Triumph Tiger 1050. Whistle stop tour of the South Coast. South coast 500
I love camping and motorbikes, so a motorcycle camping holiday is exactly what I needed, And dry weather of course. But dry weather wasn’t to be as I hit heavy drizzle on day three riding my tiger 1050 down the west coast. And back up the east coast. Cutting my holiday short in fear of more rain. The roads and scenery were amazing! Just ruined by the British weather..

Apologies for the low quality, this was some years ago. But he’s some footage of Betty (The boat) at the start of the lads boating journey!

Back in the water at.last! Dave wasn’t joking when he told us he’s no interest in kayaking but the promise of a present was too good to ignore… so after much debate, Dave eventually gave in. Here’s how his first kayaking experience went.

Starting from my home town in Barnstaple, head up the A377 through bishops tawton, on to eggesford, cross the train tracks and up to winkleigh, heading home through beaford, Torrington, bideford. From here we take the tarka trail to Barnstaple. Don’t panic! We will get back on the water soon as possible!
Checking out Chris’s mini!

As we wait out the darkest days of winter we go check out Chris’s incredible mini. 90% complete we’re on track for a fantastic summer. Also featured in this video is a comprehensive step by step tutorial on fitting isofix points to an 2003 Audi A4 estate.. watch, learn, enjoy.
3/4 DJI mavic pro practice session. Ilfracombe
Переглядів 12011 місяців тому
Back in the summer of 2023 the wind eventually died down so I was able to get some practice in. Not wanting to waste the footage I made a mini edit. This was one of my braver flights. I messed up a bit on the light balance a few times but overall pleased with the results. In the video you are watching Ilfracombe harbour and Damien hirst’s Verity. 3/4 DJI mavic pro practice flights.

The old creamery was the town’s main employer until milk quotas were introduced. The building is now under demolition. There was some amazing art done by renowned graffiti artists. Hopefully someone get some decent pics! So here’s 2 of 4 of Dave’s drone practice flights

as the drone heads towards appledore you can just about make out Lundy island, home of the puffins. As a complete novice wanting to sharpen my flying skills, this is what I do between trying to film boats 👍

Xcape 4.0 vs excel volante 330 vs freesun 270. Things got slightly out of hand soon as we launched. Sam’s endless throttle jam ups, and Dave endlessly slowing progress down, add some choppy sea and this is what you get..

