Great hunt in a beautiful creek, love finding tokens! Congrats my friend!
It's a tool .
Gotta watch out for those critters slithering around. Enjoyed the episode buddy.
Loved this episode. Beautiful scenery and loved the bread token. Wonder if it was advertising or used in the Depression? Sorry about the bees or yellowjackets-- those are nasty. I stepped on a yellowjacket when I was barefoot and little. Stung like the dickens! Thanks much and be careful.❤
Those are a nuisance no matter what you're doing. Can't stand a bee and they're worse this year than I've ever seen in WV. They say it's because of how dry it's been but I don't know if I believe that. My personal opinion is it's because of the mild winter's we have now. It doesn't freeze hard long enough to kill them out. A person isn't supposed to see a bee in the middle of January in our neck of the woods.
It can be a broken spear tip
I can't wait to see what history you guys have found on my property, I can't wait to meet you guys
Hopefully someday we can get out that way! Gotta wait til we get some vacation time from work possibly! Thank you for watching!
@@bluecreekdetectors it's all good when ever your guys have the time 👍
Another great video and great finds!
Thanks TreasureJess!
🎉awesome
Another interesting video. A multiple silver day along with cool relics. Those Green River tokens are circa 1930s, those are cool to find.
Thanks Steve! How many have you found of those tokens so far?
That’s awesome! Capt John Young’s wife is my 6th great grandaunt :)
Wow! That is cool history to know about. Well, now you know where she is buried if you didnt know before. That cemetery is easily accessible. Her parents are there beside John.
Дуже цікаво , дякую 👍
І дуже дякую!
Классные находки !
Спасибо большое!
Очень классное видео ❤
Thank you very much!
Isaac and Chad you guys are putting out such great content! Great scenery, awesome history and epic finds! Love those MERCS!!!! We love digging tokens and old keys too! Keep up the great work guys!
Thanks MMMD! Always great to hear from you. Mercs are some of the coolest looking coin eras for sure. I'm always happy to see them too and they sound so clean as well. Thanks for the visit y'all!
I was actually gonna comment anyhow, even before Chad had suggested it. Your all's vid's are really getting a LOT smoother, there is a fluidity there I think. I lost an old closed reel to a monster fish at the mouth of Blue Creek when I was about 15 (62 now) Darn thing snatched the pole right out of the pole holder, Ha! Keep up the good work.....
Thank you much! I have put a lot of time into trying to make the smoother and interesting for the viewers. That can be difficult sometimes. I have a new computer now so hopefully a new change will help. There have been some monster fish caught in the rivers lately. I think Gov Justice said there have been 6 state records just this year. Have you ever read Tale of the Elk by WER Byrne? It is about fishing the Elk in the early 1900s. I couldn't put it down when I read it.
@@bluecreekdetectors I have not. I can only imagine how Beautiful it was then, I can almost hear the steam train horn blowin down the holler.......
Very nice finds- I believe the address on the tavern token 104 Capitol St is where the old Frankenburger building now stands. Thanks for sharing !
Very cool! We found a picture of the time of Capitol Street during that time but couldn't see any sign of the saloon. I may have to peruse the MyWVHome site and look more. That is such a cool piece of Charleston history. I am unaware if any others exist. Thanks for the visit!
Cool finds! I've never missed an episode. My favorite , among many, was your finding arrowheads but love the treasures you've found. I've been in the Elk River just wading, but so many of my past ancestors who lived in the area no doubt fished in it. One of my ancestors got married near Blue Creek and she and her husband rode a flatboat on the Elk to Charleston. I have no idea why there were kids on the boat but there were as the story goes. Keep up the great work guys!
We are always glad to see you here! We really appreciate you taking the time to watch our videos. Chad has found more arrowheads lately too. Isaac tried with minimal success.
Interesting story about your ancestors. I know the casino on pleasant island had a port where one have a boiler that exploded where it still lies today. I'm going to try and investigate this fall/winter.
@@bluecreekdetectors I wouldn't miss an episode!
@@bluecreekdetectors I'd be so interested in seeing that for sure.
Blue creek detectors did you guys actually send me your email address?
We did we apologize for the late reply, thank you!
@@bluecreekdetectors its okay👍 I was just wanting to make sure that I wasn't getting scammed or something if that matter
Great finds won't be long til we can hit the woods ps I'd never found a walker nut found 2 in the last two weeks thamks from WNC
Hey steve, are you okay from the storm??? If you need anything let us know I will post something to try and help. Walkers are rare for sure. What were the dates on yours? My first one was wore blank.
Great finds today. Jealous of the Mercury dimes you always find.
Chad is the master of mercury for sure. They sound so good on the detector it is hard to believe it is what it is.
Dang one slip and you're rolling to the river! See you found some gold but shame that gold buzzes. Awesome place and finds guys, never would've dreamed Chad would find that Mason badge, way to go! God Bless you all! (Glen). WV.
It is indeed a steep hill but loaded with good signals. Not much garbage at all surprisingly. The more I researched that badge, the Jr Mechanics weren't affiliated with the masons, or were they? It was a strange secret society with minimal information available.
My great grandfather John Derrick is buried in that cemetery. His family settled Derricks Creek near Sissonville. He lived in South Charleston but his ex wife, my great grandmother and his son, my grandfather, lived in Sylvia, now called Reamer. I’m still yet to find out why he was buried in Young’s Bottom. My great grandmother was a Rucker.
There is a large cemetery in Reamer, not sure how old it is. (That is allegedly where the first sighting of ghe monthman by grave diggers was) We were surprised at how large the Sand Run cemetery was. There is a lot there but needs some maintenance I think. It may have just been seen as a prestigious place.
