Songbook Academy was created by Michael Feinstein and the Great American Songbook Foundation to celebrate music written between 1920-1960. Each summer, 40 singers from around the country are selected to spend an intensive week with Songbook Academy, learning about this music.
On the closing night of Songbook Academy, group numbers are performed in full groups with Michael Feinstein and small groups led by our mentors. Eight performers were selected to perform their solo pieces, and I was one of them.