Incredibly dangerous in those boats !!!
Fairly... good thing 2 out of 3 of us can swim!
It's criminal that these chaps only have 300 subs, they are hilarious and very natural, definitely like a Top Gear on the water!
Thanks very much. Im sure if we were able to get videos out more often it would pick up, but we all work full time, we all have kids, its all a bit of a challenge to get out. Doesn't bother us though, we do it for the fun!
How do you lot ever get anything done..??.. every single video you make, one of you is late..
😂😂 as a general rule, whoever is last is late. Even if they're on time. That being said, we usually give chris a meet up time at least half an hour before we actually plan on meeting because he's always late.
you need to try Axmouth harbour entrance ex24 6qb if you think thats bad
Oh bless your little cottons thinking anywhere on the south coast is even in the same league as the bristol channel... where we have the third biggest tidal range in the world...
That was not a bad day and a Axmouth is not a patch on bideford bar these guys did it at high tide on a good day and made a big thing of it. Iapreciate that all bars are dangerous and yes they should go to your bar a on a bad day 😂.
Yes, it was indeed a good day at high tide. Would be a bit stupid to try it otherwise with the equipment we have... but never say never!
Here's a little bit of camping advice. If traveling by car bring a pillow from your house... You don't to buy things for camping that already exist in your house... Otherwise great video!
Awesome Minx !!
Great video Minx. Love the content ❤❤❤
Wow. It’s like I saw you barer then ever before 👍🏼 but Doritos and wine….. oh dear….. 😳. 🤣😂
lol I love Doritos and wine time
Great vid"mate" good to see you in a different way,and it is all about actually riding the bike, the scenery is just an extra and the bike sounded fantastic.Glad to see you finally bought that ice cream😂😉 MIKE FROM OZ.
Lol thank you Mike
I am so happy for you. I wish you success in your personal life
Should have just come boating instead...😉
What hp is your outbound?
Its a 1989 15hp johnson seahorse
@@DevonFloaters nice it bloody shifts for a 15hp
That it does! Much quicker with just 1 person though!
Is the Johnson a 2stroke ?
It is indeed
I’m very local to you bideford way near Instow just got my first small boat like yours and looking for new mates to go out with on it if you’re up for it
I'm sure the boys wouldnt mind you joining for a boating. Send one of them a DM
@@DevonFloaters how can I contact you guys haven't got them on social media what are there names ??
Have a look on Instagram, Sam and Dave are both tagged in most of our posts on there
Is that an airdeck in the volante?
It is indeed
Nice one boys.
I got one ov them rubber boats what size outboards is on them great fun boys😊
Sam has an excel volante 330 (3.3m) with a 15hp 2 stroke, and Dave has a freesun 270 (2.7m) with a 6hp four stroke. We also have Chris who has an xcape 4.0 (4m) with a 6hp four stroke.
15hp... you definitely got the power to weight ratio. Love those old Johnsons.
Yes, he's very proud of his massive johnson...
Go on lad👍👊
Nice video. Shame you bought a transit. I thought you would have learned your lesson with the galaxy 😂
Still a million times better than a t4...
@DevonFloaters I wouldn't have either. But ford's are not great, everyone in the trade avoids them for good reasons lol. Yours will be fine though I'm sure 🤣
😂😂when he’s allowed out😂😂
So many boatings have been cancelled because he's not allowed. The joys of parenthood...
@@DevonFloaters indeed! plus the wife works night shift over the weekend and also needs to sleep so when he wants to have a play date with his friends it’s also a possibility he may not be.. what you call “allowed”! 🤣🤣🤣 did tickle me a little though 😂
Ridiculous excuse. 8 hours work, 8 hours sleep, 8 hours left in the day. Tide and weather rule out the majority of weekends entirely, so one weekend day out of the 8 a month to go have a 'play date' is hardly a sacrifice. Especially when time with friends has been proven to help reduce stress, anxiety and make general improvements to both mental and physical health. In psychological circles it's a known amd growing problem for men that they are spending less time with their friends than ever. iaap-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/aphw.12475
@@DevonFloaters actually the wife encourages him to go have “play dates” with many of his friends! how or who with is completely up to him. ✌️
Can’t wait to watch this on the big screen!
It's the 'weeee!' From dan during the ring of death that gets me. And just how broken he is by the end...
😂😂😂😂 need to buck your ideas up Dave 😂😂😂😂
Fun video Supprised I’ve not came across you guys before. Brilliant 🤩 Subscribed
It's always dave... We don’t post often enough for the algorythm to recommend us much. But you've found us now! Welcome!
No room for Dave 😂 he’s not getting in mine 😮 what a 🔔 end of a mate he is😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fits with a push funny guys 😂😂😂
It's hard to be sympathetic when it's always dave. Every. Damn. Time. But we do save him when necessary, like here... ua-cam.com/video/DK-eEa_ny0s/v-deo.html
Bell ringer
Yes, that has certainly made us all chuckle watching it back...
Hey guys I love your channel! I'm looking for advice! Iv just bought a 2.3 hyroforce sib it's brand new but not from a dealer but the floor is missing wich I knew about! I'm thinking of doing a ply floor ? Do you have any advice?
Not sure we're the right people to ask if you want sensible advice... best i can do is say to make sure you get the size right. And that closed cell foam is a game changer for comfort... that, and you're probably better off buying yourself the right floor for the boat!
@DevonFloaters yer i tried that but its been discontinued lol I think a plt one with foam edge protection will work ! I want it to be pack away so something removable will be good
I know when sam replaced the floor on his old avon he used the old one as a template... if you can get the dimensions somewhere you might be able to make something up. Try asking on ribnet or somewhere if you cant find the info online...
@@DevonFloaters ok thanks I appreciate that cheers
