John Lennon, among many others. Anyone that doesn't like it shouldn't listen with their ears, brain or heart. BUT everyone is entitled their opinion...although we should also remember ...it's a song not a political treatise or call to revolution. The comments have been random and amusing.
