About why Gandalf didn't know Bilbo had the ring: He knew Bilbo found A ring but he didn't know Bilbo found THE ring. It's incredibly unlikely that a hobbit of all people just stumbles upon such a powerful object on a cave. And gandalf hadn't actually seen the ring before

33 years old and still one of my favorites. When I was a kid, the scene of Nag going into the bathroom made me scared to go to the bathroom at night. It wasn't until I was a little older I realized that the odds of a snake in my bathroom at all were slim to none.

Elves can die of grief, essentially give up on life. Arwen renounced the live of the eldar to be with Aragaron. Her decision was made, the only way to be with Aragorn was the defeat of Sauron. Argaron has the gift of foresight, (maybe somewhat less than Elrond) basically seeing that Saurons victory would mean the death of his beloved. Elrond also forsaw this and seeing the immortality of elves leave his daughter when se made the decision to not sail into the west. Hence bringing Narsil reforged, (in the books Aragorn actually wields he narsil broken and is forged before leaving Rivendel.) The hope of victory was the string that revived Arwens new (mortal) live, without it she would perish.

My best guess about who Smeagol was telling that story to is also himself. I think this is him talking to himself sometime after Frodo reminds him of his name, trying to piece together some kind of coherent narrative of what happened to him.

Loved that you felt into what it would have been like for a theatre goer at the time. After waiting one year, sitting in the theatre, the excitement was almost unbearable. ❤

The Watcher in the Water (tentacle creature) prevented the dwarves from accessing the back door to get out during the orc attacks. This is the door the Fellowship uses to enter the mine. The remaining dwarves made their last stand in the chamber we see the tomb of Balin. 💕

So at the beginning of the movie the king that was killed by Sauron, Elendil, he and his son’s, Isildur and Anarion, ruled all of the lands we see in LOTR. The father, Elendil as high king over all, ruled the northwest on the other side of the Blue Mountains (the Shire sits smack in the middle of his lands of Arnor) and the two sons ruled the south east namely Gondor and Rohan ( which was part of Gondor at the time). The second son, Anarion, was killed early in the war we saw at the beginning of Fellowship, leaving his father and brother to rule. Then Elendil was killed by Sauron leaving only Isildur. After Sauron was destroyed. Isildur set his nephew, Anarion’s son Meneldil, on the throne of Gondor and head northwest to take the high seat in Arnor. He and his older sons were killed as shown at the beginning and the young, 4 year old son Valandil, was kept safe in Rivendell, sparking a tradition that the kings of Arnor be fostered in Rivendell for a time. Slowly over time the two kingdoms grew apart, fell into hard times and eventually fell into complete ruin in the north, and the end of the king’s line in the south. Although the Arnor line, through Aragorn’s forefathers was still intact, their kingdom was gone. The south still held on to their kingdom, through friendship and creation of Rohan to help stave off attacks. However, the south always had insisted the line of its 4:36 kings be through Anarion’s line and not Isildurs. There was none until Aragorn, who was descended from both brothers, Isildur through paternal line and Anarion through the maternal line. That was long but hope it helps. Loved the ears. ❤

Smegal is not a Hobbit but of the River Folk who are similar to Hobbits. Saruman and Wormtongue didn't die that way or there. Not until almost the end of the book. Danielle, I think your dress goes very well with this movie. My question is if Faramir went instead of his brother, would the ring have corrupted him as it did to his brother? The little girl who came out to welcome her daddy home, was the actor's actual daughter. I hope that you read the books because they are so much better. But start your reading with the Hobbit.

I have seen many reaction videos where they split these long movies into 2-3 parts. But they had actually watched it totally through. where it appears that you actually stopped the movie. The male Ents are trees, the Females are Bushes and they left.

There are many races of men in the LOTR. The group who went through the black gate were different from those who joined Saurman. There are other groups to come.

There is an entire half a chapter dedicated to Faramir and Eowyn falling in love in the book, and it's really sweet and much more fleshed out. Faramir falls head over heels at first sight, and immediately seeks out Merry to get the gossip on her, (since he heard that Merry and Eowyn rode together to Minas Tirith and were close friends). Over the course of a month or so as they recover from their respective ordeals, Faramir helps her though her trauma and challenges her "feelings" for Aragorn, helping her understand that she was in love with the idea of him more than the man himself. Ultimately she realises that there is more to life than being a queen and renowned warrior, and learns to find beauty in healing. "And then [Faramir] took her in his arms and kissed her under the sunlit sky, and he cared not that they stood high upon the walls of the sight of many. And many indeed saw them and the light that shone about them as they came down from the walls and went hand in hand to the Houses of Healing." And to the Warden of the Houses Faramir said: "Here is the Lady Éowyn of Rohan, and now she is healed."

To answer your question about how Smeagol could succumb so quickly to the ring, when other hobbits do not. Hobbits all have the capacity to resist the ring, but Smeagol was already a spoiled, despicable character prior to the ring being found. The ring tapped into his base desires.