What’s the dimensions on that boat?
External length: 180 cm Internal length: 94 cm External width: 130 cm Internal width: 60 cm Diameter of the tube: 35 cm Weight: 19 kg Payload: 150 kg People: 1 Maximum power: 3.5 HP Air chamber: 2 fish-inflatableboats.com/en/models/fish-180/#tab-id-2-active
And you need a high end paddle
Sea eagle fast track or razor lite are very fast that’s a pool toy 🧸
You got the wrong kind of Kyaks if you wanted to go fast
Pretty sure a high end paddle or quicker kayak would be wasted on dave...
Plug
Nope, overloaded and anchored up for too long without paying attention!
@@DevonFloaters that'll do it too. Lol. Love the sib videos mate
Thanks very much. Hopefully we'll be out again very soon with some more!
What hp is your outt outboard?
Sam has a 15hp 2 stroke, chris has a 6hp 4 stroke
Giving Dave a glorified lilo and calling it an inflatable kayak, I'm not surprised that he was so slow and the experience was "painful". Maybe next present will be better. 🙃 Inflatable kayaks are not really that much slower than hardshell - you just need to choose one properly. 😉 Cheers from West Sussex.
Yes, Sam and Chris were hoping it would be awful. Chose the worst one they could find apparently. A bit irritating for them that he enjoyed it!
@@DevonFloaters Well, they definitely managed to find THE worst one. 😅
I'm sure they'll take that as a compliment!
Busy bees!
Hang on, where did this little nugget come from?
Fancy a collaboration?
What did you have in mind?
@@DevonFloaters I’m open to any ideas… i was thinking a meet up get on the water and put the boats through some comparisons/tests speed, stability, capacity, manoeuvring ect a fun day out meeting new people widening our audience and hopefully creating new friendships also.
I mean, boat reviews isnt really what we do, but you're more than welcome to join us for a mess about if ever you're in our neck of the woods. I know the lads have considered crossing the bristol channel if Sam ever gets himself a new engine...
@@DevonFloaters yeah totally I was more thinking the comical value of it all. Maybe set ourselves a few challenges like you said just a bunch of lads having a mess about on the water. I might have an engine Sam can borrow.
He has an engine, but a crossing of that size he wants a reliable 4 stroke rather than his massive johnson!
I just got a 9ft zodiac zoom i have a johnson 8 hp 2 stroke , should plane ok ??
Chris and dave both have 6hp engines now, they get on the plane no issue solo
Love your videos haha where abouts in Devon do you usually launch? I’m hoping to get a SIB this year but don’t know anyone with boats :/ I’m near Okehampton
Thank you! We usually launch from appledore in north Devon. It’s a little quiet this time of year for us but soon as the days stretch out we’ll let you know 👍
Yeah that would be cool, cheers 🤙
I got a 10 ft dingy amd scare to even go past the break wall scared it might pop or flip over tho 😂😂😂 I heard hothead made strong tho
It's always surprising how capable they are. Im sure at some point it will go wrong, but we'll keep pushing our luck until then!
Suggest a drysuit. If it does flip, they're easy to flip back, just make sure everything is tied down. You'll be right. Always go with two motors, even if that's just another boat.
id be so bothered by the fuel smell to have that outboard so close to me while i drive. does your outboard smell at all?
Smells like an old 2 stroke 🤷♂️
😍👍
Quite a ho down. 🤣🤪 someone nicked your drain plug
It was actually his own stupidity. He'd been anchored up from the stern for around 2-3 hours fishing, which was pulling the back under, which slowly let water in through the drain plug!
Can’t stand the gig rowers 🤦🏼♂️ so rude and pretentious
Thank you! I’ve got my Poland visit on the channel.
Very good and stable drone flight. Interesting shots. Great film editing. Good job. I fly too. Greetings from Poland. I liked and subscribed.
Have you seen your shoutout on OYZ in their latest vid?
Have now! Once again, shame dave got rid of the fish...
OYZ❤ thank for the shout out!
Nice music! Perhaps set up a low level obstacle course for practice?
Or he could just learn to follow a boat... 😂
insane ,Devon,;))
It's not that small, you get 160's too.. :)
Dave dis say the excel volante 160 was a consideration, but it was much more expensive...
@@DevonFloaters Frankly good that he skipped it, as funny as small ones are there is a limit. Personally I bought myself a small one as well. A Plastimo PI230VB, weight 18 kg and has an inflateable V hull, combined it with an EPropulsion Spirit 1.0 Plus engine. 230 is already the smallest size I'm comfortable with.
Nice. We only have one other video with the fish 180, then in the later videos dave bought himself a freesun 270!
@@DevonFloaters Ahh, 270 sounds like a much better choice. :) That said, if you get the chance you should try an EPropulsion engine, about the speed as the Honda 2.3 but with no sound what so ever. (Water noises are higher than the engine noise)
It's the weight of the batteries that's the problem with an electric engine. He has a 6hp mariner now. But i know Sam has considered the torqeedo as a replacement when the massive johnson finally dies...
Looks like you guys are having fun. I bought a SIB + outboard the other week, and will be testing it out for the first time pretty soon, probably launching from Appledore, and breaking the engine in gradually over a couple of sessions using the torridge/tor [& possibly exmouth estuary some other time later]. Then looking forward to exploring around the local coastlines.
Nice. What did you get? You may well see us out and about in the estuary!
@@DevonFloaters I have a honwave 3.8m with a tohatsu 9.8hp. Yes may see you out there some time, though sad I won't get to see the olde Fish 180 in action. That looked amazing.
Very nice. More capable than anything any of us have! Yes we're all disappointed dave got rid of the fish, I'll pass on that another person is unhappy with him for getting rid of it 😉
Dave getting rid of the 180 is deeply disappointing. Can we petition him to get another 180? haha. keep on floating boys @@DevonFloaters
I got big rib there if u need safety boat for longer trip in summer chopper cover Baggy 👍👍
Pmsl Dave iv never seen such skinny legs on a grown man