Yeah my great grandmother is buried in the Reamer cemetery on the hill behind the church. Not sure where exactly as there is no grave marker. My dad was young when she passed but said he remembers climbing the hill when they buried her.
It does look worked. Cool find!
That sure looks like a knapped spear head to me. The finer details probably got smoothed over in the river over the years.
That good sir is a Megalodon tooth . I know this because I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night
Man that is hard to say, it looks worked and especially by how it thins out on that edge.
I agree. What a find. It does look like it's been chiseled.
Cool tiny sand dollar at the end.
Search up John Swifts silver mine. People have been looking for it for years in Kentucky. It's definitely not a mine but it's supposed to be a big cache of gold and silver.
Very interesting. I made note of it in my notebook so next time I am at the state archives I will look for what I can! I love stories like that.
Hey guy's good seeing you and the River Rat again! Something how that IHP looks like it did the day it was dropped. That thimble with Sheriff on it, was passed around to ladies during election time! At 17:40, it looks to be a trigger guard, for a musket rifle. We cleaned a lot of veterans tombstones and reset some here. A group of us got together. A good thing for cemeteries like that, good thing to get started all around! Awesome video as always. God Bless All! (Glen). WV. Also God Bless you River Rat, for what you are trying to do for the Miller family!
Hey Glen! Thanks for the info. We love those advertisement thimble. Chad has found a few of them now. Yeah, we may just go up there ourselves and fix it. One of the most important founders of the Kanawha valley deserves it. Glad to see you on here again! How have you been?
Cool informative video. Everyone found some neat finds. I was fortunate to find the owner of one of my good luck tokens like the Elk River Muskrat found in the video.
Thanks Steve! I think we found the guy on Facebook and will be in contact.
Such a great episode! My favorite yet! The scenery, the history, the music, the finds, the theatrics, and the amazing editing! Love that thimble, the good luck token, keys, Indian, and EVERYONE LOVES A MERC!!!!!! Awesome video guys, i can tell a lot of work went into making this. Keep up the great work and good luck on your next adventure guys!
Thanks MMMD! I haven't been doing my editing lately honestly due to frustration with my poor old computer. It is from 2016 and can barely process 4k video 😂 so it takes me excessive amount of time to edit properly. Ordering a new computer soon I hope will expedite and motivate it. Thank you for stopping by! Good luck to you as well!
Those jack in the pulpit are getting harder to find. Lots of nice things today.
Are they going extinct? I know some places they are thriving in South Charleston
@@bluecreekdetectorsI've never seen any in the wild but would love to.
@@bluecreekdetectors I think in some places they have been harder tho find then before
Wasnt that circus down at Reamer close to the old S&T Pipeline buildings?
17:35 is a gas valve handle. Have a pic of one in use, but see no way to post the pic. Used as a throttle valve on the old time oil rigs
Thank you for the ID! What would the date range do you think?
What interesting finds! The little red car looks like it dates from the 1930s. I’m certain I used to work for a lady who grew up here. It’s a beautiful property and I appreciate you sharing this. Thank you!
Thank you! It is a beautiful property and the owners are great and very respectable people. We have some more documentary type videos planned soon. I'm getting a new laptop soon so I can edit more effectively and produce more material. The Muskrat and I have a big Elk River Documentary to do, inspired by Tale of the Elk.
Beautiful location with a fascinating history. I really appreciate folks like Earl who are passionate about the history of their local area. You all had some great finds, too. Excellent video as always, gentleman. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Doc! We appreciate Earl too. He and I have a scripted and in depth documentary about the Elk River planned inspired by the book "Tale of the Elk" by WER Byrne. I hope to make it as interesting and engaging as possible. Always good to see you here!
@@bluecreekdetectors The documentary sounds. That place definitely has a story worth sharing.
Beautiful scenery and location. The IHP was in amazing condition! Loved the thimble and the good luck token, so cool! Interesting info about the yellowjackets, good to know! Amazing video, editing and finds. So happy to see a video from you again!
Hornets can't fly at night either. I've been stung by both but yellow jackets are awful.
Thank you! 🇨🇦 we were surprised about that IHP too. 124 long years. Do you have yellow jackets up north?? We have had an extreme drought here and they have been dangerously swarming everything. I have been having some computer woes; my poor 2016 computer has increasing issues processing 4k video editing software. New comp to come soon enough... I hope. Good luck on your next hunt! !
@@bluecreekdetectors We do have them up here and I actually got chased out of an area I was detecting by one last week, They are aggressive! Sorry to hear about your computer, hopefully you will get your new one soon. Good luck on you next hunt too!
Дуже цікаво 💛🩵 дякую
І дякую за комментар!
Очень интересное видео 👍 спасибо
Спасибо большое!
Good job ❤
Thank ye! 🇺🇸
Your finds so far are amazing!❤ Did you know jellow jackets can't fly at night? IDK if you can spray where they live but if you can, it works.BTW the scenery is beautiful. ** My 3rd gr grandfather lived in Blue Creek-- his middle name was Young.
Thanks Sherry! We know they don't fly at night, we may need to do some good classic night digs like we used to 😁 it is very beautiful scenery, I agree. Hopefully some more new episodes soon if I can get my poor computer to work.
@@bluecreekdetectors You're so welcome. I never miss your videos and love your finding arrowheads! Keep up the great work. Was sure you knew about yellowjackets but wasn't 100%. You guys put so much work into each video and it's wonderful! Thank you. BTW The scenery is beautiful!❤
What a find!!!❤
Love it!
You guys were missed!! Looks like fossils.
Good eye!! I’ve never found one but have looked while kayaking. Congrats!
You can donate that to a museum i think
My decision to buy me a Nokta Legend after having using a White's Spectrum XLT for 25 years has left me frustrated!!
That one was definitely used during a hunting trip
Dang, good thing you investigated further
