Thank you for asking. I think one of the main things is to know that resin will shrink when it cures so you need to have enough there and enough extra that allows for that shrinkage so it won't break. You can also take a glue dot and mold it around the exposed wire to protect it. You can also coat it in uv resin and cure too that will also help protect it. I made snowflakes last year and still have one I kept and lights still worked this year. I think biggest thing is give the wires room to move when resin shrinks. I think that is the issue with failures is they stretch the snug and in curing it breaks wiring. Sorry long winded hope this helps and thanks for reaching out. Let me know how it goes for you. I just did an updated Geode video that I did whole process with finished piece at the end. I have learned a lot about making videos since I made this one. Hey there. Thank you. I do sand my wood canvas or piece gently and wipe down with alcohol to be sure all dust particles are removed. Most items like that have already been sealed and prepped so you should be good. Let me know how it goes. Happy Arting....thanks for sharing!

Yep agreed. I use 99% isopropyl alcohol. Molds have definitely changed as of late. My earlier videos we were not having any issues with melding to molds. That has been something new as of late so I too now advise no fire/torch when using molds. It is find for canvas work or tables that are not in molds. Thanks for responding and the reminder! Hey darlin happy it helped. I use black either mica or pigment paste (I prefer paste from Eye Candy-use my code (KatsSouthernCharms) to color resin as my background.

It is good and I honestly think the reason the closet ones turned is twofold. First the additive doesn’t work if never light exposure and second resin just naturally turns. All 3 brands have reformulated since doing this test. I am going to reach out to them and redo this with their new formulas.

I am so happy that it helped you. As for alcohol ink in UV that is a negative ghost rider. Alcohol inks do not do well in uv resin as it must be transparent. They work great in 2 part resin.
