Connecting Eco Worthy Inverter Controller to Mains or Genterator
* special note- if you have more than one GFCI within the circuit, it could cause random circuit breaker tripping at your Mains. Also make sure that your neutral ground is disconnected at your all-in-one inverter controller. If it is connected to Mains. The mains usually has a neutral to ground Bond. Always double check to see if your generator has a neutral to ground Bond, again because you are only allowed one neutral ground Bond in your entire system.
This video goes through one of the options for connecting your Eco Worthy AIO Inverter/Controller/Charger to Mains Power or a Generator Inverter. On this one I used my home power for Mains, and demonstrated how it would work with a generator that you start manually and not use the dry contact relay. All in all it works pretty well with only having to change two parameters. I'm

Hi great video. Inam wondering how to put PV first and A/C second. What i am looking to accomplish is when battery come low with PV. It would switch to A/C

When you finished the setup what was the angle that it came with?
@@terryserson8372 you know, I really don't remember to be honest..
I almost bought them but nobody showed how to change the angle so it must be a problem. Changing the angle is important for solar panels! Good video i enjoyed it. Maybe one showing changing the angles.
@@terryserson8372 I could do that, but it may be a while. I'm in the middle of a couple large projects. I'll see what I can do though

Thanks for runnig through the entire assembly....had bought the kit...and you've made the assembly quite clear....the panel mounting jig idea is something that I'll use.....east coast locale.
You are correct. Once you take off. Allow it to hover over the pad for a few seconds. Then leave. I land 99% of the time on the pad right in the middle. It does auto-correct as well. I love this drone. I use RTH when I'm in tight places like the beach ⛱️. I have my large heavy-duty pad and some cones. I set it next to my beach chair. People are always amazed when it lands perfectly on the pad. On my last visit to the beach, I was in the water lol 😆. Low battery and RTH activated lol 😢. I forgot I moved the pad a little before walking to the beach. But thankfully it still landed on the pad but one leg was off the pad. Which in the video kicked up dirt. Next time I'm going to make sure the pad is where I want it before taking off. That was on me. I realized it when I was watching the entire time from the water. I started to cancel and correct it. But I decided to allow it to do it's things. Anyways new subscriber I just sub to your page. Oh it can indeed land in tight spaces long as you LIKE you said allow it to recognize the pad first.
I have 8 400w panels currently 2 in series into combiner.so I'm using all 4 inputs. I just upgraded my controller to an all in one and it requires 120v to start with a max voltage of 500v. Without having to run all new wire, watching your video it looks like I might be able to put these eight panels in series within the combiner box. Is this correct? I know you just did two strings I have four so would that mean that the last fuse holder would be like the second that you have wired?
@@jsdiecast sure you could do it, but are all of your panels in the same location next to each other. Sometimes it's just easier to connect them in series where they're at, and run a couple lines back to your combiner box
@SolarBearDIY I have 4 trackers with 2 panels each.
I couldn't of done it without this video that's for sure the actual manual is horrible
Nice clean setup. It's been my understanding that when paralleling, ALL cables should be of the same length (+ and - alike). Looks like you have shorter negative cables than the positive. Have I been misled?
@reddivrbob no sir you are correct, but really it's all about individual current paths being the same length in order to have the same resistance. So In that sense my system is correct because all positive cables are the same length, and all negative cables are the same length in a parallel configuration. This may not be the same in a series configuration.
I just ordered an eight hundred watt renergy system for my cabin. The wire from the charge controller to the inverter, is that just a regular battery cable connection?Type
Yessir, 100% copper

How can you even reach 60amp charging from solar with the 100v /1500watt input limits?
Good question, remember that the job of the controller is to reduce and regulate voltage, in addition to other actions. So if your controller will regulate the voltage to 24v on a 24v system. 1400 watts/24 volts=58.33 amps. But they like to round up if they can.
When i put my inverter in use it saying sla?
@@dannylimbert9181 yes, it will say that when you are using "user" charging parameters
But if I'm using lithium iron battery does it need a different setting?
@@dannylimbert9181 As long as you are in user mode, those will be the settings/parameters that you charge controller uses to charge your batteries. The monitor will default to sla because really the monitor doesn't know what type of battery you're using.
They do have the 3000 watt version now!
Very good thanks for the help

How did you ground the eco worthy??
@@misterdavis7543 that would be a good video actually, I'll try to explain in a comment to you tomorrow. Short version is the AC in ground is bonded right to the chassis of the AIO. Both the AC in and the AC out ground terminals both go to the same ground bus bar and my circuit breaker panel. The ground bus bar is also grounded to an earth ground, and another ground bus bar for my battery packs

@@Fordy357 you can use a car battery, just make sure it's in the same voltage range

@@roosterprice thanks
@@SolarBearDIY As an update, I have a 60 amp Rover and 12.8v 100amp Power Queen Batteries. Some of the Power Queen provided parameter terms were different. I called Renogy tech support. They were very helpful and easily translated the Power Queen parameter terms to the matching Renogy parameter terms used in the "use" mode for Renogy Rover setup. I have a 24v system and was informed to input the 12v levels provided by Power Queen when setting up the Rover and it would multiply those to the correct levels for my 24v system, as long as I identified my system as 24v in the initial setup screen.
@@roosterprice yeah that sounds about right, the numerical values in the Rover always reflect 12v parameters. So when you are set up in 24v configuration all of those values are multiplied x2, and for 48v systems all the values are multiplied by x4. Just remember that when you switch to a different system voltage, you have to totally disconnect the controller from the batteries and the panels in order for the changes to take affect.
Any idea if this can balance 16 batteries in 4s4p (12 volt batteries)
@@ngk330 You would need multiple units to achieve this. If I remember correctly you will need 2 balancers per 4x batteries in series.
Thank you Gary. This is a great video. Unfortunately my charger inverter is not a clone of the series you discuss but it is a copy (even uses the same case). Are you familiar with the PowMr brand? I have the 3.6kw model in 24v. (POW-LVM3.6M-24V) It uses the same kind of display and identical menu structure but many of the settings are different numbers and it does not seem to have as many set points as the one you are using. I am astounded that these manuals don't give more detail on the functional operation (when they bulk charge, when they float and when they boost etc) Your video was a huge help validating my decisions of max charge voltage, min battery voltage and so on but still lots of questions to resolve. I would really like to know ALOT more about the function of the internal BMS in the ECO batteries too. I have 4 of the 280AH in 2S2P. Hey there, so is the PV input voltage on the all in one display screen. Is that reading what the combined solar.panels are producing in volts? When I watch a movie and run the ceiling fan and small frig, the voltage reaches 25.0v or maybe a bit lower at bed time, then I run a regular fan over night my inverter will ring the alarm in the wee hours of the morning due to low voltage, thoughts on that? so with that said im going to try the 2s2p on my four 250w panels to see if i get a better responce. My question is now and i may have asked you this already but i want to run a generator sometimes to top off my batteries before i go to bed. So even if the inverter has not reached the #4 setpoint and i start the generator manually will it just automatically switch to that power source to top off the batteries? @@fjayw ok, so I just figured out your problem, this can be remedied to accommodate all four panels. This controller has a MPPT range of 60v to about 90v, with a Max open voltage of about 100v. When you connect your panels in series, the voltage adds up and exceeds 100v causing the error. The good news is that the safety mechanism is working, and your controller isn't damaged. Are you on FB?
So 750w of panels is all I can run on this inverter in series?
@@fjayw in series yes, but you can do a 2s2p configuration with your panels, and be within voltage and amperage parameters.
